Rigel's journey was very smooth, passing through the water. He had already placed the compass in one of the phantom items. Using Occlumency to focus his thoughts on finding the unicorns, he continued through the water while sensing the direction where 'destiny' was pointing, clearly the place where they were.
Rigel's black tail swayed slightly, his speed like Merman's incredibly fast pace in the water, so it only swam for a few minutes before stopping.
Slowly raising his head out of the water, he looked around, the sea on one side, a dark and dense forest on the other.
Rigel looked towards the forest, sensing that the unicorns were heading in that direction.
It wasn't just that, this place exuded magic, although compared to Hogwarts, where magic seemed saturated, it was still only average.
Rigel had never been to any other forest in this world, so he couldn't say what they were like, but he felt that compared to the city, this wild environment was much more 'pleasant'.
Could there have been a deeper connection between magic and nature that he couldn't yet discern?
Although he had been to all sorts of environments in the world of Pirates of the Caribbean, the difference wasn't that great, he would have to go to other forests in the future to find out.
The wizards of that world probably didn't pay much attention to it, at least, he thought most of them didn't have as keen a 'magical sense' as he did. At least none of the other students seemed to be able to 'see' anything different at Hogwarts. When Rigel simply asked about it, they didn't just reply that they found the environment a little more pleasant, perhaps only the powerful characters could feel the difference in saturation.
The weak could only say where it was 'pleasant' and where it wasn't.
Rigel thought for a moment and realized that his own ability to 'sense' was connected to the fact that he had spent so much time in the world of Pirates of the Caribbean, where although there was magic, the Order was much stronger.
Unlike magic, the Order was very difficult to sense, except for the gathering of Divine power, everything else seemed just very... ordinary.
Being in that 'ordinary' environment made him much more sensitive when he returned to an environment saturated with magic.
Sure, it could simply be because his merman physique makes him more sensitive to it than others, who knows.
In any case, he emerged from the water, his tail covered in black scales quickly giving way to legs while his clothes reverted directly to their original shape.
Using his control over water to dry the remaining water from his body, he began walking towards the dark forest, without any fear.
Nevertheless, his wand appeared in his hand, ready for any adversity.
Deep within the forest, Rigel could feel the shift in magic around him even more, it was too ethereal for a precise explanation. Comparatively, the magic at Hogwarts seemed to have an ancient 'flavor,' like entering a gigantic library smelling of old books, while the magic here seemed to have a primal 'flavor,' like... well, like entering an untouched forest.
Rigel's magic wasn't affected by this, but it was still interesting to note the difference.
A wizard's magic seemed 'filtered,' bearing the wizard's own signature, but the magic around him was different. Rigel began to understand why rituals required specific times and places, the magic changed, rituals made use of external magic, very different from the magic of the wizards themselves.
Perhaps the reason Voldemort chose a cemetery for the resurrection ritual wasn't just convenience.
A ritual to bring the 'dead' back to life, a cemetery seemed incredibly related considering that the ritual was probably a form of natural Dark magic.
Thinking about all of this while walking had almost caused Rigel to trip over a large root, so he stopped thinking about it and focused on the path.
He felt several eyes on him as he passed by, animals from that forest. Rigel even saw a spider the size of a volleyball. The spider stared coldly at him as he passed by. Rigel frowned, but the spider fled soon after.
Clearly one of Aragog's sons, Rigel thought venom and acromantula silk were good things, but he soon set that aside, he was there for the unicorns.
The stares continued, and Rigel saw a group of Mooncalfs looking at him with those big, bright eyes.
Rigel froze.
'I don't want to stop and pet them, I don't want to stop and pet them...' Rigel looked away as he thought and walked forward, his steps clearly slower than before.
Fortunately (or perhaps unfortunately), Those guys got spooked by Rigel and quickly trotted away.
Mooncalfs are incredibly shy and timid, seeing some during the day is already strange, so Rigel ignored the event and quickened his pace.
Even so, his face still showed a hint of regret.
Damn! How can something so cute exist?! Rigel felt that if unicorns are symbols of purity, then these guys are symbols of cuteness.
Rigel wanted to forget about those guys, but at that moment, all he could think about was getting one.
Look at Jack, causing trouble everywhere, and Salazar too, sleeping all day.
Now look at these little guys, they look like tiny llamas with giant blue eyes.
So cute!
Rigel's face broke into a gentle smile that would have shocked Calypso and Kreacher, he quickly realized this and looked around, relieved not to see anyone.
How embarrassing!
He realized that the direction the 'compass' was pointing had changed, clearly pointing in the direction the Mooncalfs had gone. His lips trembled, he stopped mid-way and took a deep breath. He needed several minutes to calm down and use Occlumency again to continue towards the unicorns.
Even so, the direction was becoming intermittent at times, and Rigel even felt that the direction changed if he lost concentration.
He had never faced this problem before!
Absolutely! Cuteness is a dangerous weapon!
He really wanted one of them!
Rigel's lips trembled occasionally, controlling his steps so as not to turn back.
It was only after walking further that he finally calmed down.
Rigel thought he could create a spell based on cuteness in the future, would that be considered ancient magic?
Imagine transfiguring thousands of Mooncalfs around your enemies, all with big, teary eyes staring straight at them! He would be invincible! Of course, Rigel had a soft spot for these cute creatures, but not everyone was like him. Even so, if he combined emotional magic with it and created many of them at once... as long as the opponent wasn't human garbage like his dear father, he would have an army so cute that no one would want to hurt them!
-Hehehehe! - Rigel's sinister laughter echoed through the forest, if anyone looked at him now, they would hardly guess what he was thinking.
A cute army!
