Half an hour later, Rigel had cut down a giant tree to get firewood. How did he do it? With water, of course.
After the tree was cut down, the noise of it falling startled wildlife several kilometers away.
Rigel didn't mind, he used the water to chop it into smaller pieces until he had enough firewood for what he needed. He used his control over water to suck the water out of the wood, making it much easier to set it on fire.
He even picked up a branch when he realized it could be useful for wand making in his world, who knows, he couldn't tell if it was good wood without any Bowtruckles.
His bag wasn't large, so the "branch" he picked up was just a small fragment compared to the whole thing.
After that, he used the levitation spell to move the pieces of wood very close to the hive without alerting the bees. Will and Elizabeth also helped, together retrieving a "twig" with difficulty. Thankfully, without the weight of the water, it became much easier to carry.
Jack was carrying a huge dry leaf with difficulty, a strong breeze blew and almost carried the monkey flying along with the leaf.
Rigel used a water whip to catch the monkey, sighing at the trouble Jack was causing.
In the end, they achieved what they wanted, creating a huge bonfire after only a few hours of work. Elizabeth and Will were completely exhausted, sweating profusely. Rigel discovered that a strong physique had its advantages, he didn't feel very tired after the work.
When the wood was ready, Rigel lit it with a simple Incendio, the dry wood covered with dry leaves was incredibly easy to burn, so the fire grew incredibly fast.
Compared to his water magic, the fire's consumption was enormous and the result laughable, with his greatest magical power, it went from a candle flame to a torch flame. Compared to his water magic, it was laughable.
The group watched as the fire continue to grow, the smoke steadily increasing.
Rigel pointed his wand towards the hive and cast Ventus, the fire grew stronger as the smoke changed course.
The bees quickly realized something was wrong and scurried back to the hive.
As soon as they returned to the hive, Rigel kept it like that for another two minutes. Seeing that it must be good, he waved his hand, and a large amount of water flowed from his hands, beginning to extinguish the fire. Fortunately, the fire had not spread.
The bees should have been full by this point.
He smiled and looked at the beehive twenty meters high, and his smile froze.
Yes, how was he supposed to get there?
Will and Elizabeth seemed to realize this, the three of them stared blankly at the beehive for a moment.
Finally, Rigel sighed, his hands lowered as a stream of water gushed out. He wasn't propelled upward, but the water pooled beneath his feet, Elizabeth and Will, Jack already perched on Rigel's shoulder.
The next moment, they were carried upwards by the water, as if onto a water platform.
Elizabeth bent down excitedly, touching the water, seeing if she could get her hand through, while Will's eyes widened. "Darling, could you not try to cross the only thing that's keeping us in the air?"
Elizabeth rolled her eyes at him before speaking. "It's just water, Will, besides, Rigel won't let me fall."
Rigel simply wanted to say that he really wouldn't allow it, but that he preferred she remain silent, besides, the water itself wasn't stable enough to carry people, he needed to make it more 'solid' at the point where they were, and Elizabeth's constant movement was hindering it.
He then manipulated the water to trap the woman, leaving Elizabeth stunned, but a look from Rigel silenced her.
They soon reached the entrance of the hive, the water was running across the ground as they landed, the bees they saw were visibly more swollen, and their wings were beating continuously, trying to dissipate the smoke from the hive.
As soon as they saw Rigel's group, they tried to attack, but their slowness made the process difficult. Even so, they were still dangerous. Rigel didn't want to kill them, so he used Aguamenti again. This time, instead of concentrating on his finger, the water simply flowed from his hands, soaking the bees and making them even heavier. The three ran away while Rigel soaked the bees along the way.
The smell of honey was overwhelming, being inside a giant beehive was interesting in itself. As they ran, Elizabeth smiled excitedly.
Looking around with his sword already in hand, Will just wanted to ask to get off this pirate ship, literally.
--x--
When they reached the honeycomb, Jack was the first to jump in. He stuck his hand in and brought it straight to his mouth. Jack's eyes widened as he stuffed more honey into his mouth, getting all sticky.
Rigel ignored the monkey, approaching a honeycomb himself, seeing the honey trapped there from that perspective was truly surreal. He stuck his finger into a honeycomb, pulled it out, and brought the honey to his mouth.
His eyes lit up, this thing was delicious!
Looking at the enormous honeycombs around him, there was a ridiculous amount of honey there.
Elizabeth looked like Jack, continuously stuffing honey into her mouth, while Will simply tasted and ate it calmly.
Rigel, on the other hand, grabbed his water bottle with the extended space inside, he emptied it all before coming over, since water was the last thing he needed right now.
He began frantically filling the bottle as fast as he could. Elizabeth and Will also stopped eating and helped. Rigel had other bottles like that, but they only accepted liquids. He had to get rid of the milk and grape juice, but it was worth it.
The producers were forced to make the bottles this way, if they could accept anything, the value for using the traceless stretching spell would be even higher.
It was basically making the process more complicated to pay less 'tax'.
Unfortunately, getting honey into the bottles wasn't easy, it was extremely viscous, and they had quite a bit of trouble.
The smoke was beginning to clear, the bees were becoming more alert, and in the end they had to run away, chased by dozens of furious bees all at once.
Rigel didn't attack back, he was the thief there, so he could only run faster.
Elizabeth, covered in honey, laughed the whole time while Will unleashed a string of curse words, using every one he knew.
Emerging from the hive, Rigel quickly made a platform of water, the group jumped over it and flew away. The bees tried to pursue him, but Rigel sent a gust of wind, unbalancing them a few times before they gave up.
Finally, back on land, the three were covered in pollen and honey, Jack was covered in so much honey that he stuck to Rigel's clothes.
Elizabeth didn't mind at all, throwing herself on the floor and laughing even harder. "That was amazing!" She shouted excitedly.
Will sighed, shaking his head. He fell to the floor, sitting down, but a smile still formed at one corner of his mouth.
Rigel looked at the two of them, also smiling slightly, before feeling his whole body sticky. Pursing his lips, he began to quickly wipe himself off.
Sure, he cleaned them up too, especially Jack, who went hopping and shouting around covered in sugar.
In the end, after counting everything, they had managed to collect about 100 liters of honey.
It was a good harvest, an adventure to remember.
When they returned to the mountain camp that night, Rigel had already hunted a huge paca, cooking it without magic would be very complicated, so Rigel took responsibility for that.
The pirates ate well that night, eating paca meat with honey and rum, as well as all the giant fruits they found on the island, such as wild strawberries and blueberries.
It was a real feast.
