When Rose and Arthur walked through the gates of the kingdom once more to return, they noticed that Jacob was waiting for them. As much as Arthur wanted to yell at him for leaving him with the princess, he was secretly very grateful it happened. However, he was still curious why he decided to remain inside the walls of the kingdom when this was his first taste of freedom in very long time.
"Hey, Jacob. What gives? Why didn't you go with us."
Jacob refused to meet his friend's gaze.
"I just didn't want to leave here. That's all."
He could tell Jacob was hiding something, but he was so happy being by the princess that he didn't prod about it right away. Rose quickly shook the both of them.
"Well, I'm happy you two are glad to see each other again, but we really have to get you back before my dad finds out!"
