Chapter 2 - eating and troubles

The Blue Dragon's eyes were filled with satisfaction, like a large cat that had just eaten its favorite canned food.

With another worker added to her ranks, the happy Blue Dragon opened her large mouth, used her tongue to scoop up the little Young Dragon in front of her, and carefully held him in her mouth.

She then turned and placed him between the Violent Saber-toothed Lion, whose spine was torn but still possessed strong vitality, and the Giant Antelope, which had long been dead and whose body was stiff.

"Eat, my Baby Dragon , feast to your heart's content. I will look forward to your growth." The Blue Dragon turned and entered the cave, lazily lying down, her eyes half-closed as she watched the Baby Dragon eat.

The two beast carcasses in front of him were enormous compared to the Baby Dragon's size, but the Dragon's innate perception told little Kalon which target held more abundant energy.

Thus, the hungry Baby Dragon scrambled and rolled over the Violent Saber-toothed Lion's abdomen, starting his meal from the beast's torn spine.

He tore off the thick fur, which was tough enough for a Baby Dragon, until the abdomen was exposed, and then began to bite into the fattest part of the belly, eating heartily.

Splattering blood and fat did not affect little Kalon's appetite; when people are starving, they'll even eat dirt, let alone him, who was now a Dragon.

His physiological habits had an even greater impact, so the bloody, rusty flesh became a sweet delicacy, luring his greedy appetite.

After eating a large chunk of flesh from the abdomen, little Kalon burrowed into the Violent Saber-toothed Lion's abdominal cavity, carefully searching for the heart and liver.

He hadn't reached the point of eating anything and everything, wanting to avoid tearing his intestines and getting some strange taste on him.

For a Baby Dragon, internal organs were the most nutritious food for growth and development, and also the easiest to digest.

The rich nutrients could accelerate the growth of certain organs in his body that had not yet fully developed and matured; he had now become a feasting Dragon.

It wasn't until his belly was bloated like a pregnant toad that little Kalon stopped his feasting.

He began to lick the blood and flesh clean from his body and claws, then waddled over to the Blue Dragon Mother and lay down beside her.

His mind grew hazy after eating his fill, and sleepiness washed over him. He drifted into slumber, his consciousness returning to that familiar dream vortex, sleeping peacefully.

As one of the most nearly perfect creatures in this world, one of the most enviable traits of a True Dragon is that they do not need to meditate or train, nor do they need to venture out.

They only need to sleep peacefully in their lairs, and the a True Dragon's power will grow with their physical size, which, in theory, can be infinitely stacked.

A True Dragon's slumber is also a necessary process of gradually absorbing and digesting their inherent Draconic heritage, and as they age, they will also gradually awaken their own magical abilities.

Although the types of awakened spells are fixed and similar, the individual differences are also extremely significant.

However, it was not yet time for little Kalon to enter slumber; he was merely sleeping normally.

The baby Dragons need a few days to over ten days, depending on individual differences, for their bodies to adapt, for their physical coordination to develop, and for their organs to adjust.

Generally speaking, once a baby Dragon's horns, claws, and wing claws have hardened normally, and its scales have fully adapted, it is time for the baby Dragon to enter its first slumber.

Woo, the tiny baby Dragon opened his eyes, lazily spreading his pale pink, fleshy wings.

As his tail swayed, he yawned, exhaling a few sparks.

During their infancy, Red Dragons have dense, bright, and vibrant red scales, like tiny, exquisite ruby artworks. Even under the dim cave ceiling, their bodies emit a red glow.

Such a conspicuous color is a dangerous lure in the wild and is not conducive to the survival of young Red Dragons in the wild; predators would spot these noticeable Five-Colored Dragons first.

And prey would also escape early upon detecting the Red Dragon's arrival, so even though Red Dragon hatchlings can fight and kill adult humans with their strength and sharp teeth right out of the egg, without parental protection, they would only meet death.

However, little Kalon had truly lived a pampered life these past few days. He was served hand and foot—oh, no clothes—but food was certainly brought to his mouth.

Every day, he only needed to lie in the cave and sleep soundly with the Blue Dragon Mother, named Carlit, while another male Blue Dragon, named Akzi, was responsible for hunting, bringing prey on time every day.

Akzi did not live on this mountain peak; his lair was on the summit of a low mountain a few miles away from the Blue Dragon Mother's cave.

Akzi was the Blue Dragon Mother Carlit's suitor. The two Dragons met during their travels, and he was attracted by the Blue Dragon's graceful and slender body.

Thus, he was led by the Blue Dragon Mother to make a pact: Akzi would serve the Blue Dragon Mother, and upon reaching adulthood, he would have priority breeding rights with the Blue Dragon carlit.

After learning about this situation, little Kalon commented that Akzi was a gooner, a worker and a love-struck fool.

Perhaps no matter who it is, no matter how wonderful, there will always be some troubles in life.

Little Kalon's trouble came from another Female Red Dragon born a day after him: his sister, Klenaya.

The two eggs came from the same clutch, born not long apart, and were roughly the same size.

Klenaya had already started to challenge little Kalon, whether during feeding or resting.

Although they were both still Young Dragons, True Dragons could probably be called creatures born with inherent knowledge.

The Evil Dragon heritage in their minds naturally endowed Young Dragons with a relatively complete worldview and values based on the True Dragon race, so if you see a True Dragons always appearing stubborn and inflexible.

Do not doubt their intelligence; this is merely due to being too profoundly influenced by the Dragon heritage.

This is the True Dragon's inherent strength, and also its inherent flaw.

The Evil Dragon nature in their bloodline constantly influences True Dragons, making them more greedy, prone to rage, power-hungry, and always wanting to challenge the status of other Dragons.

Klenaya was already dissatisfied with Kalon's priority in feeding every time, dissatisfied that the sweet internal organs and tender abdomen were occupied by Kalon, while she could only chew on the hindquarters each time, even though the hindquarters were also a fatty part.

Not only that, Klenaya also wanted to establish a dominant position over Kalon. Red Dragons are naturally ambitious and are famously a matriarchal society.

Because of their laziness, powerful male Dragons simply couldn't be bothered to establish families; those powerful male Red Dragons only liked to be solitary, rampaging bandits.

Any families formed by Red Dragons are basically ruled by a Red Dragon Queen as the supreme leader, so it's understandable that a little Female Red Dragon would want to dominate a little male Dragon.

However, forming a family is not common for solitary Red Dragons who like to be bandits; it can be said to be very rare.

Even for a Female Red Dragons, only a few like to establish families, which is troublesome.

This is also one of the reasons why Red Dragon families are matriarchal; only Female Red Dragons are willing to form families, while male Red Dragons are just scumbags who like to freeload.

Kalon also didn't want to spoil this little Female Red Dragon, although he didn't care if someone rode on his back.

But what he cared about was the method of riding on him, and obviously, this method could not be accepted.

Nutritious food with abundant energy was one of the catalysts for his growth, and on this point alone, he would not yield to the little Female Red Dragon.

And although he had a stable consciousness formed in his original world, he was not a blank soul being imprinted with the Dragon heritage, and he consciously controlled himself more, avoiding further imprinting.

His current free will did not wish to be controlled by other factors, even his own body.

After all, he himself was a control freak. The difference was that many control freaks liked to control others, while he only controlled himself.

Even so, Kalon was deeply influenced by the Red Dragon bloodline in his body. Perhaps his will was not firm enough, or perhaps his autonomous soul was not strong enough.

He felt that he was also deeply troubled by the Red Dragon's inherent evil roots, and he had become more arrogant, impulsive, and belligerent.

The root of his troubles came from Klenaya's growth. Red Dragons are a matriarchal society, with many Queen Dragons who rule over True Dragons.

This Female Red Dragon of the same age was noticeably larger than male Red Dragons in the early stages.

Now, after several days of development and growth, Klenaya's size was already noticeably a bit larger than Kalon's at the same age.

If this continued, the size difference would become even more pronounced when the two baby Dragons passed their first slumber period. Perhaps by then, Klenaya would be a whole size larger than Kalon.

Although this situation only occurred in the early stages, much like how girls always develop earlier than boys.

In the middle and later stages, male Dragons would gradually far surpass female Dragons, but Kalon did not want to be suppressed in the early stages.

If he didn't find another way, the gap between him and Klenaya would grow wider and wider in the early stages, and he would eventually have to bow his head and admit defeat.

Kalon thought about the dream vortex his consciousness sank into every time he slept. He could feel that it was a gift from the old world and a present for his new life.

But he was like someone guarding a treasure vault without a key; he still couldn't figure out exactly what this gift was or how to use it.

Roar! Thinking of this, little Kalon's originally happily wagging tail stopped.

He drooped, his head resting weakly on the ground, letting out a disgruntled growl.

The Blue Dragon Mother, who was still sleeping with her eyes half-closed, was roused by the low growl. Her long tail behind her lifted and coiled, the tip gently tapping the little Young Dragon's head.

Kalon looked at the Dragon Mother's coiling tail, and his eyes suddenly lit up, his worries forgotten.

He pounced forward, baring his claws, biting the tip of her tail, kicking with all four limbs, and shaking his head as he tore at it.
