Chapter 115 -  The Enraged Garchomp — Gengar Nearly Beaten to Death

Looking at the terrifying, bloodthirsty Champion-level Garchomp before him, the super-ancient Gengar was instantly dumbfounded.

"This is just an ordinary Pokémon… so how can its strength be this monstrous?!"

The super-ancient Gengar fell silent for a moment—

Then immediately turned around and tried to flee.

Although his Gigantamax-like body and overwhelmingly powerful giant techniques allowed him to dominate even among Elite Four-level Pokémon—

What he faced right now was Cynthia's Champion-level Garchomp!

And not just any Champion Pokémon either—

This was Cynthia's ace.

Even among Champions, Garchomp was considered one of the strongest.

The super-ancient Gengar felt utterly miserable.

I just revived!

How did I immediately run into this kind of monster?!

"Hmph! This god has only just broken free from his restraints. My strength has yet to return to its peak!"

"I shall spare you for today and battle you another time!"

After shouting those words, the gigantic Gengar turned tail and ran.

Its enormous body surprisingly did nothing to slow its escape speed.

Garchomp immediately gave chase.

Seeing that he couldn't shake Garchomp off, Gengar suddenly grinned sinisterly.

Then slowly—

Very slowly—

Raised his rear end.

A foul-smelling black mist burst out instantly.

The horrifying stench was so overwhelming that even Garchomp had no choice but to retreat.

"Gahahaha!"

"You want to chase me?!"

"Then eat this god's fart!"

Seeing the method Gengar used to release Black Mist, Red nearly burst out laughing.

But after noticing Cynthia nearby, he forcibly restrained himself and said with a perfectly serious face:

"As expected of a creature that survived from ancient times."

"It actually found a way to use Black Mist in such a disgusting manner."

Then Red shook his head.

"Unfortunately…"

"It picked the wrong direction to run."

Ahead of Gengar—

Mewtwo floated there with arms crossed, looking down at him with complete disdain.

Like staring at a pile of trash.

Yet when the super-ancient Gengar saw Mewtwo blocking the path, he became delighted instead.

"I may not be able to defeat that Garchomp…"

"But do you seriously think the great Gengar God can't crush you?!"

"GET LOST!"

Clearly, as a super-ancient Pokémon, Gengar had absolutely no idea who Mewtwo was.

He simply assumed it was some ordinary Psychic-type Pokémon.

"Get lost?"

Hearing Gengar's words, Mewtwo slowly spread its arms.

An overwhelmingly terrifying psychic force instantly slammed Gengar flat onto the ground.

Even Gengar's gigantic thirty-meter body looked like nothing more than a toy before Mewtwo.

Pinned to the earth, Gengar finally sensed Mewtwo's aura clearly.

His brain froze.

For several full seconds, he completely blanked out before finally recalling the suffocating terror buried deep within his ancient memories.

"L-Legendary… legendary Pokémon-sama?!"

The super-ancient Gengar was completely stunned.

Although he constantly referred to himself as "Gengar God" and "divine being"—

During his countless years of existence, he had encountered true legendary Pokémon before.

And the absolute, insurmountable difference in power had left a permanent scar in his soul.

Gengar looked at Mewtwo before him—

Then glanced back at the furious Champion-level Garchomp behind him.

He felt like he was about to faint.

I only called myself a god!

That wasn't even uncommon in ancient times!

So why did I run into these two monsters?!

"O great and supreme legendary Pokémon-sama!"

"I didn't know this was your territory!"

"I was wrong! I truly know my mistake!"

"Please spare my life!"

Looking at the groveling Gengar, Mewtwo waved a hand.

Countless Aura Spheres instantly materialized in midair.

"Didn't you just tell me to get lost?"

"Now enjoy the taste of Aura Sphere."

The endless barrage of Aura Spheres descended like aerial bombardment.

In an instant, Gengar's gigantic body was completely swallowed by explosions.

The massive physique he once took pride in had now become the perfect target.

"AAAAAAHHHHHH!"

"IT HURTS!"

"IT HURTS TOO MUCH!"

"Legendary Pokémon-sama, I was wrong! I truly know my mistake!"

"AAOOOWWW—DON'T BOMB THAT AREA!"

Watching the charred, gasping super-ancient Gengar sprawled on the ground, Mewtwo's mood finally improved slightly before turning away.

Although every inch of Gengar's body felt like it was on fire—

His heart was overflowing with joy.

Because—

He was still alive.

And to Gengar, as long as he lived, there was still hope.

Just as the super-ancient Gengar finally relaxed—

Another figure slowly descended before him.

It was Garchomp.

The same Garchomp he had forced back earlier using his "Black Mist."

At this moment, Garchomp's eyes were blood-red.

The furious aura radiating from her was several times more terrifying than during her fight against Mewtwo.

Originally, after getting smacked around by Mewtwo earlier, Garchomp had already been bottling up a mountain of frustration.

And Gengar's disgusting behavior had completely ignited the fuse.

"RAAAAAAHHHH!!!"

The super-ancient Gengar immediately released pig-like screams of agony.

Garchomp unleashed nearly every move she had directly onto Gengar's gigantic body.

Watching the enraged Garchomp, Red opened his mouth as though wanting to say something.

But in the end, he merely sighed helplessly.

"…Sigh."

"Hopefully this Gengar is sturdy enough."

"Otherwise it might genuinely get beaten to death."

The brutal, flesh-smashing beating continued for nearly half the entire day.

One could only say that Gigantamax-style Pokémon truly possessed absurd HP pools.

The super-ancient Gengar somehow survived.

Though at this point—

He was barely breathing.

Seeing this, Red sighed helplessly again.

"Well, since you're already dying…"

"Let Mewtwo send you off properly."

The instant Red finished speaking—

The nearly-dead Gengar suddenly opened his eyes weakly.

"Wait…"

"…I can still be saved."

Just as Garchomp was about to step forward for a few more punches—

Another ancient seal suddenly lit up within the ruins.

Apparently sensing Gengar's aura, the mediator among the ancient trio—

The super-ancient Jigglypuff—

Finally awakened as well.

The moment the giant Jigglypuff opened its eyes—

It was greeted by Garchomp's claws.

The super-ancient Jigglypuff didn't even understand what was happening before being knocked flat instantly.

Then Garchomp began another savage beating.

Watching Jigglypuff get pummeled, Red looked toward Gengar.

"You're pretty lucky."

"Someone came to share the aggro."

"So you probably won't die anymore."

Hearing Red's words, the super-ancient Gengar finally lost consciousness completely.

But just before fainting—

A blissful smile appeared on his face.

"Thank goodness…"

"…I'm not going to die."

After venting her anger on Jigglypuff for quite a while, Garchomp finally calmed down somewhat.

She walked back toward Cynthia and immediately returned into her Poké Ball.

Cynthia gently stroked Garchomp's Poké Ball with a mixture of heartache and amusement.

Then she looked at the two collapsed super-ancient Pokémon—

And the ruins that had now become complete rubble.

A trace of regret appeared on her face.

"What a shame."

"An entire super-ancient ruin was destroyed."

But soon afterward—

Cynthia's attention shifted beyond Mewtwo.

More accurately—

Toward her arranged fiancé, Red.

Looking at the two super-ancient Pokémon, Cynthia curiously asked:

"Gym Leader Red…"

"Do you know the origins of these giant Pokémon?"

Red smiled faintly.

"I know a little."

Then he glanced around at the now utterly demolished ruins before continuing:

"Since the ruins are already destroyed anyway…"

"How about heading to the Gym first and resting there?"

Faced with Red's invitation, Cynthia hesitated briefly.

But in the end—

Curiosity won out.

She nodded gently.
