Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Cunning Evil Dragon!

"A Young Adult Copper Dragon at Rank 7 life level."

Garros fixed his gaze on the Copper Dragon flying straight toward him like a crimson sandstorm. He used the Life Level Detection Technique to confirm that its Rank was the same as his current one.

A Young Dragon.

Dragonkin between the ages of 16 and 25.

Garros couldn't determine its exact age, but judging from its roughly nine-meter body length, it fell into the category of a Young Dragon, or perhaps an exceptionally well-developed Young Dragon, though that was unlikely.

As for why the Rank of a Young Dragon was the same as his, a Young Dragon.

The reason was simple.

One cannot generalize the Physique of different Dragons.

In the hierarchy of Dragonkin.

Both Red Dragons and Iron Dragons were top-tier species.

Meanwhile, Copper Dragons ranked near the bottom among Metallic Dragons. At the same age, their Rank couldn't compare to a Red Dragon or an Iron Dragon, let alone an exceptional Hybrid Dragon like Garros. If it were a Young Adult Gold Dragon, it would be at least Rank 9.

The Copper Dragon didn't dive directly to attack Garros.

Instead.

It circled slightly before finally landing on a charred rocky terrace.

About a hundred meters from Garros, its spiral horns reflected the midday sun.

Tilting its head, it examined Garros's cracked scales.

The tip of the Copper Dragon's tail tapped the ground rhythmically as it paced back and forth, weighing its options.

A Red-Iron Hybrid Dragon nearly 7 meters long, Rank 7. Its body length is shorter than mine but it's so robust. Heavens, its wings look like a pair of lethal weapons; its heart must be incredibly evil.

It shouldn't be trifled with.

But I have three Alchemical Items gifted by my parents; they're more than enough to handle a stupid Evil Dragon of the same Rank.

After pondering for a few seconds.

A playful smile curled at the corner of the Copper Dragon's mouth. It stopped and stared at Garros, saying, "Oh, naturally evil Red-Iron Hybrid Dragon, it's now question time."

"Tell me, what requires both fire extinguishing and rust removal to survive?"

Among the five types of Metallic Dragons.

The personalities of Brass Dragons and Copper Dragons were the most annoying to other Dragonkin.

Brass Dragons were excessively talkative and chatty, enjoying tormenting opponents with words. When they had the upper hand, they would restrain their opponent—for example, burying them in the dirt with only their head exposed—and then force them to listen to their chatter.

Copper Dragons weren't as talkative as Brass Dragons.

But they particularly enjoyed teasing and playing tricks on enemies with jokes they thought were humorous, rather than starting a fight immediately.

If one encountered a Copper Dragon in the wild and accidentally offended it, as long as one could provide interesting jokes, stories, or riddles, there was a high probability of being forgiven or even gaining its appreciation and favor.

Meanwhile.

The Copper Dragon giggled.

"The answer is—you! The irritability of a Red Dragon combined with the rigidity of an Iron Dragon is simply the most failed recipe."

Its voice sounded quite crisp to other Dragonkin, like wind chimes in the desert. Its relatively balanced and slender build also indicated that this was a female Copper Dragon.

While speaking.

The Copper Dragon crouched slightly, its limb muscles tensing as it stood ready.

The Alchemical Item pressed under its tongue was ready to be activated at any moment to give the Red-Iron Hybrid Dragon a head-on blow if it charged in a rage.

But to the Copper Dragon's surprise.

The evil Dragonkin before it didn't play by the rules. It remained indifferent despite such provocation, instead flapping its wings and taking to the sky, flying away into the distance.

Garros ignored the Copper Dragon and had no interest in entangling with it.

Metallic Dragons valued family bonds.

When underage Dragons went out on adventures, they could obtain equipment gifted by their elders or certain life-saving Spells inscribed on the inner layers of their scales, often more than one.

With just a glance.

Garros noticed a thick gold chain around the Copper Dragon's neck and red rings hanging from the protrusions at the ends of its wings. Both shimmered in the sun, with dense runes faintly visible on them.

And those were just the ones visible.

Who knew if this fellow had any hidden Alchemical Items or Life-saving Magic Scales?

Unlike Gold Dragons who preferred fighting honorably by overwhelming others with power, Copper Dragons were somewhat cunning and insidious, similar to Green Dragons among the Chromatic Dragons.

Unless the benefits were immense or his life was at risk, Garros didn't fight battles he wasn't sure of winning.

"Hey! Are you a rare coward among Evil Dragons? Don't run!"

The Copper Dragon was stunned for a moment before flapping its wings to take off, relentlessly pursuing Garros.

To its surprise, its speed was far inferior to Garros's. His body looked thick and heavy, but those huge, exaggerated wings could fully support him and provide incredible flight power.

The distance between the two sides quickly widened.

"What incredible speed."

Its competitive spirit was ignited. The Copper Dragon was persistent, determined to make the evil Red-Iron Hybrid Dragon face justice.

The runes on the Fiery Red Rings hanging from the ends of its wings lit up one by one.

The color became vibrant, and the high temperature distorted the surrounding air.

The Fiery Red Rings became like red-hot irons.

Whoosh!

A cluster of flames ignited, rapidly extending and radiating until it spread to the Copper Dragon's wings, covering them in a layer of flowing fire.

As it flapped its wings, flames billowed.

The Copper Dragon's speed surged.

Garros looked back and noticed the Copper Dragon's current pair of flowing fire wings.

"An Alchemical Item that can attach flames, somewhat similar to my lightning tail ring."

He thought to himself.

"I want it. Let's test its level first."

A dangerous light flashed in Garros's eyes.

Suddenly turning his head, the Red-Iron Young Dragon opened his mouth and exhaled.

A cone-shaped burst of brilliant electric fire, composed of flames and lightning like countless flowers blooming along the way, erupted from his mouth. It was fast and accurate, shooting through the air toward the Copper Dragon.

The Copper Dragon was caught off guard.

By the time it reacted, the Electric-Fire Dragon Breath, originating from the Iron Dragon's Bloodline Legacy, was already right in front of it.

In terms of pure destructiveness, Electric-Fire Dragon Breath wasn't as good as a Red Dragon's Flame Dragon Breath, but it was faster and had a paralyzing effect, making its actual effectiveness better than Flame Dragon Breath.

At the critical moment.

The gold chain around the Copper Dragon's neck suddenly lit up.

A layer of Golden Shield appeared on its body, adhering to the surface of its scales.

Sizzle!

The Electric-Fire Dragon Breath hit the Golden Shield. The lightning and fire damage it carried were blocked, and the Golden Shield quickly dimmed.

The Copper Dragon veered sideways, avoiding the rest of the Electric-Fire Dragon Breath with lingering fear.

But it wasn't afraid; instead, it continued to pursue Garros.

Garros's breath failed to penetrate its defense, which made it feel even more certain that it could win against him.

"Insidious and evil fellow, in the face of absolute strength, a sneak attack is useless."

The Copper Dragon snorted, thinking to itself.

Arrogance and conceit were common traits among Dragonkin; Metallic Dragons were no exception, and these traits weren't exclusive to Chromatic Dragons or Ferrous Dragons.
