Chapter 51 - Shopping for Skills

"Welcome to the Warp village. It seems this is your first time coming here. How about you come with me to my abode. You could have the best experience during your short stay." requested the village head and waited for their response.

"It's an honor, senior." Ballock agreed without much thought.

The village head signaled someone to collect their horses, and they followed him to his home. They assumed he was the leader since he had the highest cultivation realm among his company.

About five minutes later, they reached the senior's house which was like a beacon in the entire village. They were given rooms to settle which were the best in the entire courtyard.

Ballock and Blood didn't bother to accept separate rooms. They both took the same room which was convenient and within the next minute a snoring sound could be heard.

Blood shook his head.

This guy definitely did not sleep throughout the night. He only slept a wink and that was mostly likely how he had noticed the hurricane. Blood had a strange smirk plastered on his face before resting his back on the wall.

He then logged into the Blood Book and a red interface appeared before him.

Blood already thought about how he could fight the war he wanted to take part in. He knew he would be giving his head to the enemy if he appeared like this, with no skills he was adept in. The skills he used against those beasts may not necessary be useful in the coming battle.

He remembered the Blood Book mentioned the shop had been updated. He navigated toward the Shop section to see the available items. With his current skills, he was sure he wasn't ready.

He first checked his Status first…

[Level 2 Achieved]

Blood looked at everything which remained the same except for the 'Accumulated Exp' which seemed to have increased by a huge amount. Although he knew he worked hard for it as he almost died a number of times, he didn't know it had increased by this much. The last time he checked, it was 20.700 Exp.

What a huge increase!

However, considering the large number of beasts they had fought along the way, the increase seemed to be lacking.

Ballock had let him deal the final blow to each beast. There were many beasts which obstructed their path. While they killed many, they also ran away from the ones with higher cultivation realms.

He looked at the title 'Path Breaker' which was dormant as it had always been. He remembered he got the title when the Blood Book notified him of unlocking an ancient path. Although he still doesn't know what it was meant for, he knew time would tell…

Shop...

An array of skills with unique properties greeted him, shimmering in blue light. He quickly dived into the skills.

[Energy Release: When the Host break through a major realm, it enables the Host to release a gush of energy which would disperse into the surroundings, allowing others to cultivate faster for a short term. (Recommended)]

[Eclipse Eater: An ability which spreads one's presence and display the speculated power of the region, used in world selection. (Highly Recommended)]

[Blood Evasive Art: A movement Art which allows one to move extremely fast with vigor, avoiding obstacles and other impediments with one's quickened step.]

[Soulless Sweep: A silent attack skill of excessive might, able to transit the soul structure, gaining access to the vulnerabilities of one's opponent when the soul is exposed.]

Blood scrutinized his eyes when he got the message.

There were two among the skills which the Blood Book recommended with one among them highly recommended. However, looking at their description, they were not what he was looking for.

Based on the description of both recommended skills, he wasn't sure it applies to his current predicament.

He had entered the shop to look for things useful for the war he would be taking part in. If he wasn't prepared, not only would he be putting his life at risk, but also his friend whose choice always aligned with his.

Without much debate, he tapped on the movement art and the other attack skill. He wasn't sure about their redeeming prices but was sure he had enough Exp for both skills.

[Blood Evasive Art—Blood Evasive Step

Redeem Point: 20.000 Exp]

[Soulless Sweep

Redeem Point: 35.000 Exp]

Blood was left speechless by the exorbitant price the Blood Book was demanding for just two skills.

What a greedy fellow!

Perhaps, it was because it knew he had enough Exp.

Nevertheless, his mind eased a bit when he realized he was just exchanging about 50 stage 9 beasts of the Iron realm for both skills. Here, Blood realized the points he got from slaying beasts decreased sharply.

Now in the Bronze realm, beasts killed of any stages in the Iron realm would produce diminutive result. Even when he was in the Iron realm, the points he got from beasts he killed from the lower stages while he was in the mid stages were little.

Anyway, the points for redeeming any skill didn't disturb him much since he knew skills where hard to come across. Many sects didn't create powerful skills and techniques by themselves as most were gotten from portal dimensions, secret realms, including some Empty world.

If it were this easy to acquire a skill, he knew anyone would be very satisfied and wouldn't mind if it was a hundred times more, because creating a skill was demanding not to talk of getting one's hand on it since most powerful skills were monopolized by the top sects and other peak powers.

They only left the indecent and redundant ones for outsiders who had no choice but to cultivate in them. This was in place so that other's strength wouldn't come near theirs, and that was what allowed them to remain at the peak of the world.

Blood wouldn't disregard the fact that he was weak with no decent attack, movement or even defensive skills. He gazed at the required Exp for each skill and bought it after thinking a bit.

Swoosh..

A faint red mist which could almost go unnoticed came out of nowhere and penetrated his glabella without leaving any pain. Anyhow, just like that 55.000 Exp was deducted.

[Skill Redeemed successfully]

[Accumulated Exp: 31.700]

Blood's eyes shone with unknown light as he could feel every organ in his body reacting to the newly imbued skills.
