Azaroth was watching their expressions when they saw him point, and he was expecting them to dodge out of the way, to cower, or at the very least to feel surprise, but they just watched him flatly, like looking at your dog that's trying to do something.
He tried to pump essence into his formation, and he understood. It's as if there's a chain or a box around his core, preventing any essence from leaking through.
Not even a drop would come out. It's as if the whole world had been turned upside down. His cold expression threatened to crumble, and for the first time in a long while, Azaroth was really surprised.
The ability to use essence had been cut off somehow.
Something deep within him that he thought had long been buried clawed up and grabbed hold of his mind. Helpless. What happened to his mother, and he had no way to fight back, when everything was taken from him so easily.
