Reign
I narrowed my eyes at the door to Ragnor's study, the folder tucked under my arm and unease prickling at the back of my neck.
I shot Ryker a look as we walked into the hallway, searching his face to see if he'd noticed the same thing I had. My brother's jaw was tight and his mismatched eyes were narrowed.
"That was weird as fuck, right?" I asked. "Am I the only one who got the feeling that something was seriously off with him?"
Ryker grunted and rubbed the back of his neck, looking like he hadn't slept properly in days. The circles under his eyes seemed darker than usual.
"He's lying. I don't know what the hell about, but he's lying through his teeth. You see the way his hand was shaking when he signed those papers? Ragnor's hands don't shake."
"Exactly." I leaned against the wall and folded my arms across my chest, replaying the conversation in my head. "Ragnor doesn't get rattled like that."
