Auden's pov
"Here she is, Alpha Auden." Jaden said to me with a pleased grin, and I forced the irritated feeling away.
"Is she really a gamma?" I asked and another man stepped forward, apparently her father.
"Yes, sir. She is my daughter and I'm a gamma."
I felt disgust settle over me as I stared at him.
"So you'll willingly give your daughter off to a monster?" I asked bluntly and he flinched, his face paling. "You have no morals, frankly.
"Sir, she's my d- daughter, and I—"
I cut him off, suddenly feeling annoyed. "Silence."
Jaden stepped forward, looking worried but trying to mask it. "Aren't you pleased with her, alpha? She's a virgin, I promise. And she can be—"
He suddenly grabbed her arm, pushing her down to her knees with a sickening crack while a pained cry left her mouth.
As I stared down at her pale face and trembling shoulders, I wasn't sure of why I felt so annoyed, but I did. Rage was bubbling low in my stomach.
"I'm pleased with her. We can sign the contracts now." My voice was sharper than I intended and Jaden's face instantly brightened and he let go of her, walking off to the table at the other side, returning with a paper and a pen almost immediately.
I regarded her kneeling form before gruffing out. "Rise."
Her eyes widened and she flinched before scrambling to her feet, fear painted over her face as she trembled.
I signed the contract after Jaden, then we shook hands.
"She officially belongs to you now, Alpha Auden." He gushed happily, all smiles and I faced the maiden who's gone paler, tears glistening in her eyes.
"What's your name?" I asked, and her eyes widened as she blinked up at me.
Her father, however, suddenly hit the girl over her face before facing me with a pleased look. "You don't have to be nice to her, sir. You can control her however you want, make her your breeder, and—"
I gripped his shirt before I could stop myself, jerking him close and a choked wheeze left his mouth.
"You don't get to touch her anymore since she now belongs to me, no?"
His face went pale as sheets and I felt this strong urge to punch his face.
Jaden looked uneasy as he spoke. "Alpha Auden…"
One look from me made him stop talking.
After a few more seconds, I let go of the gamma and he stumbled away fast, Jaden falling into step beside him.
I faced the girl again, my voice lower.
"I asked a question. What's your name?"
Her mouth opened a few times before she spoke, her voice small. "I- it's… Ivory, sir."
I let out a hum as my eyes raked down her body. She has a nice body, curvy in the right places.
"Are you looking forward to returning back with me?" I asked and I watched as a few emotions crossed her face.
"No. I'd r- rather not. I wanna stay back. Please d- don't take me with you, alpha." She responded desperately, blinking up at me with large eyes which should probably freak me out, but somehow, they didn't. I stepped closer, her scent filling my nose.
"Well, little rose, that's just too bad… cause you now belong to me." I drawled while her face comically crumbled.
The door opened at that moment and I watched a blonde girl strode in, disgust in her eyes as she regarded ivory.
"Evil backstabber." She spat and ivory flinched.
"I said I didn't do it." Ivory breathed out but the girl only scoffed.
"You did try to poison me, cause you're jealous of me." The blonde girl spat just as Jaden returned and pulled the blonde girl into his side, shushing her.
"What the fuck was that about?" I asked and Jaden sighed.
"She planned to poison her twin, even told me about it. But she was later exposed." He revealed.
"That's not—" ivory was cut off and for some reason, I wasn't sure i believed that.
But anyways, it wasn't like I planned to have her close enough to me for her to be able to consider poisoning me. Besides, I doubt she'd ever be that daring.
"Alpha?" Matt called out behind me and I faced him. His face was in a grim expression and he sighed. His clear disapproval of this whole thing was obvious on his face.
"Are you sure about this, alpha? She has no wolf and I doubt if.,."
I waved him off.
"I've made my decision. I'm bringing her back with us."
Just as we were about to leave, Jaden asked me if he could have a word with me in private.
I regarded him once we were alone, watching as he hesitated for a few moments before speaking.
"Uh, if you ever notice anything weird or unusual about ivory, maybe she suddenly starts being able to do things she couldn't do before, then please call—"
"Jaden, didn't we sign a contract? She is no longer your concern so why the fuck would I call you?"
His face flushed and he bowed a little. "I apologise, alpha."
"You didn't tell me you were giving me the unwanted maiden of your pack, the one everyone thinks is a freak." I pointed out as I stepped closer and his face paled. I heard all of this shortly after Bret, my second beta returned with info containing everything about ivory. Turns out her hair color and eyes were natural.
"I— I didn't…"
"You promised to give me the best maiden of your pack. Tell me why I shouldn't teach you a lesson for daring to trick me." I growled, my eyes darkening.
He stumbled over his words, instantly sweating buckets and I ended up sighing in irritation. It wasn't fun when they gave in too easily.
I might have considered punishing him if I had big plans for any maiden I was gonna get from him today, but I didn't, so it was fine.
I turned around. "I'll let this pass once. Goodbye, Jaden."
