Chapter 1 - The Crystal of Destiny

The Crystal of Destiny

The night the sky broke, Aria was only a child.

She remembered the flames first. Then the screams. Then the strange, glowing light that filled the air like falling stars.

Her mother had held her tightly, whispering something she could never forget— "No matter what happens… you must run."

Before Aria could understand, the ground shook violently. A powerful force exploded from the ancient temple in the distance. A beam of light shot into the sky… and then shattered.

Five streaks of glowing energy flew across the world.

That was the night the Crystal of Destiny was broken.

Years passed.

Aria grew up in a quiet village, far from magic, far from danger—or so she thought.

But she was never truly normal.

Strange things happened around her. Lamps flickered when she was angry. Wounds healed faster when she touched them. And sometimes… she saw dreams that felt too real to be just dreams.

She always felt like something was calling her.

One evening, as the sun dipped behind the hills, Aria walked into the forbidden forest.

She didn't know why.

Her feet just moved.

Deeper and deeper she went, until she reached an ancient tree—huge, twisted, and glowing faintly from within.

And there it was.

A small, shining crystal piece, hidden between the roots.

The moment her fingers touched it—

A surge of energy rushed through her body.

Her vision blurred.

And suddenly, she saw flashes— A broken temple… a dark figure… fire… destruction…

Then a voice echoed in her mind:

"The balance is fading… you are the last."

Aria pulled her hand back, breathing heavily.

"What… is happening to me?" she whispered.

"You've finally found it."

A voice came from behind.

Aria turned quickly.

A tall man stood there, dressed in dark armor, his eyes sharp but calm.

"My name is Kael," he said. "And I've been searching for you."

Aria stepped back, clutching the crystal.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

Kael looked at her seriously.

"That crystal chose you. Which means… you are not just anyone."

He paused.

"You are the last guardian of the Crystal of Destiny."

Aria's heart started racing.

"This… this is impossible."

"It's already begun," Kael said quietly. "The darkness is returning. And if the five pieces are not found first… the world will fall."

Aria looked down at the glowing shard in her hand.

For the first time… she felt it clearly.

A pull.

A direction.

Like the crystal itself was guiding her.

Far away, in a land covered in shadows, a pair of glowing red eyes opened.

Varyn.

He smiled slowly.

"So… the last guardian has awakened."

Aria lifted her head, her fear slowly turning into determination.

"Where do we go?" she asked.

Kael gave a small nod.

"To find the remaining pieces."

A cold wind passed through the forest.

Something big had started.

And this was only the beginning…
