Chapter 37 - Chapter 37 – Hermione Becomes Slytherin’s Commander

The girl bit her lip tightly and refused to speak.

The atmosphere instantly became oppressive.

At that moment, Professor McGonagall and Professor Snape both arrived quickly from opposite ends of the corridor.

After hearing the entire situation explained, the two professors fell completely silent.

Especially after learning the exact rumours that had been spread—

Even Professor McGonagall's hands trembled slightly from anger.

"Miss Carlo."

Her voice became frighteningly cold.

"I think it's necessary for your parents to hear exactly what you said today."

Then McGonagall looked around anxiously.

"Where is Miss Granger now?"

Nobody answered immediately.

The little wizards exchanged uncertain looks with one another.

Only then did Sean suddenly remember.

Hermione had run away immediately after class earlier.

Which meant—

She might've already heard the rumours by then.

Without hesitation, Sean walked directly toward a nearby drainage pipe and tapped it lightly with his wand.

"Myrtle."

Several students immediately looked confused.

Then Sean calmly added:

"It's Sean."

The next moment, a faint blue face suddenly emerged from inside the pipe.

"Oh?"

Myrtle immediately looked delighted.

"Sean! Missing me already?"

Then she loudly added:

"We only just spent time together in the bathroom!"

The entire corridor instantly became deathly silent.

Countless eyes turned toward Sean.

Sean's expression twitched violently.

"Don't phrase things like that!"

He looked genuinely pained.

"We only talked!"

Then Sean immediately asked:

"Have you seen Hermione?"

Myrtle floated thoughtfully in circles for several seconds.

Then her eyes suddenly brightened.

"Oh!"

"You mean the crying girl with the exploded hair!"

Hermione's dignity suffered critical damage instantly.

"I saw her," Myrtle continued happily. "She's crying inside the third-floor girls' bathroom."

Then Myrtle sighed dramatically.

"Poor thing…"

Before disappearing again, she added resentfully:

"You never worry about me like that…"

Then she vanished back into the pipes.

Professor McGonagall looked at Sean with obvious approval.

"Very clever method, Mr Sebastian."

Then she immediately said:

"I'll send someone to retrieve Miss Granger."

Sean calmly shook his head.

"We'll bring her back ourselves, Professor."

His voice remained gentle.

"I don't think she wants to see certain people right now."

Professor McGonagall thought quietly for several moments before nodding slowly.

"That's reasonable."

Meanwhile, Snape stared coldly toward the trembling girl responsible for spreading the rumours.

"I will personally recommend your expulsion to the Headmaster."

His voice sounded terrifyingly emotionless.

Because among all professors, Snape hated bullying more than anyone else.

After all—

He himself had once been the victim.

Back during his Hogwarts years, James Potter and the Marauders constantly humiliated the Half-Blood Prince publicly.

And eventually—

They took Lily away too.

Sean glanced toward Snape briefly before silently leaving with the Slytherins.

With Snape personally involved now, this matter would definitely not end lightly.

.....

When Sean found Hermione inside the third-floor bathroom, her eyes were still red from crying.

But after an entire afternoon passed, she had calmed considerably.

Especially after learning the girl responsible might be expelled.

"Huh?!"

Hermione instantly became flustered.

"That's too serious!"

She immediately wanted to plead for mercy.

But Sean stopped her calmly.

"Hermione."

His expression became serious.

"This stopped being only between the two of you a long time ago."

Hermione froze slightly.

Sean continued quietly:

"The things she said crossed a line."

"Even Professor McGonagall nearly exploded from anger hearing them."

Then he looked directly into Hermione's eyes.

"If you defend her now, she won't appreciate it."

"She'll only hate you more."

Hermione opened her mouth slightly.

But eventually—

She quietly lowered her head and gave up trying to interfere.

Sean then suddenly smiled lightly.

"Alright."

He clapped once.

"Back to training."

Several nearby Slytherins instantly looked energised again.

Then Sean mysteriously added:

"The first team to clear Level One will receive a special reward."

Everyone's eyes instantly lit up.

"What reward?!"

"Tell us first, Boss!"

"We'll be more motivated if we know!"

Sean waved dismissively.

"It's boring if I spoil it now."

Then he smiled faintly.

"Just know it'll definitely benefit you."

Suddenly, Sean added another sentence casually:

"Oh, and the first few teams to clear Level One may qualify to challenge the second level with me."

Instantly—

The entire Slytherin group exploded.

Charlie nearly jumped.

"Then we absolutely have to win first!"

Hermione also became serious instantly.

"I'll do my best to lead everyone through."

The next moment, the training room activated once again.

.....

Inside the wasteland battlefield, Sean finally stepped forward personally to explain strategy.

"Every team must divide responsibilities clearly."

The surrounding students listened attentively.

"Who handles defence."

"Who handles control."

"And who focuses entirely on offensive output."

The students looked slightly confused by the strange new terminology.

Sean patiently explained:

"That way, once battle begins, everyone immediately knows their responsibilities."

"Commands become faster and more accurate."

Then Sean pointed toward the enemy side.

"You don't necessarily need birds immediately."

"But you must obstruct their vision."

His voice gradually sharpened.

"Once their sight is disrupted, don't give them breathing room."

"Overwhelm them instantly."

The surrounding students quickly began understanding.

Soon afterward, the entire training ground became noisier than ever before.

It almost resembled an internet café from Sean's previous life.

"Right side shadow-shifted! Lock him down!"

"Defensive spell now!"

"Blind them first! Birds or smoke!"

Compared with the chaos everywhere else, Hermione's team remained astonishingly calm.

Under her command, the other five students operated like a proper military squad.

Nobody panicked.

Nobody hesitated.

Control spells landed perfectly.

Attack timings aligned cleanly.

The only remaining issue was the final stage.

Once only one or two black-robed enemies remained, the surviving enemies became absurdly aggressive.

Their spellcasting speed increased dramatically.

Shadow-shifting became almost nonstop.

At that point, even Hermione's squad struggled.

But Sean could already tell—

Once they overcame that final problem, clearing the level would become easy.

After observing quietly for a while, Sean withdrew his attention and took out another skeleton.

"Today's the final day."

His eyes gradually became serious.

"This spell has to succeed."

Sean slowly raised his wand toward the skeleton before him.

A faint magical glow emerged from the tip.

Then magical threads slowly wrapped around the skeleton's bones.

Under Sean's control, the skeleton gradually began deforming.

Bone reshaped itself unnaturally.

Then suddenly—

Crack.

The entire skeleton instantly shattered into powder.
