Chapter 146 - Chapter 146: You Smell Too Bad

Gurgle, gurgle, gurgle.

Zhao Wan'er heard the sound coming from beside her. Zhao Wan'er, Su Lan, Chu Xuan, and the others all turned to look at Xue Xiaoxiao's stomach.

Xue Xiaoxiao covered her little belly and pouted, "I haven't eaten much these past few days. If it weren't for Senior Su Lan giving me a nutrition meal she had saved earlier, I would have starved to death."

"Not to mention, we were all discussing this starship and the battle earlier. Now I'm really getting a bit hungry. Wait here for me for a moment." Zhao Wan'er walked toward the hangar entrance.

"Excuse me, excuse me." Zhao Wan'er finally managed to squeeze her way to the entrance, where she could smell the aroma wafting from outside. The scent was even more irresistible, stirring up her appetite.

Although she had taken some ingredients with her when she left Zhao Chen's starship earlier, she had long since finished them all.

After eating food made from natural ingredients, synthetic food tasted like a completely different world.

Over the past few months, she had lost ten pounds!

Ignoring the surprised looks from those around her, Zhao Wan'er walked straight out of the hangar door.

The half-beast female starship crew member guarding them didn't even react.

This scene left some of the people nearby stunned.

"Hey! Why can she leave?" a student from Tianyao Noble Starship Military Academy couldn't help but point at Zhao Wan'er's departing figure and ask in surprise.

Students from North Star Starship Military Academy who knew the inside story looked at the Tianyao Noble Starship Military Academy students as if they were idiots.

"She's our commander's sister. What do you think?" the half-beast female starship crew member said expressionlessly.

Sister?

The teachers and students from both academies who were unaware of this relationship were left dumbfounded.

So that was the connection.

Under their watchful eyes, the young girl walked into the starship dining hall, which seemed like a paradise to them.

Zhao Wan'er walked familiarly to the food counter and skillfully ordered enough food for four or five people at once.

Then she swiped her identity information.

After all, Zhao Wan'er was nominally registered in Zhao Chen's Fierce Dragon Fleet and was even the captain of the T2 Queen Bee-class Heavy Carrier Starship in name.

Plus, with the end of the month approaching, her food allowance standard was there—why not use it?

"Wan'er."

A voice called from behind. Zhao Wan'er looked over.

She saw Zhao Chen and Charlotte sitting at a table, with Zhao Chen waving at her.

Since it would take some time for the meal to be prepared, Zhao Wan'er walked over and sat down beside Zhao Chen. Her attention was immediately drawn to the all-fish feast in front of Charlotte.

She leaned close to Zhao Chen's ear and whispered, "Is Charlotte really from the White Tiger Clan? Are you sure she's not some kind of white cat or something?"

"I've been wondering the same thing," Zhao Chen nodded seriously.

"Charlotte... is a genuine... White Tiger Clan... bloodline!" Charlotte declared, a fish bone still dangling from her mouth, not yet fully cleaned.

Zhao Chen and Zhao Wan'er nodded simultaneously, pretending to believe her, but when their eyes met, they shared a knowing look.

"Are you going to stay in the hangar?" Zhao Chen asked Zhao Wan'er.

Earlier, while on the bridge, Zhao Chen had sent Zhao Wan'er a message, informing her that she could leave the hangar freely and was not under any restrictions.

However, Zhao Wan'er indicated that she would rather continue staying in the hangar.

"Um... I think it's more appropriate for me to stay with Senior Su Lan and the others for now. After all, it wouldn't feel right for me to sneak out and enjoy myself alone," Zhao Wan'er muttered.

Zhao Chen nodded. For now, he only allowed Zhao Wan'er and Chu Xuan to move freely on the starship, and even Chu Xuan's movement area was restricted.

As for everyone else, they would just have to obediently stay in the hangar.

"Are the teachers and students from both academies in the hangar very hungry?" Zhao Chen took a bite of his food and smiled at Zhao Wan'er.

Zhao Wan'er nodded. "But being hungry for a while won't kill them. I just wanted to bring some food to Senior Su Lan, Xue Xiaoxiao... and the others..."

As she spoke, Zhao Wan'er looked at her brother with some concern, worried that he might not allow it.

"They're your friends, so it's fine to bring them food. After we finish eating, I'll grant them Activity Permission for areas other than the hangar, including the adjacent Dormitory Area. You can take them to an empty dorm room to take a shower. Three days without bathing—you stink. Stay away from me; my meat doesn't even smell good anymore." Zhao Chen looked at Zhao Wan'er with disgust, even pretending to pinch his nose.

"Stink?" Zhao Wan'er was taken aback. She sniffed herself and immediately gagged.

Ugh...

Honestly, it was pretty overwhelming.

Normally, going three days without bathing wouldn't be a big deal, but the problem was that they had been living alongside the Zerg for those three days. Some of the Zerg's fluids had even splattered on them, and the smell was truly... indescribable.

"You actually think I stink... Well, I'll stink you to death!" Zhao Wan'er scowled, and in the next second, she lunged at Zhao Chen with flailing arms.

Zhao Chen held his bowl and leaned to the side, using his foot to press an empty bowl against Zhao Wan'er's face.

As for why he used an empty bowl...

Because Zhao Wan'er's face also carried a certain odor.

"Mmph... mmph..." Zhao Wan'er struggled.

But with Zhao Chen's current physical fitness, Zhao Wan'er was no match for him.

Soon, the chefs at the dining counter called out, as Zhao Wan'er had specifically said she would come to collect the food herself.

"Hmph! I'm going to bring food to Senior Su Lan and the others first!" Defeated and resentful, Zhao Wan'er stomped over to the dining counter.

Zhao Wan'er saw a food cart already prepared, loaded with the dishes she had ordered.

After thanking the chefs, she pushed the cart out of the Starship Dining Hall and headed toward the neighboring hangar.

The teachers and students from both academies gathered at the hangar entrance could only stare longingly, but when they saw Zhao Wan'er return pushing a food cart, they were surprised.

"Make way! Make way!" Zhao Wan'er's voice rang out before she even arrived.

"Step aside," a Half-Beast Female Starship Crew member helped Zhao Wan'er clear the crowd at the entrance, allowing her to push the food cart smoothly into the hangar.

As Zhao Wan'er's cart passed through the crowd, everyone could smell the delicious aromas wafting from it. Although the lids were on, they couldn't see what was inside, but one thing was certain—it was definitely delicious food!

"Sorry to keep everyone waiting," Zhao Wan'er said as she pushed the cart to Xue Xiaoxiao, who was staring eagerly.

Zhao Wan'er pressed a button on the cart, and it automatically unfolded into a temporary dining table with several seats around it.

Zhao Wan'er sat under the gaze of the faculty and students from both academies as she lifted the cover.

Instantly, the aroma spread throughout the entire hangar.

A plate of rice, and a plate of bread.

In the center were several plates of meat dishes: fish soup, pork rib soup, braised beef brisket, braised lion's head meatballs, pizza, braised chicken wings, potato pancakes...

Counting carefully, there were a full ten dishes!

And there was also a plate specially arranged with fruit—a few slices of cut watermelon and several bunches of grapes.

The sound of swallowing echoed from all around.

This meal was on par with that of a high-end restaurant!
