Chapter 28 - Blood Book 3

The Black Pool of Northbudge was his octagonal pendent bestowed by his grandmother. Perhaps even when the Blood Book invaded his Spiritual space it didn't noticed the Black Pool of Northbudge's existence not until it manifested before it was detected.

Therefore, the octagonal pendant surely wasn't an ordinary pendant by itself which brings him to the thought that why was he the one to be given the pendant and he was also told not to let anyone know of its existence.

It was clear his grandmother knew something about this pendant.

His parents likely saw it as a redundant item given to a kid by his dying grandparent, and most likely shrugged the matter off.

Hence, with this information he obtained he understood that the Blood Book wasn't an item to be used for simply "contracting beasts". it would be an insult to such a divine treasure.

He concluded he would search his grandmother's room when he was less busy.

Thus, the Black Pool of Northbudge wasn't to be looked down upon. Especially of how easily it could hide itself from others in close proximity leaving the other oblivious to its existence.

Only a scent could be perceived from the notification of detecting an anomaly but couldn't identify what.

Having two divine treasures entirely to oneself was already a lifetime accomplishment. Without thinking he called out straight off,

"Blood Book"

He was expecting the already closed red interface to appear again so he could browse other functions however, he was in for a huge surprise…

The instant the word left his mouth… lo and behold, a divine book with incomprehensible presence materialized in front of him, levitating silently and peacefully in the air.

The intricate lines along its corners and spine were one to look out for. It releases a bloody light which swept the room as the entire manor shook subtly in its magnificence.

Its front cover was enshrouded in crimson array light. At its top was a seal written with an unknown letter, but the understanding was one Blood could comprehend.

Diverse paintings and writings clouded its surface and when one concentrated their eyes the images seemed to come alive.

An octagonal prism was imprinted right at the center amidst the images. The key feature to be noted was the hovering pendant at the top just below the seal in which misty blood veins spurt around as if reaching for something.

Unknown to Blood, his eyes had turned blood red. The shimmering light from the hovering pendant moved incredibly fast and pierced Blood's unguarded eyes.

He turned completely blind. He couldn't see a thing!

Blood was teleported to another space, meanwhile his body fell uncontrollably to the floor, his glowing eyes still shimmering bright.

_____

"Where am I?" He slowly opened his eyes and looked around trying to get a footing and a close sense of his situation.

He remembered the incisive light which was impossible to evade.

Blood found himself in a relatively large space many times larger than the previous starry stars however, in this place there were no stars around.

He could see an enormous, still octagonal prism with an imperfect circle circumscribed about it.

Each angle points of the enormous prism had a circle tightly knitted about it with myriads of colorful energy swirling around the angle points, not being transferred to its interior circle.

A path seemingly made of silky netlike substance appeared connected to a silhouette ahead, from each circle. The silhouette seemed to be the embodiment of desolation, staying silently in space.

Since a trajectory was already formed, the swirling colorful energy went around from one angle point to the other, moving incredibly fast seemingly to catch its end with the latter just as fast.

At the summits of the silhouette lies a small circle, almost impossible to locate oozing out some substance incessantly.

Blood couldn't help tracing his eyes from the bottom to the top of the silhouette before his eyes started burning bright. His face was hot and itchy. He at once averted his gaze which reduced the previous feeling.

It was intangible.

"What even is this?" he questioned in his heart. It was so astounding that his heart skipped a beat.

It was like the weight of the world was laid on his shoulders.

At the bottom of the silhouette was carved some letters in language he couldn't understand. However, that wouldn't be a barrier because he naturally knew the meaning as if he'd been practicing from birth.

It was the same word writing on the technique's column of the Status section,

Blood Formation Manual—Blood Balancing Art

Just like before, he sat down on the large space to gather his energy just to see how it goes this time. But the moment he read the words…

______

Meanwhile,

Ivory was sleeping peacefully in her room for the first time in a long time.

The surrounding space twisted and churned as the energy became turbulent, being forcibly drawn from the void toward the figure sitting cross-legged on the floor. The commotion was enough to wake the little one up, who yawned before opening her eyes to access the situation.

A huge phenomenon was happening right before her very eyes. It was the first time she had ever seen such a thing.

"He's started again." She lamented.

The world's heaven and earth energy twisted and turned forming a whirlpool just a distance atop Blood's head. The diameter seemed to be growing bigger. The energy was aggressively being sucked into his body from the whirlpool in large amounts.

She didn't know anyone could take in such a large amount of energy in one fell swoop if not for her experiencing it right now.

The energy sizzled and Blood jerked as it entered him. His eyes were blood red but appeared to be in a peaceful state in the midst of the violent storm. It felt like this was where he was meant to be. It was where he belonged.

_______

Oblivious to the disturbance he was causing in the outside world, he stayed in a cross-legged position as he meditated.

Blood slowly circulated his energy by sucking the world's heaven and earth energy. The moment it entered his body, without his control it was led past his energy paths to his core, which would help regulate the energy.

After all, this was the way he knew the energy paths and the core work to improve someone's strength.

But this time around something was different. The energy was drawn to the octagonal prism, and it started to rotate anticlockwise as if energized.

The swirling colorful energy moving around the prism's angles increased in quantity and as time passed the energy grew to the point that the lead energy came in contact with its bottom making the prism glow brightly.

It had reached a threshold.

It became so bright that Blood watching all of these while meditating had to close his eyes. His focus was lost and…

Paa...

A low-pitched sound that could only be heard by Blood resounded. The colorful energy pierced one of the knitted circles and energy was transferred to it, quickly filling it up.

With nowhere for the energy to go again it pierced another circle and filled it up and continued like that until it got to the seventh circle.
