Chapter 34 - Report

In the morning I woke up. Fortunately, there were no nightmares today.

I remembered: today I had to submit my report about the Kaldrik.

I washed up and ate.

My arm still ached, even though it had been healed after the fight.

Finally, I headed to submit the mission report. The reward would most likely be higher than usual.

As expected, when I arrived, everything should have gone quickly, but the girl in charge of reports asked me to wait.

About fifteen minutes later, Margaret Hale arrived.

Not that it was surprising.

— Good morning, Professor.

I greeted her calmly.

— Good morning, Viren. Come to my office. We'll complete your mission report there.

— Yes, of course.

I agreed. I had nothing to lose except time.

---

In Margaret's office:

She sat at her desk without showing any unnecessary emotion.

— So, Viren. You were unlucky with this situation. Tell me everything in order: how you tracked him down, how you fought, and what collateral damage occurred. No omissions.

I began my report.

I didn't hide any details — at this point, it was meaningless, and I had already exposed my magic anyway.

When I finished, Margaret only nodded. She didn't look surprised — she had most likely already received the report in advance, and this conversation was just a formality.

— Viren, you were fortunate. That cultist belonged to a dangerous faction. If he had been even slightly stronger, you wouldn't have survived. But in the end, you eliminated the problem at its root.

She paused briefly.

— You will be rewarded for this. State what you want. The academy will fulfill your request as long as it remains within reasonable limits.

— Training in wind and earth magic. Priority to wind.

I answered immediately.

Mastering earth wasn't an issue for me — I could study it at home. But wind magic required either long self-study or rare publicly available resources.

— Understood. Anything else?

— No.

I hesitated slightly.

— When can I start the training? And what about academy credits? Will it be the promised 200? Will this mission count as a higher difficulty for rank progression? And also… what about the sect of that god?

I asked everything at once.

Margaret listened quietly without interrupting.

— You will receive answers to part of your questions later. For now, you may go.

Her tone remained calm and even, without pressure or emotion.

— As for the Blood Demon sect — don't worry. They have their own system. In short: Caldrik was not recognized as a full member.

With that, the conversation ended.

---

I left the office.

I would deal with magic styles later. For now, the important thing was to wait for the reward results and see how many resources I would get.

In the training hall, I met Jian Lei.

We greeted each other and exchanged a few words about our missions without going into details.

Then we decided to spar.

He had become faster and more precise. His strikes were tighter and more refined.

I had also improved.

In the end, the score was 4:4 — as usual.

We both held back: I didn't use magic, and he clearly had other tricks as well.

After that, we parted ways.

I returned to my room later than planned.

Tomorrow would be a new day. Then everything about the reward and training would become clear.

With those thoughts, I fell asleep.
