Chapter 2 - System Neo and the Tutorial

"Hello." A monotone deep male voice spoke out of a holographic floating screen in front of every student in the class. A handsome figure dressed in all black clothing appeared in front of me. "My name is Neo, I am your planet's system for the tutorial and any of the upcoming events afterwards."

Being confused by the initial situation at hand, I swiped my hand across the system screen. Yet it didn't disappear. The system's face appeared once more.

"Please do not panic, as I can repeat any of this information or provide you with more knowledge on how the universe is soon going to function. All systems and planets will be undergoing interstellarization, meaning we will now connect planets through the means of the bubble universe theory."

I heard murmurs amongst my classmates, wondering if this was a joke, a prank, or a new form of technology. Interstellarization? Bubble what? Connecting planets? What's the point of connecting planets like Mars or Jupiter to Earth through the means of a floating system?

"Oh, who the hell is this guy?" I heard Pira whisper under her breath. A couple of other students do the same, some actively voicing out their confusion.

"Some people will be lucky enough to activate special powers, known as SPs, unique to themselves during events. These are called awakeners. Awakeners can become resonators if capturing the attention of the gods above in their dimensional plane. Gods can align themselves with you, thereby sponsoring you with powers known as godly powers, known as GPs, and more.

"Ms. Cane? Uh, so, what's going on here?" Justin Wang, a well-known black belt karate champion, whipped his head around to survey our teacher. Then he screamed.

Everyone collectively looked at Ms. Cane as well and screamed in unison. I was no exception, screeching at the sight that used to be our teacher just a second ago.

Her neck had been rigidly sliced off, with her decapitated head rolling on the wooden desk. Her fresh blood continued to splatter on her nearby monitor. This sight was straight out of a horror movie, no, even worse than a horror movie. And if you looked closely enough, you could see some slight twitches here and there in her fresh corpse.

Is this our reality? Am I dreaming? What is happening?

"The upcoming tutorial will help you adjust to your new life and new powers if you obtain them. Four events in total can appear in your soon-to-be new, changing life, as the tutorial will represent these. Do your best to survive."

Is this real?

People continued to shriek in increasing panic, calling out for help. Yet no one had the guts to try to exit the room, fearing that the next sliced head could be them.

"Phase one of the tutorial: MAIN EVENT, initiated."

Just what's going on?

"Main fucking event?" I shouted, ignoring my classmates' screams around me. I was also surprising myself with my ability to listen and read what the system was telling me.

"Correct, Lily Chang." How does it know my name? "Here are the rules and details for phase one. Phase one represents the main events. Main events affect wide areas, such as a building or a city. Please read carefully and complete phase one."

[ Phase one of Tutorial: Who killed who?

Classification: MAIN EVENT

Description: Someone in your classroom is now dead. You and the other students' job is to find out who killed whom. Find the mole and kill them for phase one to end. Or, kill someone else in this room, and your event is considered completed.

Time Duration: 10 minutes

Consequence of incompletion: Death

Reward: ??? ]

As all the students started to read the glitching text in front of us, I noticed two things.

Number one, I cannot read off of anyone else's system screen, only my own.

Number two, this is not a joke.

I lied. I also noticed a third thing, and it was the sound of screaming from the distant classrooms around ours.
