Arghhh. My ears are still ringing. I've been listening to my father complain for almost two hours.
He got teased by his friends the whole day because of my video. The way he was shown there made him look like a lazy dad, so it was understandable why he got bullied today.
I just listened to him without saying a single word.
You see, when your parents are angry and start lecturing you, the best way to shorten it is to stay quiet. The more you challenge their authority, the angrier they become.
After getting home, I decided to start writing a plan for tomorrow.
I still think it's better to have a script when making vlogs. Like what happened in the last one, only thirty minutes of the footage were actually useful. If we had a script, we could avoid what people call dead air.
Only after an hour did I finally decide to sleep.
---
The next morning, the same thing happened when I entered school.
Students greeted me, and even some teachers said hi. Others even started conversations with me, which was something that rarely happened in my previous life.
The morning had barely started, and I was already tired.
Now I had more respect for famous celebrities from my past life. If I was already drained from being a school celebrity, then how exhausting would it be to become a real one?
Class started peacefully.
Then—-
"Hey, look what I have here!!" Jester shouted.
"The hell, man?! Where did you get that?!" Joms shouted back as he jumped around excitedly like he had found treasure.
"Hey, do you know how to play?" Calvin asked while touching the guitar. The sound it creates really shows that Calvin doesn't have talent in music. I even heard him once sing. I felt like I was listening to animals screeching.
"Of course!! My oldest brother taught me when I was young. He got bored, so he tortured us by making us learn guitar. My other brother is also really skilled at playing this. This guitar is his," he said proudly while showing it to us.
"My own guitar is bigger than this one, so I was too lazy to bring it here. That's why I borrowed my brother's."
He started strumming.
Jester played a few strings, filling the classroom with a pleasant melody. His fingers moved smoothly as if he were playing a piano.
The room slowly quieted down as students turned their attention toward him.
"Oy… he actually knows how to play," Ernest muttered in surprise.
Jester smirked proudly.
"What did you expect from me?"
"You expect us to believe that someone with your face can actually do something useful?" Joms laughed.
"Shut up! You look worse than me!" Jester fired back.
The class burst into laughter while Jester continued playing.
I looked at the guitar curiously.
Back in my previous life, I had always wanted to learn how to play one. But I had no friends back then, so nobody could teach me.
I always thought people who knew how to play guitar were cool.
Then suddenly, Calvin looked at me.
"Hey, Brier, why don't you sing?"
I almost choked.
"What?"
"Yeah!" Joms agreed instantly. "You already became famous because of your video. If we add your singing talent which is second only to mine you'll become even more famous for sure!"
"The hell do you mean second to you? You can't even produce a proper sound. I've heard cows with better voices than yours," I replied immediately.
I requested the song "Pare Ko" by Eraserheads.
Instead of choosing something complicated, it was better to sing a song everyone could join in on.
The entire classroom stared at us expectantly.
Then Jester started strumming.
The timing was perfect, and the tempo was good. He really was skilled.
After the intro finished, I started singing the first verse with perfect timing.
The classroom slowly became quiet.
Everyone listened to us play.
The first part of the song had a slow tempo, so the only things I could hear were my voice and Jester's guitar.
The atmosphere completely pulled me in, and I unconsciously started putting more emotion into the song.
When the bridge started, I began hearing students tapping their desks.
Everyone was keeping the beat while clearly waiting for the best part.
Then, just before the chorus started, everyone took a deep breath.
With one loud strum—--
Everyone suddenly started shouting the chorus together.
Some people might find it weird because the song was clearly about heartbreak and someone ranting to a friend.
Something I doubted most students here had actually experienced yet.
However, the moment they sang the chorus, everyone shouted their lungs out as if they had gone through it firsthand.
Tables slammed loudly while others jumped around excitedly as they sang along.
The atmosphere became wild and fun, and I decided to join in completely.
We totally forgot where we were.
Then suddenly—------
A loud slam echoed through the classroom completely offbeat from the music, instantly waking us all up.
Everyone froze.
Then chaos erupted.
Students rushed back to their seats as if they had just been caught breaking curfew.
Unfortunately, our group of ten was standing right at the center of everything, so we got tangled up and failed to escape in time.
Considering our reputation as problem children, plus the fact that Jester was still holding the guitar while Joms somehow ended up holding a broom for no reason…
There was absolutely no way we could deny being the ones who started the chaos.
"We're so dead now, aren't we?" Roie said while raising his hands like a criminal surrendering.
"It was Jester's fault!!" Joms shouted before the teacher could even ask what happened.
"You all go to the faculty office!!!"
"Ayy, again?" Calvin muttered.
That statement made me freeze.
Like I said earlier, never challenge someone's authority when they're angry. They'll only burn you harder for it.
"Why? Do you have a problem with that?" the teacher asked while slowly turning her head toward us.
Her voice sounded terrifying, like we were being stabbed by a million knives.
She was clearly even more pissed off now.
Everyone got goosebumps.
"Hey! I'm asking you! Do you have a problem with that?! Do you even know what you're doing? Haven't you read the school handbook?-------"
The lecture started before we even reached the faculty office.
The entire class got dragged into it.
If Calvin hadn't spoken, only the ten of us would've taken the blame.
But now the whole class got involved.
Maybe that was a good thing if you looked at it from another perspective.
Fair and equal treatment for everyone.
However, if you looked at it another way, ten people taking the blame would've saved the other twenty.
After all, we were the ones who started it.
The others only joined because we did first.
After several minutes of nonstop lecturing, the teacher finally got tired.
"Everyone will report to the guidance counselor," she announced to the entire class.
Then she looked directly at us.
"And I want to see your parents this Friday afternoon."
She left afterward to report everything to the guidance counselor.
This time, I really wanted to say it.
"AYY, AGAIN?!!!"
