Chapter 29 - CHAPTER 27: SACRIFICE

The deal was brutal.

Unfair.

And devastating.

"If you sign this," the lawyer said carefully, "you'll retain partial control—but you'll lose majority ownership."

Amara stared at the contract.

Years of work.

Gone.

Just like that.

"No," she said.

Firm.

Final.

"There has to be another way."

"There isn't."

Silence.

Heavy.

Crushing.

Then—

"I'll do it."

Everyone turned.

Adrian.

Amara's eyes widened.

"No."

He didn't look at her.

He looked at the lawyer.

"Transfer the acquisition to Velasco Tech."

The room froze.

"That's risky," the lawyer said.

"It's necessary."

"Adrian—" Amara stepped forward. "Stop."

But he didn't.

"If they want control," he continued, "they'll have to go through me."

Her chest tightened.

"You're risking your entire company."

"Yes."

"For me?"

Finally—

He looked at her.

And there was no hesitation.

"No," he said softly.

"For us."

That broke her.

Because this wasn't strategy.

This wasn't business.

This was love.

Raw.

Selfless.

Real.

"You can't do this," she whispered.

"I already am."

Her eyes filled—but she refused to cry.

Not here.

Not now.

"You don't even know if we'll survive this," she said.

He stepped closer.

"We will."

"How can you be so sure?"

He reached for her hand.

Holding it gently.

Steadily.

"Because I choose you," he said.

Every time.

No matter what.
