Mei Hatsume shot across the surface of the ocean at terrifying speed, water exploding behind her jet roller skates as she leaned forward with panic written all over her face.
The engines attached behind her modified skates roared loudly while steam and saltwater sprayed around her.
"He is heading to Mie city!?" Mei shouted in disbelief as her zoom quirk locked onto the tiny purple dot flying farther and farther away from Musutafu.
"Mineta! Don't worry, I'm coming!"
She quickly pressed a button on the side of her skates. Mechanical clicks echoed as the wheels shifted shape, becoming sharper and more streamlined for water travel.
"Jet Water Roller Mode!"
Blue flames burst from the turbines as Mei accelerated again, literally roller skating on top of the ocean surface while cutting through waves like a human speedboat.
Her pink dreadlock-like hair whipped wildly behind her while her goggles reflected the distant purple dot in the sky.
"Please don't crash…" she muttered nervously. "Please don't crash before I get there…"
Meanwhile, far away in Mie Prefecture, chaos had already erupted in Kana district.
Police sirens echoed while civilians were evacuated from the residential district. Smoke rose into the air from damaged buildings as several heroes and police officers kept people away from the battle zone.
At the center of the destruction stood a gigantic reptilian villain roaring furiously.
The villain Kaiju lived up to his name completely. His quirk transformed him into a giant fire-breathing lizard nearly the same size as Mt. Lady herself.
Thick scales covered his body while flames leaked from the corners of his jaws.
Right now, hero intern Mt. Lady was locked in an intense battle against him.
The giant heroine in training lunged forward and tried to grab the villain in a deadlock.
"Stay still already!" she shouted as she kicked toward his stomach.
But Kaiju suddenly swung his giant tail low across the ground.
WHAM!
Mt. Lady's legs were swept out from beneath her.
"Ah—!"
She crashed onto the road hard enough to shake nearby buildings. Before she could recover, Kaiju's tail wrapped tightly around her neck.
"Ghk—!"
Mt. Lady choked as the villain pinned down her arms and legs using his massive body weight.
Kaiju grinned maliciously. "Die!"
His jaws slowly opened as red light started glowing deep inside his throat. Flames gathered within his mouth while smoke escaped his nostrils.
Mt. Lady struggled desperately, but his grip only tightened.
'This is bad…'
The heroine in training stared at the sky helplessly as bitter thoughts filled her mind.
'So this is how I die?'
Images flashed through her head rapidly. Her dream of becoming a famous hero. Getting rich. Being loved by fans. Getting a handsome boyfriend.
A bitter laugh echoed in her head. 'I rejected so many boys because they weren't my type… or because they weren't rich enough…'
Her expression became pained. 'And I even wanted someone younger than me…'
Mt. Lady nearly wanted to cry. 'I'm seriously going to die as a virgin!?'
Kaiju's mouth glowed brighter as flames gathered together. Mt. Lady slowly closed her eyes.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"
Both Mt. Lady and Kaiju froze.
"…What?" Kaiju muttered as the flames dimmed around his mouth.
Mt. Lady blinked before both of them looked sideways toward the sky.
And saw a screaming purple blur rapidly approaching them.
Some moments earlier.
Mineta's eyes snapped open violently.
"Huh!?"
Wind blasted against his face at insane speed as he looked around in panic.
"I'M STILL FLYING!?"
The jetpack continued carrying him through the air like a missile while the city below rushed past him rapidly.
"How long was I unconscious!?"
Mineta quickly looked downward and his soul nearly left his body.
"This isn't Musutafu!?"
Then he spotted a familiar television station building. His eyes widened as he recognised this station. It's host was a hot milf that had a cow based quirk that let's her have cow ears, tail and be able to produce milk.
"I'm in Mie Prefecture!?" Mineta almost cried. "I FLEW TO ANOTHER CITY!?"
The poor boy desperately started pressing random buttons on the jetpack while panicking internally.
'How do I stop this thing!? Why did Mei make this!? Why did I trust seventy five percent safe!? Who says seventy five percent safe with confidence!?'
As he continued flying forward, police sirens caught his attention.
"Huh?"
Mineta looked downward and saw police cars escorting civilians away from a certain area.
"What's happening?"
Then he looked ahead and immediately froze.
A giant lizard villain was pinning down Mt. Lady while flames gathered inside its mouth.
"…What."
Mineta's brain completely blue screened.
"WHY IS MT. LADY HERE!?"
Then realization hit him. He was flying directly toward the lizard's head.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"
Kaiju stared upward in confusion. "What the hell is tha—"
Mineta desperately smashed buttons on the chest controls.
"COME ON! TURN OFF! TURN OFF!"
One of the buttons clicked. The engines suddenly ROARED louder. The jetpack's speed doubled instantly.
"…Wait."
BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
Mineta screamed as he shot forward even faster.
"WHY DID IT SPEED UP!?"
Mt. Lady's eyes widened.
Kaiju's eyes widened.
Mineta's soul widened.
Then suddenly another button activated. The belts holding Mineta loosened instantly.
"Huh?"
Mineta slipped free from the jetpack.
"Oh no."
The now unmanned jetpack continued flying at maximum speed directly toward Kaiju's face.
The villain only had enough time to mutter—"Wait wha—"KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
The jetpack slammed directly into his head and exploded violently.
Kaiju screamed in pain as smoke and flames burst everywhere. The impact made him lose balance completely.
His legs slipped.
The giant villain began falling backward.
Meanwhile Mineta himself was now falling from the sky.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"
His survival instincts kicked in instantly. He ripped multiple sticky balls from his head and hurled them downward rapidly.
Purple balls scattered across the roads and debris below. Kaiju's giant body crashed directly onto them.
SPLAT!
The villain roared furiously as he struggled. "WHAT IS THIS!? WHY CAN'T I MOVE!?"
The sticky balls completely locked his massive body against the ground.
Mt. Lady's eyes widened before she instantly grabbed Mineta out of the air with one hand.
She gently placed him on top of her head. "Don't fall off," she warned quickly.
Meanwhile, inside her mind, 'A boyfriend can't just fall from the sky…But this guy literally fell from the sky…IS THIS SOME KIND OF SIGN!?'
Mt. Lady mentally slapped herself. 'NO. STOP THINKING WEIRD THINGS!'
She immediately used the opportunity and slammed her foot into Kaiju's stomach.
BOOM!
The villain coughed violently.
Mt. Lady followed with a barrage of punches and kicks while Kaiju struggled helplessly against the sticky restraints.
Mineta clung desperately onto her blonde hair for dear life.
"PLEASE WARN ME BEFORE YOU MOVE!"
Mt. Lady ignored him as she continued attacking relentlessly.
Finally, after several brutal hits, Kaiju groaned and lost consciousness. His giant reptilian body shrank back into a normal human form.
Mt. Lady also returned to her normal size afterward.
As soon as Mineta touched the ground again, he immediately hugged the road dramatically. "Finally…" he muttered emotionally. "Land…"
Mt. Lady laughed softly before walking toward him. "Thanks for helping me," she said sincerely. "I would have died if not for you."
Mineta scratched the back of his head awkwardly. "I-I didn't really do much. The jetpack did most of the work."
Mt. Lady immediately shook her head. "No way. Your sticky balls helped massively. I've been fighting that guy for fifteen minutes already."
She pointed toward the unconscious villain. "He had some kind of healing effect in his quirk. Every time I hurt him, he kept recovering stamina little by little. But once you stuck him to the ground, he couldn't move anymore."
She smiled brightly. "So I could finally beat him down without interruption."
Mineta scratched his hair in embarrassment. Mt. Lady tilted her head curiously. "So where exactly did you even get a jetpack?"
Mineta visibly shuddered. "My friend wants to become an inventor," he said weakly. "She made it and asked me to test it."
Mt. Lady blinked. "…And you agreed?"
"I made mistakes."
"So how far did you fly exactly?"
Mineta pointed weakly behind him. "From Saitama."
Mt. Lady froze completely. "…Excuse me?"
"I flew from Saitama all the way here."
Mt. Lady stared at him like he had just announced he wrestled a dragon yesterday. "You flew from Saitama to Mie!?"
"Against my will, yes."
Then suddenly Mineta's face turned green. He walked toward a pile of debris and immediately threw up. Flying for that long had absolutely destroyed his stomach.
Mt. Lady quickly walked beside him and gently patted his back. "There there…"
But inside her head, thoughts continued spiraling wildly.
'This much coincidence can't be normal…He flew all the way from another prefecture… happened to arrive exactly when I was about to die… literally fell from the sky while I was thinking about wanting a boyfriend…'
Her cheeks slowly turned pink. 'No no no no. Stop thinking weird things.'
She glanced at Mineta. He looked surprisingly cute in a small grape themed kind of way.
Then realization hit her. 'Wait. He looks like a middle schooler.'
Mt. Lady immediately covered her face internally. 'There's a four year age gap! Why am I even thinking about this!?'
