Chapter 3 - First Mission

Leon was standing quietly on the same part of the beach where the strange system had first appeared. The warm sand was still under his feet. The glowing interface was still in front of his eyes. It was reflecting blue light on his face. Just a few moments earlier the system had changed itself in response to Leon's refusal of the original development paths, creating a new subsystem called the Penetration System.

The name alone had been unusual enough, but what truly interested Leon was how the system had adapted instead of forcing him to choose. That meant it could respond to his decisions rather than control them entirely.

A few steps away from him, the System Host was still shocked. She was no longer as confident and arrogant as before. Leon, however, did not care much about it. He was studying the interface. He was checking for functions and stuff he could find to use.

Just as he was about to speak again.

Ding.

A new window opened across the blue interface.

The text appeared slowly.

___

[First Mission Assigned]

Objective:Kiss a female.

Reward:Unlock Basic Status Panel.

___

Leon stared at the mission window for a moment, his expression unreadable.

Then his eyes slowly shifted toward the only other "person" present.

The System Host immediately noticed where he was looking.

Her brows narrowed slightly as suspicion crept across her face.

"Candidate Leon," she said firmly, raising a hand as if to stop him before he moved. "Let me clarify something immediately. I am a system projection. I am not a physical entity and therefore cannot be considered a valid mission objective."

Leon said nothing.

He simply kept looking at her.

"You are expected to interact with inhabitants of the island," she continued. "Not with the system interface itself. I suggest you search for—"

Leon stepped forward.

The sudden movement interrupted her sentence.

The Host blinked in confusion as he closed the distance between them in just a few calm strides.

"Candidate Leon, what exactly are you—"

He reached out and wrapped an arm around her waist.

For a brief moment the System Host's composed expression completely collapsed. Her eyes widened as she realized what he was doing.

"Wait—"

Leon leaned forward.

And kissed her.

Full tongue.

Mouth to Mouth.

Saliva dripped everywhere from his tongue. He did a full rotation in her mouth with his tongue.

The moment lasted only a few seconds.

Yet during that brief instant the usually composed System Host froze completely, her entire body stiff with shock. Her mind, which had likely guided countless candidates before him, seemed unable to process what had just happened.

Leon eventually pulled back, releasing her waist as if nothing unusual had occurred.

The Host remained perfectly still.

Her expression looked utterly blank.

Then the reaction came.

"What in the world do you think you are doing?!" she shouted, her calm demeanor completely shattered. Her voice rose sharply as anger flooded her face. "You cannot just grab the system host like that! I am not part of your mission objectives! I am an administrative interface!"

Leon shrugged lightly.

"The mission didn't say that," he replied.

The Host looked ready to continue scolding him when the familiar sound interrupted her mid-sentence.

Ding.

Both of them looked toward the interface.

A new notification appeared.

[Mission Completed]

Silence fell across the beach.

The Host slowly turned her head toward the glowing message as if she suspected it might vanish if she looked too quickly.

But it didn't.

The words remained.

[Objective Successfully Completed]

For the second time since appearing, the System Host looked completely stunned.

"That… that shouldn't…" she muttered under her breath.

Leon folded his arms, watching her reaction with clear amusement.

"Looks valid to me," he said.

Another notification appeared across the interface.

[Reward Granted: Basic Status Panel Unlocked]

The glowing screen shifted again as a new panel opened in front of Leon.

[Bonus Reward for Good Completion : Skills Unlocked]

"... Bonus for what???" The System spirit looked confused.

"Of course, for my 10/10 kiss, beauty." Leon smirked.

Then, rows of information appeared one after another.

Leon studied the panel carefully, his eyes moving slowly across each category. The numbers themselves didn't mean much yet, but the presence of structured attributes suggested the system measured more than just physical ability. Intelligence, mind power, charisma… even subtle traits had apparently been quantified.

One entry caught his attention.

Flirting (Passive).

Leon chuckled quietly.

"Well," he said, glancing briefly toward the still irritated Host, "that explains something."

The Host shot him a glare but said nothing.

Leon dismissed the panel with a simple hand motion, causing the glowing window to fade away.

Standing around on the beach wasn't going to solve anything. The island stretched far beyond the shoreline, and if the system was going to give him missions or resources, then exploring seemed like the logical next step.

Without waiting for further instructions, Leon turned toward the jungle and began walking.

The air grew thicker with humidity as he approached the tree line. Tall palms and dense vegetation formed a natural wall separating the beach from the island's interior. Strange birds called from somewhere high above while insects buzzed faintly through the warm air.

As Leon stepped into the shade of the trees, the system chimed again.

Ding.

A small notification appeared.

[New Area Discovered]

Leon continued walking.

Another notification followed moments later.

[Resource Identified: Wild Fruit Tree]

He stopped to see a nearby plant with broad leaves and small yellow fruit hanging from its branches. The fruit was unfamiliar, but the system interface marked it with something green.

A third message appeared.

[Exploration Progress +1%]

Leon smiled slightly.

"So that's how it works," he said.

As he moved deeper into the jungle, Leon began paying closer attention to everything around him. There were broken twigs, soil, and paths between trees. They began appearing in his path.

After nearly half an hour of walking, Leon suddenly stopped. Something ahead caught his attention. A faint trail in the grass. It looked worn, as if people had walked along it repeatedly.

Leon crouched slightly, examining the ground.

The plants here were bent in the same direction and a few branches nearby had clearly been cut cleanly with tools. This was not random.

Someone had been here before.

Leon straightened slowly and continued forward, following the faint trail through the trees.

A few minutes later he noticed something else. A column of smoke was coming from somewhere. He slowed as he approached a small ridge covered with low bushes. Pushing the leaves aside, Leon looked down into the valley beyond.

And froze.

Below him sat a small village.

There were wooden huts which were in a circle kind of manner around the central part of the village. Then, he saw humans and realized he was not alone on the island.

At that exact moment the system chimed once again.

Ding.

A notification appeared quietly before his eyes.

[New Discovery: Human Settlement]

The notification came.
