Ryan's POV
Perhaps he should have taken her someplace less flashy. But to Ryan, Vivian deserved only the best. He would not have her dining at a lesser place when he could afford to take care somewhere better.
She was eons above most people that Ryan knew, and he wanted to show her that. But that did not change the fact that she was nervous. It had shown when he'd had to sweet-talk her into following him deep into the restaurant instead of leaving, and now it was showing in the food that Vivian had ordered.
In the time that they had known each other, Ryan liked to think that he had picked up a few things about her, and one of those things was that Vivian enjoyed food. So seeing her pick at the things that she had ordered and having to force herself to swallow them was too much for Ryan to bear.
When they got to their main course and he saw her struggling with the bland chicken breast that she had specifically ordered, Ryan could not take it anymore.
