Chapter 51 - Training

Having four new students in our class really shook things up, training-wise.

Yes, Eren having a massive Titan was scary, and only me, Bakugo, Izuku, and Shoto could deal with it, but adding Armin and Mikasa to that made it downright unfair. The three of them have obviously trained together for a long time; their synergy was perfect.

Alarielle was a whole other problem. Her quirks, two just like Armin's, let her control both light AND nature. So, not only could she blind you or bind you with scary fast beams of light, but she could also turn the environment itself against you.

Yeah, when I say she could control nature, I mean NATURE. Animals, plants, weather, insects- it was so unfair. That, plus she was smart, so now not only could she overpower everyone here, she could outthink us as well.

So far, only Shoto and I have been able to beat her. I used an absurd amount of flames and my Viltrumite body to just crush everything she threw at me. No vine could tie me down, and no light was too bright for me. I did win.

Shoto, however, went even. Having gotten really good at switching between fire and ice on the fly, Shoto was able to stay in the fight long enough to burn everything around him to ash, only for her to bring it back the next second.

She would then try to use her light, only for thick blocks of ice to get in the way, giving him time to reposition. As of now, after about two weeks of training, neither could beat the other, yet.

Alarielle also wielded two blades, though she only ever used one. It was an elegant sword; it looked a lot like a Ghostsword, but I couldn't be sure. She had yet to draw the other blade, even the one time she fought with Mikasa, which was terrifying, though I had seen it twitch in its scabbard a few times.

I was starting to leave them behind, however. Remember how I got a bunch of Stimpacks and can make as many more as I want? Yeah, I also got the Dojo key, and a whole slew of familiars to help me train against.

It was brutal.

Mizutsune by itself took a full day for me to beat; it was that strong. The Beowolves took three days; even though I could easily tear them in half with my new strength, they just swarmed me and ripped me apart.

That was where things got worse, since Beowolves fed on emotions like despair, fear, and hate; I fed them every time I got close to death, making them even stronger and making more appear as well.

Entoma was out as well, with Doma. They just hung around for now, making sure I got Stimpacks in time as I boosted my already advanced Viltrumite healing factor. The Manticore was also out, but I left it in its own corner as it laid eggs, for when I'd need them.

By the end of the two weeks, I had moved on to facing the Beowolves with Mizutsune as well. Doma worked overtime making sure Stimpacks hit me in the middle of combat to keep me going as my body grew stronger and stronger.

By now, I'm confident in saying I could fold Mark in half like a chair. Maybe not Mark fighting against Conquest, or Thragg, but I wouldn't get pub stomped by someone like Titan at least. Eren certainly didn't stand a chance.

I actually didn't have to show off my new power very much. Since my body just kept getting stronger and stronger, my flames scaled with it. I could now form the Aegis-Pattern Terminator Power Armor around me like normal.

It was a bit harder to explain the sudden growth, however. I went from a respectable 5'9, to 6'2 in the few weeks I'd gained the Viltrumite trait. I'd been able to blame puberty, a late growth spurt, before I hit twenty. I think it worked?

Back to Eren. Since he was so used to having Armin and Mikasa fight alongside him, he suffered the most when by himself. 1-A didn't have that problem as badly since we'd been attacked and separated by villains TWICE, and had been forced to fight alone.

So, now we would attack Eren in groups as he was forced to get used to it or fail, something he wouldn't take lying down. It also helped the class get over their slight PTSD from facing something that much larger than them; remember the USJ Nomu was a full 7'2, that's as tall as All Might.

Well, as tall as he used to be anyway.

Toshinori had actually shown up plenty of times during training. He looked a bit healthier too. Still a bag of bones, but not about to fall over. Nezu had told me that they put the Stimpacks and Auto-Docs to good use to repair what they could, at least giving him his stomach back.

Levi also was there, mostly for Eren, but he would still call out anything when he saw the need to. He didn't say much to me, but he seemed to have a bone to pick with how rigid Ida was, and how reckless Izuku could be at times.

"What kind of hero becomes a liability after saving one person?" He asked Izuku one day after I'd given him a Stimpack for a really bad leg fracture. Izuku's been getting better with his shoot-style, but he still sometimes puts too much power into one limb, and Levi had finally been here to see it.

Izuku tried to explain as usual, but unlike Aizawa, Levi didn't listen to excuses before giving advice. He just made Izuku run laps while being chased by a few people, while also being weighed down, forced to use his quirk perfectly to keep himself up and moving.

I also got another one of these, sweet! Spin it!

[Spinning, spinning, spinning, done!]

[Quest Marker]

Elite Trait

"Another settlement needs our help. I'll mark it on the map for you." Whenever you get a quest, or someone requests something, you can summon an arrow that points you toward your objective.

I was about to rejoin the group heading for lunch when the Gacha went off again.

[Gift from beyond the veil, 1 Random Bronze Ticket] (Shinobu_Kurai)

Sweet, I wasn't against more goodies! Spin 'em!

[Swordsmachine]

Uncommon Familiar

Ultrakill - Swordsmachine is a greater machine that has built itself a new form over time from scrap and spare parts, even building itself its own sword. The Swordsmachine is renowned for its combat prowess, having fought denizens of hell for extended periods of time. Alongside its ability to build basic tech out of scrap, the Swordsmachine has a durable body with a shotgun arm and a motorized sword that it wields with notable finesse. The Swordsmachine is powered and fueled by blood and requires it to function.

Cool, I wonder what would happen if I just let this thing run crazy in Khorne's realm?

[Madness Wavelength]

Epic Ability

You emit a wavelength from your body that alters the minds and perceptions of those it interacts with. You can drive an entire town to madness while passing by; you can also tweak the madness this ability exerts.

Oh neat, I could just walk up to say, Aizawa and tweak the madness to where he's madly in love with Joke. An interesting idea now that I think about it. . .

[Vordt's Great Hammer]

Uncommon Item

Dark Souls - A great hammer made of titanite that belonged to Vordt of the Boreal Valley. The weapon is incredibly heavy and requires inhuman strength to swing properly. The head of the mace is imbued with frost, forever below freezing temperatures. It also increases the power of ice-based abilities channeled through it.

Oh awesome, I finally got a weapon that is fire and won't shatter in Viltrumite hands! This would also be useful against the stupid amounts of heat put off by Dabi during the final war, but we aren't there yet.

With that dealt with, I head to lunch and enjoy the rest of my day with Sasha and the rest. As we're all hanging out back at the dorms, Kirishima and Mina start a Mario Kart tournament, and we all have fun until someone checks their phone and freaks out.

"OMG, Shoto, someone attacked your dad!"
