Jacob put a hand on Enki's shoulder.
"I'm sorry Enki. Let's just keep moving forward."
Enki remained silent and slowly turned east.
"I'm the one who is sorry. I had a feeling it wouldn't be there when I came back. I just needed to see for myself what happened."
Everyone left the top of the hill except for Slimo. He looked at the broken kingdom with squinted eyes. There was something about the kingdom that gave him a bad feeling. Perhaps, it was because he was witnessing the cruelty of the Monlo Empire for the first time. He knew that they had battled kingdoms but destroying them completely was unique even to people like them.
"You coming, Slimo?"
Slimo looked at the view for a few more moments.
"Yes. Sorry."
Jacob and Lidia began to lead the group east.
"Slimo, because we are going to the main kingdom, I'm not sure if you would prefer to sit this adventure out because of your past. You and Lidia can go somewhere else if you want."
