Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 – Sean’s Wand

Wendell agreed immediately.

"Of course. It would be our pleasure."

Sean nodded lightly.

"Then you can continue shopping first. I'm going to buy my wand."

After separating from the others, Sean stood alone in front of a narrow, slightly shabby shop.

Ollivanders.

For countless Harry Potter fans, this place was practically sacred ground.

Even Sean hadn't expected that one day he would personally walk through those doors.

He took a deep breath to suppress the strange excitement in his chest before finally pushing the door open.

Jingle—

An ancient brass bell rang crisply overhead.

"Welcome."

A pale old wizard suddenly appeared from the shadows.

His silver eyes stared at Sean so intensely that it made him instinctively uncomfortable.

"First wand, little wizard?"

"Yes, sir," Sean replied politely. "Do you have any recommendations?"

"Recommendations?" Ollivander repeated softly.

A strange smile appeared on his face.

"No, no. The wand chooses the wizard."

Then he abruptly grabbed Sean's arm.

"Hold out your hand."

Before Sean could react, a measuring tape flew into the air and began rapidly measuring every part of his body.

Arm length.

Shoulder width.

Finger spacing.

Even the distance between his nostrils.

Sean's mouth twitched slightly.

Ollivander, meanwhile, seemed completely immersed in his own world.

"Yes… complicated soul…"

"Strong magic."

"Very strong."

"But not soft enough…"

He climbed a ladder with alarming speed and pulled down a long wand box.

"Laurel wood. Unicorn hair core. Eleven and three-quarter inches."

"Try it."

Sean reached out and grasped the wand.

The instant his fingers touched it—

Boom!

A terrifying surge of magic erupted violently from his body.

It felt like a dam collapsing.

A powerful wind exploded outward, knocking Ollivander backward while shelves throughout the shop trembled violently.

Several wand boxes crashed directly onto the floor.

"No, no, no…"

Ollivander immediately whipped out his own wand.

"Reparo."

A soft humming sound echoed through the shop as every fallen box instantly floated back into place.

The destroyed shelves restored themselves immediately.

Meanwhile, Sean slowly lowered the wand in shock.

That overwhelming magical power…

It had been inside him this entire time?

Ollivander looked both alarmed and fascinated.

"Not this one," he muttered quickly.

Then he hurried through the shop, pulling down wand after wand.

"Ebony and dragon heartstring…"

"No…"

"Vine wood…"

"Still wrong…"

Sean tested more than ten wands in total.

Some exploded with unstable magic.

Others remained completely lifeless.

None fit properly.

Even Ollivander himself began looking confused.

"That shouldn't be possible…"

The old wandmaker muttered while digging through shelves more frantically.

Then suddenly—

"Ah!"

Ollivander froze.

Slowly, he reached into a dusty corner and removed a wand without even a proper box.

It was unlike any wand Sean had seen before.

The wood possessed a faint jade-green colour, smooth and elegant like polished bamboo.

"Try this one," Ollivander whispered strangely. "It's the last."

Sean reached out carefully.

The moment his fingers wrapped around the wand—

Everything changed.

The wild magic inside his body instantly became calm and obedient.

Warmth spread throughout him like flowing water.

A soft green glow illuminated the shop.

Sean could even feel the wand resonating happily with him.

Ollivander's eyes widened.

"Incredible…"

He stared at the wand almost reverently.

"Ancient eastern bamboo wood. Core made from the feather of an Iron-Eating Beast."

Sean blinked.

Iron-Eating Beast?

Then he suddenly realised.

A panda.

Ollivander continued excitedly:

"A travelling eastern wizard left the materials behind many years ago. I originally intended to keep it as part of my private collection."

"I never imagined it had been waiting for you."

Sean looked down silently at the wand in his hand.

It truly felt… perfect.

Then suddenly—

Jingle.

The shop door opened once more.

A tall aristocratic man with long platinum-blond hair entered gracefully alongside a pale young boy of similar appearance.

Sean instantly recognised them.

Lucius Malfoy.

And Draco Malfoy.

"Mr Malfoy," Ollivander greeted calmly.

His tone instantly became much colder than before.

Lucius ignored him completely.

"I'm here to purchase my son's wand," he said smoothly. "I trust you'll choose carefully."

Draco stood proudly beside him, looking at the shop with obvious arrogance.

Sean calmly stepped forward first.

"Hello, Mr Malfoy. I'm Sean Sebastian, a first-year Hogwarts student."

Then he extended his hand politely.

Lucius glanced down at Sean.

At first, he looked indifferent.

Then his eyes narrowed slightly after noticing Sean's ordinary Muggle clothing.

A trace of disdain flashed across his face.

"A Mudblood child from a Muggle family…"

Before he could finish speaking, Sean slowly opened his palm.

The golden goblin communication seal shone faintly under the shop lights.

Lucius' pupils instantly contracted.

The colour nearly drained from his face.

Sean's expression turned cold.

"I suggest you think carefully before continuing that sentence, Lucius."

The atmosphere froze instantly.

Even Ollivander looked shocked.

Because that seal represented extremely high status within Gringotts.

Lucius immediately forced an ugly smile onto his face.

Then, incredibly, he bent slightly and shook Sean's hand politely.

"My apologies, Mr Sebastian," Lucius said smoothly. "It's an honour to meet you."

"I've been studying too much magic recently. Clearly it's affected my judgement."

Sean smiled warmly as though nothing had happened.

"Of course. Someone as important as Mr Malfoy must naturally be very busy."

Then he casually added:

"Actually, I wanted to ask whether you might be interested in financial products."

Lucius blinked.

"…Financial products?"

Hooked.

Sean almost smiled.

Raising his head again, he wore a completely serious expression.

"Yes," he explained calmly. "Leaving Galleons sitting inside Gringotts accomplishes very little."

"However, Gringotts is currently preparing several new investment programmes."

"As long as you participate, your assets can generate substantial returns."

Lucius frowned thoughtfully.

Pure-blood families valued wealth immensely.

And the Malfoys were famous for loving gold almost as much as power itself.

"If you're interested," Sean continued casually, "I can arrange for Gringotts to send you a formal proposal once the programme officially launches."
