Chapter 10 - Chapter 10:Breaking Chains!

It had been a few days since Minoru Mineta started his middle school, and right now, instead of being in class or training, he was sitting inside a police station, the atmosphere serious yet oddly relieving, as beside him sat Himiko Toga and in front of them stood his mother, Umeko Mineta, who was calmly signing a stack of official documents placed on the desk.

"These papers," Umeko said without looking up, "will legally allow Himiko to stay with us until she's old enough to take care of herself and get a job."

Himiko sat quietly, her hands placed on her lap, fingers slightly trembling.

Mineta glanced at her. '…She's nervous,' he thought.

"THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!"

A loud, furious scream echoed through the station.

All three of them turned.

Himiko's mother was being dragged by two female officers toward a holding cell, her face twisted in rage.

"WHY AM I BEING ARRESTED?!" she screamed.

"I'M A LAW-ABIDING CITIZEN! I ONLY DID THOSE THINGS TO THAT MONSTER FREAK DAUGHTER OF MINE SO SHE WOULDN'T HURT OTHERS!"

Himiko flinched as Mineta's eyes darkened at every word that Bitch uttered.

"THAT THING IS NOT HUMAN! I WAS PROTECTING SOCIETY—!"

THWIP!

A purple sticky ball flew through the air—and stuck directly onto her mouth.

"MMMPH—!!"

She tried to rip it off, only for her hands to get stuck to her face as well, turning her screams into muffled noises.

The entire station went silent for a second. Every cop slowly turned to look at Mineta.

Mineta shrugged casually. "Her screeching was hurting my ears," he said. "So I shut her up. Don't worry, it'll dissolve into normal grape-flavored liquid in about two hours."

There was silence for a moment before one officer chuckled. Another smirked. "We'll allow it this time, kid." A few more cops laughed under their breath.

Himiko looked at Mineta, small tears of happiness formed in her eyes as she let out a quiet chuckle.

Umeko finished signing the last paper and turned toward them, holding the documents.

"It's done," she said.

She walked over and gently held the papers in front of Himiko.

"Welcome to the Mineta family."

Himiko immediately stood up and bowed deeply. "T-Thank you so much—"

But before she could finish, Umeko pulled her into a hug.

"It's okay," she said softly. "You don't need to bow."

Himiko froze for a second—Then slowly hugged back.

Mineta watched the scene with a small smile.

Then he turned to a nearby officer. "What about her dad?"

The officer sighed. "He ran away during the arrest."

Mineta frowned slightly at that, but Umeko beckoned him and Himiko closer.

"Don't worry about him," she whispered calmly. "Manami will take care of it."

Mineta's smile twitched. A drop of sweat rolled down his temple.

'…That explains the dozen motorcycles parked outside our house yesterday,' he thought.

Somewhere else—Himiko's father was driving his car at full speed, sweat dripping down his face as he kept glancing at the rearview mirror.

His breathing was uneven as his heart rate was going crazy.

"DAMN IT… DAMN IT…!"

Behind him, Dozens of motorcycles roared loudly, engines screaming as they chased him down the road.

Each rider wore jerseys with a grape symbol on them.

And leading them was Manami Mineta.

"Oi!" Manami shouted with a grin. "Running away already?!"

He sped up, his bike pulling up beside the car. Himiko's father turned his head in horror.

CRASH!

Manami swung his baseball bat, shattering the car window instantly.

"AAAHHH!!" Himiko's father screamed as glass shards cut into his face, leaving small bloody marks.

In panic, he jerked the steering wheel, trying to ram into Manami.

But suddenly, the car stopped. One of the bikers had grabbed onto it, forcing it to halt.

"W-WHAT THE—?!"

Manami parked his bike and stepped off slowly.

Himiko's father pushed open the damaged door and tried to run.

CRACK!

A baseball bat slammed into his knee.

"AAAHHH!!" he screamed, collapsing onto the ground.

Manami casually caught the bat he had thrown and began walking forward, dragging it across the ground, the sound scraping ominously.

"I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!" the man cried, trying to crawl away. "I'M INNOCENT!"

Manami tilted his head slightly. "You didn't do anything?" he repeated.

CRACK!

The bat slammed into the man's hand.

"AAAAHHH!!"

Manami grabbed his shoulder and yanked him up, forcing him to face him.

His glasses slid down slightly, Revealing a glare so cold and intense that the man nearly lost control of his bladder.

"Hurting your own daughter," Manami said quietly—BAM! A punch to the face.

"AAH—!"

"Letting her starve until her mind breaks!"

BAM!

A punch to the gut.

"G-GH—!"

"Turning her into a puppet!"

BAM!

Another hit to the stomach, making him nearly vomit.

"Calling her a monster for her quirk!"

BAM!

A punch to the face sent teeth flying out.

Manami let go and kicked him hard, sending him rolling across the ground in agony.

The gang formed a circle around them. Manami slowly walked around the man, spinning the bat lightly.

"You don't deserve to be a parent," he said coldly.

Then, With full force, He swung the bat downward.

A brutal hit to the dick and balls.

"AAAAAAHHHHHH!!"

"Take him," Manami said calmly, resting the bat on his shoulder. "Drop him at the police station in a sack."

"Got it, boss," two bikers said as they moved forward.

Manami turned to the rest. "The rest of you," he said, "wipe the recordings. Delete any footage from nearby cameras."

"And pay off anyone important in the higher ups."

One of the men nodded. "Understood."

Engines roared again as the gang dispersed, motorcycles speeding off one by one, With Manami leading them.
