Chapter 71 - Chapter 72: Anna's Secret out. Part 1.

In the city hospital, Doctor Anna Wyndham had built quite a reputation. She was known as the doctor who never lost a patient—no matter how critical their condition. This miraculous track record had earned her the nickname The Witch Doctor.

The name was whispered behind her back, a mix of admiration and suspicion. Her colleagues couldn't understand how she managed to save so many lives. Over time, several of them launched quiet investigations, desperate to uncover her secret.

But no one ever found answers.

Patients healed by Anna were questioned, their medical records scrutinized. Tests and follow-ups were conducted, yet every lead turned into a dead end.

The truth was, Anna was meticulous. After healing a life-threatening injury, she would create a smaller, less severe wound to cover her tracks. It looked natural and diverted suspicion. This careful approach kept her abilities hidden from prying eyes.

Still, some doctors remained unconvinced. They believed Anna's skills were far from ordinary and were determined to expose her.

Doctor Guity was one of them.

Doctor Guity stood in Anna's office, dagger in hand, pointing it directly at Anna and Sera, who had backed away against the wall. His eyes were wild, filled with a dangerous determination.

"Have you lost your mind, Guity? What do you think you're doing?" Anna shouted, her voice echoing in the room.

"I'm getting the truth," Guity replied coldly. "I'll cut you into pieces and watch you try to use your little trick on yourself. Talk now, or I'll force it out of you," he threatened, taking a menacing step forward.

Without hesitation, Sera moved in front of Anna, shielding her.

"If you want to get to her, you'll have to go through me first," Sera said, her voice steady and firm.

Guity grinned, amused. "Piece of cake," he sneered, rushing at her.

He swung the dagger in a wide arc, but Sera stepped back just in time, narrowly avoiding the blade. Guity wasn't done. He lunged again, aiming another slash at her.

This time, Sera reacted quickly. She grabbed his wrist, locking his hand in place. With a swift movement, she drove her knee into his stomach, sending him stumbling backward, gasping for air.

Guity doubled over but quickly straightened, laughing through the pain. "Hahaha... Looks like you've got some fight in you. But in the end, you're still just a woman," he taunted, his grin widening.

Without warning, he charged at her again, dagger raised.

Watching the events unfold on the video, Alex stood frozen in shock. His mother and Sera were in real danger.

"You can see what's about to happen to your mother," the man beside Alex said, a smirk on his face. "Tell me her secret, and I'll call it off. Nobody will get har-"

Before the man could finish his sentence, a powerful grip closed around his mouth. His eyes widened in panic as he felt the pressure intensify, his jaw beginning to crack under the force.

The man's feet dangled off the ground.

Alex had moved the moment he snapped out of his daze. His speed was so fast that the others in the room didn' t even see him move. Now, he stood holding the man effortlessly in the air, his face etched with fury.

"Call it off!" Alex shouted, his voice booming.

"Arrghhh!" the man cried out, muffled by Alex's iron grip.

The others, stunned for a moment, quickly recovered. Despite their confusion about how Alex-a teenager-was lifting a fully grown man with one hand, they didn't hesitate.

They rushed toward him.

Seeing them advance, Alex didn't flinch.

With a burst of strength, he hurled the man he was holding straight at the attackers. The man's body crashed into the closest ones, knocking them to the ground in a heap.

Without missing a beat, a misty smoke appeared around Alex's hand. Within seconds, the smoke solidified, forming an object in his grip.

It was an axe.

Alex didn't hesitate. With a sharp swing, he brought the axe down toward the nearest attacker.

A gruesome scene unfolded before the remaining men in the room.

The man Alex had swung his axe at was severed horizontally, starting from his shoulder. His body parts scattered across the floor, leaving blood splattered everywhere. The metallic scent filled the air, thick and overwhelming.

"Call it off! Call the attack off now!"

Alex shouted, his voice echoing with rage.

The men froze, realizing they had made a fatal mistake. Fear gripped them as they watched Alex, his eyes cold and unyielding.

One of the men nearest the door panicked and turned to flee. He fumbled with the handle, desperate to escape. But before he could twist it, Alex's axe flew through the air, embedding itself deep into the man's skull. The blade pierced clean through, exiting from the other side.

The man's lifeless body slumped to the floor.

Without missing a beat, Alex summoned the axe back to his hand. The weapon flew back into his hand. He swung it with precision, severing another man's arm clean off.

The man screamed in agony, but Alex didn't pause. He grabbed him by the neck, lifting him effortlessly before slamming his head into the ground. The impact was devastating, shattering the man's skull. Brain matter and blood splattered across the floor.

Panic erupted in the room.

The remaining men scrambled for the door, their fear now overwhelming. They clawed at each other in desperation, trying to escape. But Alex moved with ruthless efficiency, cutting them down one by one.

Each swing of his axe added to the carnage. The floor was slick with blood, the once sterile room now a scene of horror.

There was no hesitation in Alex's movements. His focus was absolute. He moved from target to target, his strikes deliberate and merciless.

The men's terrified screams faded, replaced by silence and the heavy thud of bodies hitting the ground.

"Call the attack off!" Alex shouted again, his voice echoing through the blood-soaked room.

---

Meanwhile, back in Anna's office, Doctor Guity lunged at Sera with surprising speed. His full weight crashed into her, sending them both to the ground.

Gripping his dagger tightly, Guity tried to drive it down toward Sera. But she held onto his wrist with all her strength, keeping the blade from reaching her.

"Hahaha... You think you're stronger than me?" Guity sneered, pressing down harder. Slowly, the dagger inched closer to Sera's face, its tip aiming directly for her eyes.

Sera gritted her teeth, straining against his strength, but it was clear she was losing ground.

Suddenly, Guity yelped in pain. His body jolted, and he fell off Sera, clutching the back of his neck.

His fingers found a small syringe embedded there. Panic flashed in his eyes as he yanked it out and stumbled backward, creating distance between himself and Sera.

He looked up, searching for the person responsible.

Standing a few feet away, holding another syringe in her hand, was Anna.

"You bitch... If that had hit the wrong spot, I'd be dead right now!" Guity yelled, his voice laced with pain and rage.

Anna didn't flinch. She stood her ground, her eyes locked on him, ready for whatever came next.

"Why should I care if you die? You just tried to kill us!" Anna retorted, her voice sharp. She quickly helped Sera to her feet while Doctor Guity clutched his neck, still wincing in pain.

"You..." Guity growled, glaring at Anna. "I wasn't planning to kill you before, but screw that. I'm killing you now!"

Without warning, he pulled back his arm, gripping the dagger tightly. With a furious shout, he hurled it straight at Anna.

"Die!" Guity bellowed.

Anna froze, her eyes wide in shock. She hadn't anticipated the sudden attack. Even if she had, there wasn't enough time to react.

Her body tensed, and instinctively, she closed her eyes, bracing for the impact. But the pain never came.

Instead, the only sound was a dull thud-a body collapsing to the floor.

Anna's eyes shot open, and what she saw made her heart stop.

Sera lay on the ground, blood pooling around her. The dagger was buried deep in her chest, right between her breasts.

"No..." Anna whispered, her voice cracking.

She dropped to her knees beside Sera, her hands trembling. Her mouth opened, but no words came out. Tears streamed down her face, falling onto Sera's still body.

Anna took a deep breath, then released a mighty scream that echoed through the entire hospital like a siren. The intensity of her voice was overwhelming.

Emergency alarms blared in response, adding to the chaos. Doctor Guity dropped to his knees, clutching his ears in agony, unable to handle the piercing sound.

---

Meanwhile, Alex heard the scream and noticed the alarms going off throughout the hospital.

'What's happening? I wasted too much time,' he thought, his eyes narrowing.

The room around him was littered with bodies. Seven men had initially come at him. Now, only two remained standing, though both were badly injured.

The rest lay scattered across the floor- some missing limbs, others with deep cuts. Blood pooled around them. While most were clearly dead, Alex could sense faint signs of life from a few.

The two surviving men included the one who had shown Alex the video earlier and another gang member. Both were trembling, their faces pale with fear.

'I need to get out of here,' Alex decided, turning toward the door. He reached out to open it.

But before he could, the door swung open on its own.

A chubby man stepped inside, blocking Alex's path.

"Sorry, kid. I can't let you leave just yet," the man said calmly, his eyes fixed on Alex.

Alex's gaze sharpened as he recognized the man-it was the same faction member who had helped him earlier.

His "brother" in the Dragon Roar Faction.

But now, the man stood in his way. Alex' s mind raced, trying to understand why.

'Why is he stopping me now?' Alex thought.
