Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Leaving without a sound

Elias didn't go back.

Not to the door. Not to the coffee.

Not to Kael.

By the time the sun began to set, he was already standing in the small room he had once called his own, staring at the space as if seeing it for the first time. It felt… unfamiliar.

Like it no longer belonged to him. Or maybe he no longer belonged there.

He moved quietly, almost mechanically.

A bag. Then another. He didn't take much—just what he truly needed.

A few clothes, neatly folded. Important documents.A small box of things he had once thought were precious… before hesitating, then leaving it behind.

His hands paused briefly on the drawer where he kept his savings. Carefully, he pulled it out. It wasn't a lot.

Just small amounts saved over time—skipping things he wanted, choosing less, holding back.

Still… it was enough. Enough to leave. Enough to start over. Elias counted the money once, then again, before placing it safely into his bag. His fingers lingered for a second longer than necessary. This… was his safety. His freedom.

The room grew quieter as he finished. No traces. No mess.Just an empty space, like he had never been there at all.

Elias stood in the middle of it, looking around one last time.He hoped that Kael would come running and stop him. But he didn't Elias thought that he probably didn't even noticed he never notice anyway.

He didn't cry.

Atleast he thought he would.

Only a strange calm.

"…It's fine," he whispered softly, though no one was there to hear it.

And then—

He left.
