Chapter 49 - Roaring Snow Horse

Kate returned to her seat, contemplating all that had happened especially the last one. She felt like she shouldn't have done that but shook her head. It was alright and it was only for him to know his place and strength, or he'd end up dead in the end.

Although she was surprised that he didn't pass out by such attack, since that was 10 percent of her strength imbued as a Silver realm stage 3 prodigy.

She didn't think much of it and focused on eliminating the contract's shackle. She was now 80 percent sure that there was really something down there, and that they weren't just making things up.

She brought out a grey stone which was used in eliminating contract shackles. Anyhow, it was precious and limited but it was worth it since she got the information she needed. She would gain multiple times more when she explored the dimension.

She crushed the stone and its grey energy sipped into her nose and eyes. But the moment they entered her Spiritual space to destroy the shackle, blood-red veins sprung out immediately from nowhere to counter, and with just a show of itself the grey energy was repulsed.

Kate's eyes shone with hatred as she coughed out blood with a strange color, and a thought surfaced in her mind.

It was either that guy did something to the contract or the contract by itself was unusual.

She clearly saw what transpired inside her Spiritual space and the strange blood-red veins' energy resembled his she felt prior.

He clearly knew something about it and almost made her end up in a severe state. She sprang up and decided to go on pursuit, but someone blocked her path.

She looked up and a deep frown appeared on her face, because she knew she was going nowhere.

___

Blood and Ballock rode their horses which they saw when they were about to start their journey and realized it was her who left those for them.

"Didn't know she could be this reasonable after all she's done." Ballock muttered indignantly to which Blood just smiled.

Blood had completely forgotten about what happened since he didn't take it to heart. Strength speaks better that word in this world they live, and it was the same anywhere one went. He had known long ago that strength was absolute and even devils had to bow to absolute power, and that was the reason many cultivators cultivates so that they could bring themselves to a higher rank on the food chain.

Undeniably, he had heard of a number of cities, towns and villages which were destroyed, and some were taken over without question from the Settlers military group. When sects or organizations who held enough influence exerts them on the lower territories, only a few times do they intervene.

He knew that once he showed his prowess, it was only a matter of time until he got what he wants.

The horses they've been gifted was a Silver realm Roaring Snow Horse, whose speed was incredible as it could cover 350 miles per hour without rest. It was evening now and they were only two days away from the Bland town.

Blood was surprised that his determined follower, Kate Bargle, could easily gift out a mount of the Silver realm. His knowledge and carefulness of the supreme cultivators was once again ignited.

He certainly knew how rear a Silver realm mount was and what efforts had to be used to nurture them to maintain good fitness. Even his father only had two horses of the Silver realm. One of which was given when he joined the city's force and the other which was gotten from his mother's clan, since they major in horse breeding.

Anyway, as if coming to the same thought, Ballock turned to face him while galloping and voiced out, "It would've been a not so boring journey, if Titas had come with us."

Blood shook his head with a light smirk on his face; however, he couldn't help but agree, "Yeah, but am very much happy she's safe and doesn't have to go through what we've gone through." he expressed with a flustered gaze.

Titas was the mount which he had been conferred when he was five and ever since they've built a strong connection, becoming friends of one another.

Ballock mused, "I think we should take a rest and get ourselves refreshed since we can't just join the battle in our current state even if we reach now." he said calmly when he noticed the decreased speed of the mounts.

"We can continue tomorrow before dawn," he added as he pulls the reins of the horse bringing it to a stop.

Blood nodded lightly and they quickly cleared somewhere safe around the tall trees. A tent was quickly raised before they set defensive and alarm formations around the surrounding trees.

"I will go get us something." Ballock said and rushed into the sea of trees.

Blood darted his eyes at him but said nothing as he peered into the ground as if there was something unique at that particular point, deep in thought. He could only think of his family at this point and especially his little sister who would have scattered his room with the thought of looking for clues of his whereabouts.

A livid smile suddenly formed on his face before he laughed silently, there would be a lot of telling when he arrived back home.

Not long after, Ballock returned holding two large Toothed-Rabbits and Blood quickly get to work, pared the rabbits while the former started a fire.

The smell of delicious meat soon enveloped the area as the duo savor the scents, making them impatient.

Ballock cut a piece and delivered it to the restive Blood, who hurriedly took hold of it and sniffed.

"It smells nice." he complemented and brought it closer to his mouth, before munching the whole piece.

"Hunn, you should have some. It's really good." he spoke between breaths as he savored the taste.

"Of course, it will taste nice. It's a Bronze realm beast after all." Ballock retorted with a smirk. He quickly cut a larger piece for himself and faced the opposite side to enjoy his work, earning a glare from his counterpart.

And just like that, the night quickly became thick, and both eventually fell asleep, amidst the howling and chirping of wild beasts.

___

In a large canvas which had different compartments of different sizes. In one of the larger compartments were twelve figures who sat around a table barren of food nor drinks.

At both ends of the table sat the commanders of the operation, and both were clad in gray robes and one of them had deep red eyes which seem to glow intensely every second that passed.

Kamil, the seventh division commander thinned his eyes and repeated, "Although, the other group who joined the battle were incredibly large, it was reported that they were mostly of lower cultivation realms while the ones with higher cultivation realm are very few. With the capability of our forces, we can definitely win this." He reaffirmed and one could see the worries in the eyes of the captains gradually lessened.
