Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 — Tokyo Jujutsu Academy

After leaving the principal's office, Satoru Gojo led the group toward the dormitory area of Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College, commonly called Tokyo Jujutsu High.

"Nice! We both passed!" Yuji Itadori pumped his fist excitedly, the nervous tension from earlier completely gone.

"Don't celebrate too early," Gojo replied lazily, though the amusement in his voice was obvious.

"This is only the beginning."

"At Tokyo Jujutsu High you'll study cursed energy theory, practical combat training, and barrier basics. And you'll also be sent on real missions to exorcise curses."

"No problem!" Yuji declared confidently.

"I'm in great shape!"

Walking beside them, Yagami Sora silently observed the ancient campus buildings.

Despite Gojo's joking warnings about the difficulty, Sora knew something important:

For someone with a system like his, the fastest way to grow stronger was real combat against curses.

"This is the dormitory."

Gojo stopped in front of a quiet three-story building.

He pointed toward several rooms on the second floor.

"Sora, you're in Room 201. Yuji, Room 202. Megumi is next door in 203."

"Whoa! These rooms are huge!" Yuji shouted.

He immediately rushed inside and jumped onto the bed.

"It's way bigger than my place in Sendai!"

Yagami Sora entered his own room and calmly inspected the space.

The room was clean and simple.

A desk, bed, wardrobe, and a sliding door leading to a small balcony.

"Not bad."

He placed his backpack down and stepped onto the balcony.

From there he could see forests stretching across the mountains.

The campus felt secluded and peaceful.

Then—

Knock knock.

Someone tapped on the door.

Sora opened it.

Standing there was Megumi Fushiguro, holding two bottles of soda.

His expression looked slightly awkward.

"Um… Yagami."

Megumi handed him one of the drinks.

"Thanks for earlier."

"At Sugisawa High."

Although Sora had mainly been focused on his mission at the time, he had indeed saved Megumi from the Special Grade cursed spirit's attack.

Without that intervention, Megumi would have likely suffered severe injuries.

"You're welcome."

Sora accepted the drink and took a sip.

"We'll be classmates from now on. Let's get along."

"Me too! Me too!"

Yuji suddenly leaned out from his room next door.

"Should we go eat together?"

"I heard the cafeteria here is really good!"

"That sounds perfect," Sora said while rubbing his stomach.

His brain had been running high-speed calculations all day.

He was starving.

"Megumi?"

"…Sure."

Megumi nodded.

The Cafeteria

The three of them arrived at the school cafeteria.

Although it was already afternoon, the place still smelled incredible.

Yuji immediately rushed to the counter.

"I'll take the steak set!"

"I'll have the ginger pork," Megumi said.

Sora looked at the menu thoughtfully.

"I'll take all the desserts."

"And ten high-calorie meals."

The cafeteria worker froze.

Moments later, the table was overflowing with food.

Yuji and Megumi stared in disbelief as Sora devoured hamburgers and desserts at an alarming speed.

"Yagami… are you sure that's safe?" Yuji asked.

"My brain performs extremely heavy calculations," Sora replied calmly.

"It needs sugar and calories."

This wasn't an exaggeration.

Vector manipulation required immense mental processing, similar to a supercomputer calculating physics equations in real time.

Without enough energy, his brain would crash from exhaustion.

Megumi quietly sipped his soup.

"…This guy's a monster."

He mentally labeled Sora as "bottomless pit."

Just as they finished eating, Gojo appeared beside the table.

"Looks like everyone's getting along."

He smiled.

"Since you're full, I've got some good news."

Yuji tilted his head.

"What good news?"

"Tomorrow we're picking up the fourth first-year student."

Gojo raised one finger dramatically.

"She's a very cute girl."

"Huh?! Another one?" Yuji exclaimed.

"So I'm not the only transfer student?"

"Correct."

Gojo nodded.

"This year's class is unusual. Normally we only have one new student."

"A girl…" Yuji muttered.

"Hopefully she's nice."

Sora's lips curved slightly.

He already knew who it was.

Nobara Kugisaki.

Sharp-tongued.

Confident.

And extremely dangerous in battle.

The first-year trio was about to become a four-person team.

"Alright, everyone rest for today," Gojo said while clapping his hands.

"Meet at the school gate at nine tomorrow morning."

"We're heading to Harajuku to pick someone up."

"And after that…"

His grin turned mischievous.

"You'll receive a special welcome ceremony."

Yuji's expression stiffened.

"…Welcome ceremony?"

"That's right."

"A practical test."

Gojo's grin widened.

"Passing the principal's interview doesn't mean you're officially recognized."

"In the jujutsu world…"

"Strength is everything."

With that, Gojo casually walked away.

Leaving the three students staring at each other.

"A practical test…" Megumi muttered.

"Tomorrow might be rough."

"It'll be fine!" Yuji said optimistically.

"As long as we work together, we can handle anything!"

Sora gazed out the cafeteria window.

The sun was setting behind the mountains.

A faint excitement appeared in his eyes.

A practical test?

Perfect.

If he was going to live in this world—

He might as well show the jujutsu world what a real Special Grade looked like.
