[Rin: I have an idea! Why don't we go to a fast-food restaurant? I'll even pay for you!]
[Kuro: Oh, okay, I guess...]
Rin's playful demeanor falters a little when he notices that Kuro doesn't seem to be enjoying himself. Kuro tries to look positive when he sees Rin's worried expression, but it's too late.
[Rin: Is there... something wrong?]
[Kuro: No, no, no! It's just... I'm not used to dating men. That's all. I'll be fine in a few minutes.]
[Rin: It's good to hear that you'll be fine in a few minutes!]
Kuro scoffs at his childish comment, but the truth is, he is surprised that Rin cares about him that much. He is not used to being cared for.
They both head to a fast-food restaurant nearby, with Rin talking about random things along the way. When they enter the restaurant and order some food, Kuro can't help but notice how much Rin orders. It doesn't seem possible that a slim guy like him can eat all that in a single meal. If Kuro ate that much every day for a week, he would become fat—even though he exercises daily.
They both start eating in silence. The only sounds come from the traffic flowing outside and Rin eating his food like he's devouring a live animal.
[Rin: I really like this place—they cook the best! I eat here every day!]
[Kuro: You eat here every day? Isn't that unhealthy? Why don't you cook at home instead?]
[Rin: I don't know how to cook, so... hehe...]
Kuro can't believe his eyes. He didn't think Rin was even capable of getting embarrassed, but he looks completely flustered right now. He also feels a pang of embarrassment because of how he worried about him.
[Rin: Maybe you can teach me how to cook properly someday! Would you?]
Kuro stares at Rin blankly. Someday?! Does this guy think we'll ever meet again after this? These thoughts race through his mind. He can hardly tell if Rin even understands what all this renting a boyfriend means. Since Kuro assumes they won't see each other again after this date, he accepts the offer.
Moments later, the restaurant falls silent. Not a single sound or voice breaks the quiet. Neither of them can find a topic to talk about. Then Kuro hesitantly asks:
[Kuro: Why did you rent a boyfriend?]
[Rin: Because I feel lonely most of the time. People don't want to talk to me. Probably because of my pink hair.]
Kuro finds his childish comment hilarious. It's definitely not the pink hair. Still, he empathizes with him a little. It must be hard to feel so lonely. Then Kuro asks another question just to keep the conversation going.
[Kuro: Did you rent a boyfriend as a friend, or as an actual boyfriend?]
[Rin: So you're basically asking me if I'm gay or not? Find out yourself~]
Rin grins widely, making Kuro immediately regret asking that. Rin seems determined to keep the playful banter going.
[Kuro: You're definitely gay.]
[Rin: Hey! That was quick! And true...]
Rin blushes slightly, which only makes Kuro dislike the date even more. Rin seems to be enjoying it a lot, but for Kuro, it's the complete opposite.
Silence settles over them once again. They still can't find anything to talk about, yet Rin somehow continues to enjoy the date. Then Kuro suddenly comes up with another topic.
[Kuro: Sooo... where are we going to continue our date?]
[Rin: I don't have any ideas...]
Then Rin's face lights up—a sign that he has come up with something. His cheeks flush slightly, and he grins before sharing his idea, which immediately worries Kuro.
[Rin: Let's go to a love hotel!]
[Kuro: HELL NO!!!]
[Rin: Why nooot??]
Kuro can't believe what he's hearing. Is this guy seriously suggesting a love hotel?! The date was already bad, and now it's getting creepy. Still, Kuro doesn't want to hurt his feelings for no reason, so he quickly comes up with an excuse.
[Kuro: I-it's prohibited, according to the rental boyfriend app.]
[Rin: Oh... then I guess I need to think of another idea!]
Kuro can't make sense of it. What is going on right now? Rin is acting weird and kind of creepy, but it doesn't seem like he has any bad intentions. What is up with this guy?!
