SERAPHINA'S POV
It didn't take long for Lucas to slam the door open again.
The sound cracked through the room like thunder, making me flinch violently despite everything I had endured lately.
My body reacted before my mind could stop it shoulders jerking, breath catching, the fresh wounds on my arm screaming in protest.
I hated that I still flinched. After all the pain, all the blood, all the lies… I still couldn't control the fear completely.
"She's tied up already, Seraphina," Lucas said, his voice rough and edged with desperation as he paced the room like a man on the verge of breaking.
His eyes were wild, hair disheveled, the usual calculated arrogance completely gone. "Let's hope this doesn't ruin the entire clan, because I am desperate now."
"It won't, Lucas. Trust me," I replied, keeping my voice steady even though my heart was racing.
I forced a small, reassuring smile. "You only have to make a deal with him. Promise he won't attack later.
