Chapter 41 - A Completed Soul

Brie watched in amazement as Aphrodite said her goodbyes to her husband and gave Sora one last kiss.

Brie felt the warmth, joy, and all of the love the goddess gave baby Sora.

"Celeste will be here to help and I will talk to Athena," Aphrodite said while giving Cyrus a long hug.

"I'll see you soon enough, my love," Cyrus said with a smile as he gave Aphrodite a kiss.

Brie watched Cyrus raise baby Sora. King Joseph often stopped by and visited, and Sora had plenty of tutors, magical experts and trainers by the time he turned two.

Rumors circulated, causing envy among other families. The King taught Sora to not let other's opinions bother him.

"Always treat everyone with kindness Sora. If you learn anything from me, please remember that." Joseph said with a smile.

"Kindness always! Got it!" Sora, the rather large toddler responded with a big smile.

He was home schooled. Isolated again. His only interactions were with his Father, the King and his group of "teachers."

There was a small werewolf, Luna, who visited with the King on a very rare occasion. Other than that, he didn't have any friends. She would accompany her parents, Fenrir and Selene to "play."

It was really just combat training but the two got along well.

"One day, when we grow up, we'll be King and Queen of this land, Sora! You and me!" Little Luna said proudly.

Sora laughed, "you can be Queen, I don't want to be King!"

'Aw. Always so humble.' Brie thought with a smile.

By the age of 7, his father gave Sora a tear-filled goodbye.

"I'm going to live with your Mother in Paradise, my son. Be strong. The time will come when all of this makes sense to you," Cyrus said while giving Sora a big hug.

"I don't want you to go," Sora said sadly.

"You're half god Sora. You have Celeste, the King and all of your teachers. This mansion is now yours and it's your responsibility to fill it with only those you trust, deep within your heart, understood?" Cyrus said calmly.

"I understand. I love you, Dad. Say hi to Mom for me! I see her sometimes when I dream," Sora said with a big smile.

"I will, my son and that's good!" Cyrus exclaimed.

"Celeste, in the event he doesn't complete his soul, please do not hesitate to kill him. If what my wife and Athena say are true, if his soul is not complete by the time he is 23, he will go on a rampage and destroy Exteria," Cyrus whispered to Celeste. "He cannot know who you are until the time is right. Thank you for all you do for us. You're the reason I feel safe leaving him here. He needs to grow into his own man."

Brie gasped. "Three years?! Had he not agreed to your plan he would have destroyed Exteria in three years?!" Brie asked Chronos.

"Correct my dear girl, now please, continue watching." Chronos said calmly.

The rest of Sora's life growing up was just a strict regime of rigorous training, two hours in the morning, two hours in the afternoon and two hours in the evening. Book study in between his training, each with a different mentor. He'd sit in his massive library studying everything one could think of even Earth, times of previous war and about each race. He'd occasional take a trip to Haven with the King.

'He literally grew up isolated from the world,' Brie thought as tears filled her eyes. 'He was essentially a robot…' she thought, trailed off as the day she was waiting for arrived.

She now stood in paradise, merely a shadow amongst the gods.

"Chronos, the boy has agreed and his soul is intact?" Athena asked sternly.

"Yes, my lady. It is now up to Sora to listen to my instructions, find a party and fill his life with people he loves and cares about," Chronos said confidently.

"Thank you Chronos, I'm glad my son will be able to finally get out of that mansion and see the world. Celeste, you're going back to the King, correct?" Aphrodite asked.

"I left last night when Chronos arrived with his soul. I'm sure we will meet soon enough," Celeste said with a smile.

"Excellent. It looks like his soul is complete. Let's continue to monitor him," Athena said.

Brie watched Chronos teleport away and Celeste teleport back to Exteria. She took the usual form of the male guard they called Eigor.

"I'm not some damsel in distress you fuckhead!" Brie shouted at the masked man.

Brie giggled. 'He really did meet me on his first day on Exteria. That explains why he's always so lost in thought.'

Brie felt a sharp pain in her heart as she watched the masked Sora yell, "I'm just trying to help!"

She put her hand over her heart. 'That hurt him that much?'

She watched him laugh hysterically after they cleared the dungeon floor.

'Woah, he did feel super awkward after that. Poor guy,' Brie thought.

She watched him frantically search for answers when the banshee knocked her unconscious.

She watched the entire last year of her life through Sora's eyes and felt his pain. Felt his joy, his love, not only for her, but for the entire party.

'He really does mean it when he says how much he cares about each one of us. Even when he said he loved me I still felt his joy at my response even though I didn't tell him I loved him too,' she smiled as she thought.

She finally watched Sora hesitate in the battle against Pride. Then she felt the pain of the giant shard impaling him and heard something she didn't remember hearing before.

As the shard struck, "initiate linking magic with Brie Reinhardt. Transfer my passive healing ability to her. I'm… so… sorry… I… love… you…" Sora said as he collapsed in a giant pool of blood.

Chronos disabled the link. He helped Brie undo the straps and wires as well as lent her a hand to stand up.

"Well my dear girl, what do you think?" Chronos asked.

"I think I'm the luckiest woman in the world. Thank you so much Chronos. You're the best!" She said as she sprinted to him, went in and gave him a giant hug.

Chronos laughed, hugged her back and said, "you aren't mad at him at all? I thought maybe you might be—"

"At first I was, but then, thanks to you, I got to live his life as a human and life as a half-god. I felt his sadness and his joy. He was just being loyal to you. Just like I will be! I promise to only ever talk about anything to Sora, if that's ok?" Brie said with tears of joy falling from her face. "He saw these visions of his life on Exteria right?"

"Yes… yes, please only with him and if Celeste overhears it well, well that's ok," Chronos said.

"Wait, how can she be in our party and alliance then. Isn't she influencing humankind by being a part of this war?" Brie asked.

"You are quite the smart one, my dear girl. Celeste has permission from Athena to do what's necessary to ensure Sora stays on the path of Savior and not destroyer," Chronos said with a polite smile.

Brie smiled and saw the beauty of the cosmos.

"I bet you're eager to get back?" Chronos said with a smile.

"Yes. I am. How long has it been?"

"Two months since Sora woke up. It is now June in Exteria." Chronos said politely.

"Two months?!?!" Brie shouted.

"Calm down my dear girl. As I said, humans and other races will never fully understand the constructs of time. Anyway, I have a favor to ask you," Chronos said.

"Sure," Brie said politely.

"Tell Sora I'm sorry that I lied and I'm glad he has you in his life," Chronos said with a small smile.

"Of course!" Brie said.

*****

Brie's eyes opened slowly and she noticed Sora peacefully sleeping with his arm wrapped around her chest.

She grabbed his arm tightly. 'Was that all some crazy dream?'

Sora woke up and his eyes lit up. "Brie!" he shouted, only to have her cover his mouth with her hands.

"What was that for? Anyway! I have so much to tell you. You've been asleep for two months, Levi and Sasha are both SS rank now and I'm actually a reinca—" Brie's hands covered his mouth once again.

She moved her hands and gave him a kiss with all the love her soul could muster.

"Your mother never left you in an alleyway alone. She watched from the bushes until you were safely inside the Orphanage," Brie whispered, tears falling from her cheeks.

Sora looked at her in shock but smiled. "She never abandoned me…"

"I'm the luckiest woman in the world and I met Chronos. He gave me the option of returning to you or living both of your lives. I lived them both in their entirety. I felt everything you felt and watched like it was a movie in some weird helmet Chronos put on my head," Brie whispered.

Sora's face went beat red and his mind ran wild. 'Oh no, she knows I was a total loser with a split soul.'

She kissed him again, "I'm just glad your birthday wish came true and I now understand why you always included a diamond with the Ruby," Brie smiled.

Sora kissed her back and pulled back for a moment.

"I'm so sorry I couldn't tell you. I have wanted to since the day I met you."

"I know, silly! I lived it, remember? Oh! Chronos told me to apologize for him. He said he's sorry he lied but it was the only way to not disrupt the cosmos and time—or something like that," Brie smiled while she shrugged.

"So you really saw EVERYTHING?" Sora asked with a beat red face.

"Yes and I'm glad I did. You lied to me only one time! But I forgive you. It was very sweet of you to get my parents blessing to ask for my hand in marriage," Brie said while blushing.

"Should I let the others know? It's currently 11 pm. They should be up!" Sora asked with a smile.

"No, I watched you lay with me for nearly two months only getting up to stay physically fit and work on your abilities. You were isolated all over again. Tonight, you're all mine," she said as she sprinted off and took a shower.

When she came back, she was only wearing a pink laced bra and black laced panties.

"You look so sexy," Sora said as he felt his pants tighten.

She ran and pounced on him and the two shared a long, passionate night together.

They both kept their virginity, but that didn't stop them from being sexual. Sora was glad he had sound proof walls. He returned Brie's favor and she wasn't exactly quiet.

Sora did have the mouth of a god.
