Jay POV...
The car stayed quiet after that conversation.
Too quiet.
The only sounds inside were the soft engine noise, the occasional tapping of Keifer's fingers against the steering wheel and the faint music playing from somewhere in the background.
Meanwhile my thoughts kept running in circles.
He noticed.
Of course he noticed.
That idiot notices everything about me no matter how much I try to hide things.
I rested my head lightly against the window while watching the city slowly pass by outside. Buildings turned into highways, highways turned into quieter roads and eventually even the traffic became less crowded.
And somehow...we were still driving.
I glanced at him from the corner of my eyes.
One hand lazily rested on the steering wheel while the other stayed near the gear shift. His expression looked calm and focused on the road but something about him felt quieter after our conversation earlier.
Maybe because I avoided answering.
But what was I even supposed to say?
"Oh by the way Mr. Mariano is related to me and my entire life is basically a complicated disaster?"
Absolutely not.
I sighed softly before looking outside again.
The sunlight was slowly becoming softer now indicating we had already been driving for quite a while.
Actually...
Way too long.
I frowned slightly before finally sitting up properly in my seat.
"Where exactly are we going?" I asked while looking at him suspiciously. "It has almost been an hour."
"Hm."
That was his reply.
My eye twitched slightly.
"I have to go back too you know."
Still nothing useful.
Then realization suddenly hit me.
"...Wait." I immediately looked at him in disbelief. "We are not on some long drive right?"
A small smirk slowly appeared on his lips.
Oh my God.
"Turn around," I protested immediately while sitting properly now. "We are not going anywhere."
Keifer scoffed softly like I was being dramatic before reaching toward the backseat blindly and grabbing a small water bottle.
Then he handed it toward me without even looking properly.
"Drink it."
I frowned while staring at the bottle suspiciously.
"What? I am not thirsty no tha—"
"Drink it," he repeated calmly.
I rolled my eyes dramatically.
Honestly I did not even have the energy to argue about water when my main problem was this man kidnapping me for God knows where.
Still...my throat actually felt dry after talking so much earlier.
So with maximum annoyance I grabbed the bottle from his hand.
"Happy?" I muttered before opening it.
He only hummed softly while driving.
I took a sip first.
Cold.
Then another sip.
Actually...I was thirstier than I thought.
So I ended up drinking more than half the bottle quickly since it was small anyways.
After drinking I tilted the bottle slightly absentmindedly before suddenly noticing something tiny near the bottom.
I froze.
...
What the hell was that?
It looked like...
A pill?
My eyes widened immediately before I turned toward him in shock and anger.
"Keifer!"
He glanced at me briefly. "Hm?"
"Why is there something inside the water?!" I held up the bottle dramatically. "You gave me dirty water what the hell is wrong with you?!"
He looked at the bottle lazily before looking back at the road completely unbothered.
"It is not dirty. Relax."
EXCUSE ME?!
I stared at him in disbelief.
"What do you mean RELAX?!"
But anyways...I already drank it.
So after glaring at him for few more seconds I aggressively placed the bottle down near the cup holder.
"This is exactly why people should not trust you."
He chuckled softly under his breath.
Annoying.
I crossed my arms dramatically before continuing my complaints.
"And turn the car around already because I am serious—"
Then suddenly I paused slightly.
...
Why did my head suddenly feel weird?
I blinked slowly.
Maybe I was just tired from school.
Yeah. Probably that.
I rubbed my eyes lightly before continuing stubbornly. "You are not even listening to me..."
But my voice sounded softer now somehow.
And my body suddenly felt heavier against the seat.
What...?
I frowned slightly while trying to sit properly again but the movement itself felt tiring.
The sunlight outside looked blurrier now.
My eyelids felt heavier too.
I slowly looked toward Keifer again.
"...What did you put in that water?" I mumbled suspiciously.
He glanced at me briefly before looking back at the road again.
"Nothing dangerous."
NOTHING DANGEROUS?!
I tried glaring at him properly but honestly even that required too much energy suddenly.
What the hell.
I kept arguing weakly about wanting to go back home but he barely reacted anymore while continuing to drive calmly like this was completely normal.
Meanwhile I felt sleepier with every passing second.
My thoughts became slower.
My body warmer.
The seat suddenly felt way too comfortable.
I blinked again.
And again.
Everything felt fuzzy now.
I tried forcing myself awake because absolutely not this idiot literally drugged me or something—
But my eyes kept closing on their own.
My head slowly leaned against the seat again while the road lights outside blurred together softly.
The last thing I remember was hearing Keifer's quiet amused voice beside me—
"Finally peaceful."
I wanted to insult him one last time.
Really.
But before I could even open my mouth properly...
My eyes finally closed.
Jay POV
I do not know how long I slept.
Minutes?
Hours?
Days?
Honestly at this point I would not even be surprised if that psychopath kidnapped me into another country.
But slowly...I started waking up because of soft sounds around me.
Wind chimes.
Waves.
The bed beneath me felt unbelievably soft and warm while cool air brushed lightly against my skin.
Honestly...for one peaceful second I was about to sleep again.
Then my half asleep brain finally processed something.
...Waves?
My eyes slowly opened.
Wait a minute.
WAVES?!
Realization suddenly hit me like a truck.
I immediately sat up so fast that my head spun slightly.
"What the hell—"
My eyes quickly scanned the room around me.
The room was neat, modern and weirdly peaceful. Large white curtains moved softly because of the strong wind entering through the slightly open balcony doors while warm sunset light filled the entire room beautifully.
The bed sheets were soft cream colored, the furniture looked expensive and somewhere nearby the wind chimes kept making soft sounds because of the sea breeze.
...Whose room is this?!
Panic immediately kicked in.
I quickly looked down at myself first.
Okay.
My clothes were still on.
Still in my school uniform.
Thank God.
My tie was loose now, my sleeves slightly wrinkled and my skirt looked crooked from sleeping weirdly but at least nothing suspicious happened.
Probably.
I immediately looked around for my bag or phone but none of my things were near me.
Excuse me?!
I quickly got off the bed and started searching around the room with growing annoyance and panic.
"Keifer Waston I swear to God—"
Then suddenly the balcony window caught my attention properly.
The curtains moved strongly again because of the wind and the sound of waves became louder.
Slowly...I walked closer.
And the moment I peeked outside—
...
...
DAMN.
DAMNNNNNNN.
My eyes widened immediately.
Why the hell was I on a beach?!
Actual beach.
Like literal ocean.
Golden sand stretched beautifully outside while waves crashed softly against the shore under the orange sunset sky. Palm trees moved with the wind and the entire place looked straight out of some rich people vacation advertisement.
This had to be a dream.
No.
Nightmare.
ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE.
That idiot actually kidnapped me to a beach?!
I was still processing the situation when suddenly my eyes landed on someone outside near the shore.
Keifer.
My breathing paused slightly for one second.
He was walking slowly near the water with both hands casually inside the pockets of his black lowers while wearing only a loose white t-shirt.
The sunset light reflected against him softly while the wind moved his hair slightly.
And annoyingly enough...
He looked really good.
Like stupidly unfairly good.
The relaxed posture.
The calm expression.
The ocean behind him.
It literally looked like some movie scene.
Ugh.
Then suddenly he started turning slightly toward the building.
Toward the window.
Toward ME.
I immediately ducked down behind the curtain so fast I almost slipped.
My heart started beating dramatically for absolutely no reason.
Why the hell did I hide?!
I groaned softly at myself before standing up again carefully.
Then I noticed the mirror beside the bed.
...
Oh.
OH MY GOD.
I looked HORRIBLE.
My hair looked like an actual bird nest after sleeping for God knows how long. Random strands were sticking everywhere while the sea wind made it even worse.
My uniform was completely crooked now, my tie hanging loose and uneven while my shirt looked wrinkled beyond repair.
And my face?
Dead.
Completely dead.
The school exhaustion mixed with forced sleep and emotional damage from this idiot made me look like I survived war.
My eyes looked sleepy, my lips slightly dry and there was literally a crease mark on my cheek from sleeping weirdly.
I stared at myself in disbelief.
"No wonder I hid..." I muttered dramatically while fixing my hair with my fingers hopelessly.
Then suddenly another realization hit me.
...
Wait.
If I am at a beach resort with Keifer.
That means—
I slowly looked toward the huge bed behind me.
...
No.
Absolutely not.
That psychopath better have another room or I swear I will throw him into the ocean myself.
Jay POV...
I was still staring at myself in the mirror looking absolutely disastrous when suddenly I heard a soft knock on the door.
Before I could even react properly the door slowly opened and a woman walked inside.
She looked like she was probably in her forties wearing a neat uniform with her hair tied properly.
Definitely a house help.
The moment she saw me awake she smiled politely.
"Oh ma'am, you are awake already."
Ma'am?!
I blinked awkwardly while standing there with my bird nest hair and crooked uniform looking like a kidnapped school student.
Before I could even ask anything she continued politely,
"Please come with me ma'am."
I frowned slightly but followed her anyways because honestly she looked harmless unlike that psychopath Waston.
Instead of walking outside the room she walked deeper inside it toward another door near the wall.
Wait.
There was another room INSIDE this room?!
Rich people scare me.
The woman opened the door and gestured for me to enter first.
I walked inside carefully at first.
But the moment my eyes properly adjusted—
...
What the hell.
My jaw literally dropped.
It was not another room.
It was a HUGE walk in closet.
Actually no.
Calling it a closet felt disrespectful because this thing was literally bigger than my entire bedroom back in the apartment.
The walls were lined with shelves and glass wardrobes filled with clothes.
Designer dresses.
Casual outfits.
Shoes.
Bags.
Jewelry.
Heels.
Perfumes.
Everything perfectly arranged by colors and styles like some luxury fashion showroom.
And the worst part?
All of it was girls clothes.
Which obviously meant—
...
They were for ME.
I slowly turned around in disbelief.
"What the hell..." I whispered softly.
I knew Keifer was rich.
Like rich rich.
But THIS?
This looked like he bought an entire clothing store.
And honestly even I was rich but because I always pretended to live like a common girl, I never spent money this ridiculously.
Meanwhile this psychopath casually prepared an entire fashion department for me.
The house help smiled politely while explaining,
"Sir Waston told me to show you the clothes and shower after you woke up ma'am."
I stared at her blankly while she continued calmly like this was completely normal behavior.
"Here are the clothes prepared for you and the bathroom is there." She pointed toward another huge door. "Everything you may need is already inside. Sir told me to tell you to freshen up first then come downstairs after."
Downstairs?
Oh I definitely wanted to go downstairs.
Specifically to strangle Keifer Waston.
But honestly...one look at myself in the mirror earlier already destroyed my confidence.
There was absolutely no way I was going in front of him looking like a dead exhausted school student who survived a storm.
And the house help herself looked so elegant and neat while I looked like sleep paralysis demon.
So instead I awkwardly nodded.
"O-okay..."
After she left I slowly looked around the closet again in disbelief.
Then my eyes landed on the clothes prepared neatly near the center table.
...
Wait.
I walked closer slowly.
Then froze.
No.
NO WAY.
Everything was exactly my size.
The dress.
The shorts.
The shirts.
Even the slippers.
HOW?!
Then unfortunately my eyes slowly drifted toward another section.
And my soul almost left my body.
Innerwear.
Matching sets.
MY SIZE TOO.
I stared at them in absolute horror.
"WHAT THE HELL?!" I whisper shouted dramatically while holding one of them up like it personally offended me.
How the hell does he know my size?!
This man was actually insane.
Psychopath.
Absolute psychopath.
I immediately buried my burning face into my hands.
Oh my God.
Did he seriously remember that much from hugging me?!
NO.
WAIT.
THAT SOUNDS WORSE.
I aggressively put the clothing back down while pacing around the giant closet dramatically.
"This is criminal behavior..." I muttered to myself.
But unfortunately...
Everything looked really pretty.
And soft.
And expensive.
And after looking at my current condition in the mirror earlier...
Yeah.
I definitely needed that shower.
