Rigel and Calypso, Will, Anamaria, and Elizabeth reached the top after climbing more worn-out steps than he ever expected to climb in his life.
Upon arriving, Rigel looked at the assembled pirate court, the adventure book also opened before him, but he ignored it for the time being.
All those captains looked at Rigel with eyes full of caution, revulsion, and disgust. Rigel knew very well the reason for this, he wouldn't want to be one of them at that moment either.
Calypso smiled at them all, but deep in her eyes, that storm seemed ready to explode, she wanted nothing more than to engulf the entire island in tempest and kill them all, but she didn't do it.
Firstly, because no one from the original court that sealed it was there, and secondly, because she had come there because of Rigel.
Elizabeth, Will, and Anamaria swallowed hard. Will's hand rested on his sword, ready to draw it at any moment, Anamaria's was close enough to draw her weapon quickly in case of a fight.
Elizabeth?
Well, despite being nervous, the woman actually found all of this extremely interesting, her back was covered in cold sweat, her hands were sweaty, with one hand already near her sword and the other near her flintlock pistol.
Elizabeth felt conflicted emotions within her at that moment, she was nervous, afraid that everything would go wrong, but at the same time, she wanted everything to go wrong. Just thinking about the kind of excitement that would cause gave her an unsettling adrenaline rush.
Jack was there too, he was with Gibbs and some pirates not far away, he smiled and waved to Rigel, only to be stared at by other lords, making him look serious, biting his finger and looking away, pretending it had nothing to do with him.
The Nine Pirate Lords were united once more, they are the leaders of the Brethren Court, each representing one of the world's seas or oceans.
[A/N: I researched some information about pirate lords and only slightly altered what I found, I can't say if this is 100% accurate.]
Mistress Ching, representing the Pacific Ocean.
Ching is regarded as one of the most fearsome Pirate Lords of her time due to her outspoken nature and merciless approach to piracy. Ching was also known to have traveled five of the seven seas. She rose to power after the death of her husband, a pirate named Zheng Yi, and assumed control of his pirate confederation.
Captain Ammand, representing the Black Sea
Before becoming a member of the Court of Brethren in Pirates of the Caribbean, Ammand led the Barbary Corsairs, an informal association of Muslim pirates who plundered ships of infidel Christians. This made Ammand a wanted man for his crimes against the church, in addition to his piracy along the Barbary Coast. He is the typical pirate who prefers to resolve issues through violence rather than diplomacy.
Captain Chevalle, representing the Mediterranean Sea.
Unlike the other nine Pirate Lords, Chevalle prides himself on his physical appearance, wardrobe, and gentlemanly nature. Hailing from Marseilles, the trade capital of France, Chevalle was once a member of the French aristocracy.
Captain Jocard, representing the Atlantic Ocean.
Jocard, originally known as Gombo, was a cook who was sold into slavery. Eventually, Jocard led a slave revolt and, while escaping, encountered Jack Sparrow, who offered him a place on the Black Pearl. Jocard was eventually discovered by the enslaved people he helped free and became their new pirate captain, building an infamous reputation for himself.
Captain Sumbhajee Angria, representing the Indian Ocean.
Of all nine Pirate Lords, Sumbhajee Angria is by far the wisest, despite being a man of few words. Compared to the other Pirate Lords, Sumbhajee Angria has a much more regal appearance and is far more reserved by nature, although he is feared by many. He became known primarily for his attacks and eventual capture of many European merchant ships to collect "jakat", known to many locals as taxes.
Captain Eduardo Villanueva, representing the Adriatic Sea.
As one of the oldest Pirate Lords and members of the Brothers' Court, Eduardo Villanueva is considered a veteran and has little respect for younger pirates. He is known for his explosive temper and aggressiveness. The East India Company primarily sought him for gold theft and piracy, making him one of their most active pirates in this regard.
Captain Sao Feng, representing the South China Sea.
He controlled his sea routes from the public baths in Singapore. Cunning and shrewd, he did not shy away from danger, as revealed by the many scars marking his shaved head. Sao Feng became a Pirate Lord during the search for Shadow Gold, when he deposed his brother Liang Dao with the help of Jack Sparrow.
Jack Sparrow, representing the Caribbean Sea.
Jack is a familiar face, so there's not much to introduce about him, except that he's currently trying to steal a silver brooch from an unsuspecting pirate.
And finally, Rigel himself, representing the Caspian Sea, although Rigel, in fact, never sailed there, instead, he remained in the Caribbean without any shame.
Of course, Jack wouldn't complain, he could be considered the weakest among the pirate lords, his libertine lifestyle hardly capable of amassing a fleet worthy of the title of Pirate Lord.
[A/N: Wow, while searching for information about the pirate court, I discovered that there were children's books about it, I didn't know there were books about pirates in the Caribbean. I wish I had read them before starting this story, maybe next time. Anyway... I didn't delve too deeply into each character, but I think this is enough to build a mental image of each one.]
Rigel walked calmly, approaching the large globe, pulling Triton's Sword from his waist. Now without Triton's sapphire, it was merely a powerless sword, but still an artifact forged by Triton, better than most swords in this sea.
He plunged his sword directly into the globe, right above the empty Caspian Sea, representing his right to speak.
He turned to the group with a smile playing at the corner of his mouth. "Hello, my friends, hail your new king."
