Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Vulnerabilities

The cold brought me back to reality, it was sunset. No one in the park woke me up, only myself. I sat on the bench for a while, touching my eyes. *A bad but real dream.*

I stood up. *Well then, now that the dream really told me about my past again, I think I should go there once again. Even if I cannot do anything...*

The sun was getting down and down as I walked through the streets to arrive at my old house, more specifically, the government's state property. I tried to open the door with old keys, it somehow worked.

The door carpet didn't have any dust on it, the floor was clean, and the walls didn't have any cobwebs at all, still maintaining their fresh paint.

I opened the door to the living room. There was the same green carpet and the same garden. I looked outside, nothing to look at except walls, grass, a pond, and flowers, red, blue, yellow, and what else?

*TICK*

I quietly looked back. The clock ticked as always. Never stop running as if it was always there instead of following me, but the weird thing is that we run with time.

*TICK*

"Why do you think I can catch you?" I looked at the clock. "You are clearly running while I still don't know how to walk." I closed my eyes for a bit. *Maybe I should go there before I don't have the chance to undo it again.*

* * *

I was at a train station. Not first but second at arrival. An old lady had already arrived there before me. The train still hadn't arrived. *Come on, night is almost about to occur.* Under the flickering lights, no one came for hours. Not the people nor the train.

*TICK*

The clock at the train station hit 7:38 PM. Just an hour and some minutes away from night. I exhaled slowly. "Here, take my jacket," the old lady calmly handed it to me. "You must be freezing by now- Oh, I know you. You are that kid from the morning, right?"

No words came out of my mouth. *Yes? No? Silence? Which one should I choose?* I chose silence, and I wasn't blamed. She put the jacket on me by herself, was that forceful? I tapped the ground with my shoes.

I checked my pocket but then immediately took my hand out. "What... do you want, Miss.?" She paused there for a while and then made a faint smile, maybe even a laugh I didn't hear.

The bus arrived. "You can give me a favour some other day, maybe at the visit of my funeral." She hopped on the train with a joke and I followed. *I just hope... I reach there soon.*

As I went down the bus and arrived at my school, I immediately opened the gate. It was rusty, thus harder to open. When I opened it, I immediately rushed towards my old classroom, class 8, section A. There was the notebook, still there, untouched. I claimed the ownership again, and headed down towards the school gate.

"Are you proud of it?" As I was about to reach the gate, a voice came from behind. The red haired girl tilted her head, eyes looking at me, not a smile, just a curious face.

I looked around. North, East, West, and South. I walked towards all directions, but ended up walking in circles. I tried to gulp my saliva, but it didn't, so I spat it out.

"Yes. And?" I opened the notebook. "Yes, every single line here is..." I gritted my teeth. "Fake." She came closer. "That's not the only thing that's fake."

"Who made the drawings on the classroom walls, threw paper balls around, and put stickers everywhere?" She looked at me. "Definitely..." she paused just to look at me. "Not you."

I dropped the notebook, clenched my fists, and started to bite my tongue. "And what did you get by doing that?" She asked me. "What? No responses left."

*TICK*

The school clock ticked. I felt like it was exposing me.

"Ohh. Now I wonder, someone didn't have everything, so they had to cope with something... Even if fake." She walked by. "You are not pathetic. Jus human."

*TICK*

I looked up at the sky, the moon had rose, and stars had formed. I went outside and took a bus. *I'm tired of this day.*
