His POV
Staring at where she just was, he didn't know how long he had been frozen when he came to. It could have been seconds or minutes. It could have been days, weeks, or even months. Time did not flow in Purgatory as it did on Earth, let alone when he was not in a remotely proper mental state. Hopefully, things hadn't been messed up too badly, but could anyone really blame him? He had just watched the love of his life be vaporized by a truck of all things. With a heavy, sorrowful sigh, he looked down at the phone. I really should have known better that you'd build something like this.
His partner would obviously not take it seriously, wouldn't minmax or powergame. At least the build isn't horrible. Senjutsu, Yojutsu, Darkness manipulation, and the Morningstar's Light. That wasn't even taking into account that his love, the smartest person he knew, would be bolstered by a full twelve points of pure reality-altering intelligence boosting. It's a shame she didn't grab Worthless or the Kankura Formula, though. With her getting that boost, it would have been an easy path to reaching that Super Devil stage, right?
Honestly, with her being sent to a real world that by her choice was made to be more 'correct' politically and just making more sense in general, he wasn't sure. The mere notion of a Super Devil just made no fucking sense already, so it was hard to guess. Then again, the entire Abrahamic Pantheon is probably confused about what Sirzechs and Ajuka are.
Either way, he was glad she hadn't chosen Human or God—not that she of all people would ever choose to be a God. Both would have been the worst-case scenario. With a sigh of exhaustion and a heavy heart, he looked around. "Did he really have to destroy my dock, too? As it is, he screwed me by making it DxD." He paused, his lips that were still stained with tears, twitching. "Or he screwed over that world. Honestly, I can't imagine her ever falling into that ecchi harem debauchery."
Mainly because there was being kinky as hell, which they both voraciously enjoyed being at times, and just… whatever the complete absurdity of DxD was. Honestly, the problem with that world isn't the harems, the strip transformation, or whatever. It's how a bunch of immortal beings don't care about their reputation. It's why the ancient, powerful, respected, and depraved beyond any mortal mind vampires were still generally unknown to the humans on their world, instead of you know.
Forming harems, starring in action porn while also being a Satan, blatantly wanting to fuck your centuries younger siblings, being a God-King while ogling your servants/bodyguards, or just not at all hiding being the largest switch in existence while in public. No, in their world, that was all done in private. Or at least not in public in front of everyone, and then waved off with mind magic or just 'it's a Devil's way!'
I'm truly sorry, love. I've sent you to not just a dangerous world, but an absurd one. One good thing is you can finally live life to your heart's content. Paint, explore the world, make a grander garden. Fuck and get fucked. Indulge in everything you've always wanted, and be the good person that's been shrouded by the common people's fear and hatred. Just… come back and visit one day. Tearing his gaze away from where his dock used to be, he slipped the phone into his pocket with a heavy sigh. I suppose work never ends.
His scythe appeared in his hands. "Thank fuck she didn't choose Battle Maniac as a drawback." After all, she already had something akin to that trait, no matter how much she would deny it. She loves putting to use what she's learnt too much. Whether it's fighting, a new sword technique, or her magic. To then be compelled to fight on top of that? He shuddered. Truly, that world was lucky that the woman who caused The Collapse wasn't compelled to fight.
Even if it's terrifying to think of what will happen to her because she chose Lucifer's power. How fitting it is that she has it at the same time. Demonic Brilliance of Evil Light, an ability that Gods and 'Light' beings in specific are weak to. How fitting indeed. Letting out a sad laugh, his consciousness split thousands of times as he disappeared to do his duties. As the ferryman, he didn't have time to mourn, for the dead never stopped flowing. I await your call, my beloved. I await hearing about your life.

HerPOV
The first thing she noted when she came to consciousness wasn't the screams of agony—no she temporarily ignored those, or even the overwhelming sense of weakness. Instead, it was the pounding headache that came from having the knowledge of elemental, teleportation, and summoning magic crammed into her head with the subtlety of a Gatling gun. Particularly, darkness and light magic, considering that she was a vampire and now had Lucifer's corrupted 'light'.
Fuck that hurts more than the truck. The stream of magical knowledge was split up into two parts stemming from her newly acquired hybrid nature. On her Nekoshou side, she gained knowledge of how to use her newly gained Youki to form Youjutsu spells relating to the three fields. But from her vampire side? See, she wasn't so lucky. Because vampires couldn't use summoning magic or most elemental magic as their powers were far more restricted, even if, as a hybrid or 'Dhampir', she could ignore most vampiric weaknesses. So while she did get a fair bit of knowledge on how to use her vastly different vampire side's power for darkness, wind, and water—the last two in the form of mist—the rest? It was all in the form of Humanity's Magic that any species could use in DxD.
Otherwise known as superhuman math. Which fucking hurt because the brain wasn't meant to learn dozens if not hundreds of spells, some of which needed four-dimensional mathematics in an instant. Luckily, she was used to pain. Although a headache was new for her, and a complete bitch. Fuck, no wonder humans hate them. Pushing past it, her eyes snapped open and instantly adjusted for the lightning. Within a moment, she zeroed in on where the screaming and now slurping was coming from. Aah. I suppose this does count as a horrible start. The average isekai protagonist that would have used the CYOA would just be a regular human that's never seen… this before.
Besides a ripple of disgust, there was no fear or horror in her heart as she watched what could only be called a monster chomping down on the organs of what was likely a Tsuchigomo. Which probably meant…Looking down at her body, she lightly sighed. Definitely a Tsuchigomo. Any doubt of the creature with the lower half of a spider and the upper half of a man being a Tsuchigomo was erased when she saw that her entire body was wrapped up in webs aside from her head.
She flexed her arms, but the cocoon didn't even strain. Which was a new experience, considering that before, she could bend steel with her pinky. Weaker than I'd have expected, considering I should have the physical strength of a Vampire and a Nekoshou, which are naturally high-class Youkai. Then again, Koneko was only a low-class Devil at the start of the series, so perhaps that only mattered when adulthood hit, and she was certainly no adult right now.
It seems like I may have screwed myself a bit here by not picking the Peak Body perk. More than likely, whoever had reincarnated her had decided that since she had deigned not to waste two points on it, she should be in a body that had never trained or exercised—the only way to explain her current situation.
Instead of being annoyed, her eyes crinkled in amusement, still no fear in her heart. How long has it been since I've felt this weak and trapped? The answer came to her immediately. Never. I've never been this weak. Tugging on her power that was a combined mess of Youki and whatever a Vampire's magic was called confirmed it. I had more magic than this as a baby.
That wasn't even a hyperbole, either. As a baby, she could see the future, cause great fires, and had more magic than even some of the most experienced witches in the world. She laughed. Well, that certainly makes this interesting. She had never experienced needing to control her magic to properly conserve every single drop of magic before! How fun.
The slurping stopped, and the monster turned to face her. Since it so gracefully revealed its form, she quelled her thoughts and focused on it. It was tall, probably around ten feet, with bright green fur coating its legs, hands, back, chest, and neck. A curled blue horn rested on his forehead, and a smile that was stretched far too wide for a vaguely human face if one ignored the purple skin and scales. Fanged black teeth flashed in the low light that trickled in from what she was presuming to be a shattered window in what was probably an abandoned warehouse—considering how large it seemed at a quick glance and its stone floor.
"Oh? Look, you left some prey alive for me!" A cackle escaped from the creature as it looked back at the Tsuchigomo, who had managed to die while she was busy deep in her thoughts. "Oops! I forgot, you're not breathing anymore. AHAHAHAHHA! Now what should I do with you?"
She blinked as her brain, enhanced by the Natural-Born Genius power, tried to dissect why the creature's voice was reverberating and slightly affecting her pulse and emotions. But that was only a small part of what she was focusing on. He's insane. Like, batshit mental hospital insane. She could see it in his eyes, the way he moved, and of course, the laughter. "Might I recommend you free me?" Of course, she didn't expect him to, but being rude wouldn't be proper. After all, he was technically the person who defeated her 'captor', even though she had no memories of it, and the Tsuchigomo probably wouldn't have either.
"AHAHAHAHAHAA! Look, look! The tiny prey is being funny. Oh, I love children!" One furred hand reached into the pocket of torn and ripped jeans and pulled out a shrunken doll head. "See! Love em. Oh, you're going to be SO tasty. I'll make sure to keep your pretty little head that's sticking out intact, so don't worry!!"
She looked at the doll's head, then up to the creature's face, then back down to the doll's head. Well. I guess that means he's a stray devil. After all, if he wasn't lying, then the only explanation for a former child's head looking like a doll's was the 'imagination' powers of Devil magic. Which also meant that she was right that this creature was not only insane, but a monster.
She had dealt with an uncountable number of murderers in her life, but someone who 'loved' children and did that? They were far fewer. Her lips curled into a gentle smile as the Youki inside of her bubbled beneath her skin. "Thank you for confirming you're a true monster. I'd hate to have judged you wrongly based on your appearance. You can die now."
"HAHAHA! See? Children are so funn—GUHK!" The Stray Devil hadn't noticed the shadows subtly twisting in tune with her Youki, only realizing she wasn't so helpless when two daggers made of pure shadows pierced through his body. One dug its way into his gigantic belly, and the other right through a serpentine-esque eye.
Her smile remained even as he screamed in agony, the building itself rumbling as he rolled around on the floor, clutching at his stomach and face. "That could have been more efficient both in lethality and in the conservation of Youki. I'm sorry for not killing you on the first attack, but I'm quite new to these powers and this type of magic." Of course, if she had used her vampire side to do the attack, he likely would have died. But she was in Japan, and in Youkai territory. It was best to keep usage of that to a minimum until she understood the world and territory better.
Voice still utterly pleasant, she shifted her Youki, the two daggers melding back into the natural shadows that encased the building. "But you see, I'm curious. As a Vampire and Nekoshou, it would make most sense for my affinity for darkness magic to be the greatest, and yet…"
One, two, three daggers appeared in front of her. Yet, instead of coming from the shadows, it seemed like the light that had been leaking in from the building's broken windows coiled around them, and they glowed a vibrant white with a purplish-black crackling occasionally within. "Isn't it curious that I can currently manifest more light daggers? Isn't it curious that my knowledge and understanding of light magic is greater?" That was without even using or mentioning her 'clan trait' that she obtained from Lucifer!
Then again, the 'knowledge' she gained from the Elemental perk was only boosted for the Light element so much because of that clan trait. "I'm sorry for rambling, but it's just all so interesting, you know? And of course, the fact that you're the scum of the earth that was guaranteed to die from the second I opened my eyes and found you eating the organs of a sentient being."
"AAAH! I'll kill you, you insane bitch!" She snorted. A stray devil that ate Youkai was calling her insane? Well, she was. Isolation and being stuck in a timeloop fighting for five years did that to someone.
"No you won't. Goodbye now." Gigantic hands pushed against the ground as the Stray Devil tried to stand upright again, blood pouring from his ruined eye and skewered belly. He didn't get the chance.
Two light daggers sank into his body, one at the heart and the other through the eye and piercing into his brain. The last swiftly slit his throat. He didn't even get to scream in agony as his body dropped to the ground, burning and shaking from a Devil's innate weakness to light. And getting stabbed and sliced in vital places, of course.
The building went silent, and her light daggers disappeared. She frowned. That took up far too much of my Youki for two simple spells. I truly am weak. It seemed like whoever had reincarnated her here had decided to make her start as weak as possible and as young as possible.
It hadn't escaped her how small her cocoon was, or how young her voice sounded. So I'm 13 or 14, considering I selected the teenager age range. Which would put her exactly at the age of the main cast. Then again, that was the 'plan' for the adventure. After all, she had chosen the mission to help Rias be free of Riser. Now then, how am I going to get free? Her Youki was running on fumes, and she wasn't physically strong enough to escape the cocoon.
But, she didn't need to do, did she? After all, the vampires of DxD had many horrible drawbacks, but they also had quite a few unique abilities. One in particular shifted the body and didn't affect the outside world, which should make it leave minimal magical residue. She just had to figure out how to use that specific one in particular.
I just have to figure out how to shapeshift into a bat with no knowledge of any shapeshifting magic to reference from this world or mine. Honestly? It shouldn't be too hard. It was an innate 'ability' that any vampire could do, let alone a vampire proficient in all forms of elemental magic, not only in Yojutsu, but also in Merlin's math magic. On top of having already awakened her Darkness and Mist manipulation because of said elemental magic.
It was, however, completely embarrassing wiggling around in a cocoon while preciously dangling mid-air, a single bundle of web connecting her to the ceiling. Luckily? No one was there to see it. Unluckily? That was because there was a dead Tsuchigomo, a dead Stray Devil, and cocoons she could not only see but also hear dangling. Day one, and I already have to put so many bodies to rest.
Shaking her head, she focused on her attempts to call upon her vampiric powers to shapeshift. Now wasn't the time to mourn, be it for the dead, her past life, or the future ahead.
.
.
She wasn't sure if it was embarrassing or a sign of her genius that it took her twenty minutes, but eventually, a lone black bat perched on the top of a newly empty mini-human-sized cocoon. Turning around now that she was free to survey the building properly, she confirmed it was definitely an old abandoned warehouse, and that she shouldn't feel bad at all about the dead Tsuchigomo.
The web it had woven held nearly ten human-sized cocoons that were filled, and dozens more old and empty. Horrible start indeed, stuck in a monster's lair while another monster tries to kill me, surrounded by dead bodies, and having to kill someone within the first minutes. Exhaling heavily from her furry and wrinkly bat nose, her wings sagged. I guess I'm getting back into the murder game. What a shame, it had been nearly a year since she managed to free herself of the time loop, and nearly a year since she had done battle and killed someone.
Looks like my streak is broken. Killing an evil being was still killing them after all. But some creatures just couldn't be redeemed or saved. Clearly, both the Tsuchigomo and the Stray Devil were two of said creatures. Now, what am I going to do with these bodies? Flapping her wings, she took flight and landed on the nearest cocoon. Nibbling on it for a few seconds to open it up to see who was inside, she then took flight toward the next one.
A couple of minutes later, she rested on top of the last dangling cocoon, her bat eyes squinted in thought. Two dead children that are radiating Youki and seven human adults. That certainly complicated things. She couldn't go to the human authorities with this. She didn't know Japanese burial ceremonies and knew exactly nothing about Youkai culture and how to deal with their dead. I'm gonna have to get in contact with another Youkai then if I want these dead buried, properly honored, and any missing persons case dealt with.
Which she did. She knew the horror of having a family member—her mother, whose name she couldn't even remember, in her case—missing. No one should have to deal with the unknown, the horror of every night, wondering if they'd ever hear from them again. Damn my bleeding heart. That means I have to get in contact with the supernatural world.
She had a sneaking suspicion that this part was also part of the horrible start draw back. Because a lone young Nekoshou with no identification and no parents, taking down a Stray Devil who killed an adult Tsuchigomo with no wounds? Fuck. This wasn't going to be fun at all.
Flapping her wings, she landed on the ground, and a moment later, she grew hands and legs as she shifted back into her regular form. Once she was readjusted, she looked down only to snort. Of course, I'm naked. Small budding breasts, a tiny tummy, slightly flared hips, and the tip of a singular red-furred tail sneaking up to cover her privates greeted her sight.
Considering the 'build' she had chosen to model after herself, albeit ecchified, it was another sign that she was on the younger side of teenage years. By her guess, and the fact that she only had one tail, she had likely just started puberty, which probably put her barely at thirteen. Luckily, I have a magical walk-in closet filled with clothes that fit me. Even luckier, she actually knew how to summon it.
With just a thought, a flickering purple doorway appeared in front of her, and she stepped in. It wouldn't do to leave an abandoned warehouse naked after all. Then, as she passed through the portal, she froze. Holy shit. A happy giggle escaped from her as recent events temporarily faded as she took in the sight. This has to be heaven. It was huge and had every style, cloth, and color she could have imagined on TOP of a wide collection of shoes.
It was utterly glorious and totally worth a singular point. I would have paid a dozen points for this as long as it keeps updating as I age and grow. Which would have been ridiculously expensive, of course, but who cared?
I mostly forgive you, babe. And if that isn't the most selfish and vain thought I've ever had, broken heaven system smite me down. A bolt of lightning did, in fact, not come down from the walk-in closet's ceiling. She let out another giggle.
Murder, magic, and clothes, what else could a girl want? Oh right. No murder. A girl could want no murder.
