Chapter 49 - Festival day-2

"How many more is he going to drink?" Aizawa asked Midnight as I gulped down another bottle of water.

She shrugged as I finally came up for air. "Just that last one. I got thirsty."

Midnight snorted as I threw the bottle away. "I'm guessing you saw me sing?" I asked Aizawa, and he nodded. "Where did you find a Prince song? I haven't heard Purple Rain in years, not to mention the fact that you found his outfits."

I moved out of Izuku's way as he got ready to jump, and the three of us moved further back so we could still hear and see the show, but not get in the way. Already, Bakugo was setting an aggressive beat.

"I had to dig around old pre-quirk archives. Jiro helped a ton since she's always looking for old music that isn't about heroes. As for the outfit, I just modified His Purple Highness's costume. Wasn't really hard."

"I noticed that your outfit was similar to His," Midnight nodded. "He always would listen to that old music when we did our work study with him; it was nice to hear that song again." She smiled.

"Did you see any songs before that?" I asked Aizawa, mentally hoping he popped in for Purple Rain. Aizawa gave me a funny look, and Midnight grinned. "I was here for the last three. Why?"

I stayed silent, hoping Midnight would as well, only for her to whip out her phone and text someone.

A moment later, she showed us the video Nezu sent her. It was her and I singing on stage, before things took a turn. "I must say," Midnight purred as Aizawa looked on in shock, "He's a much better kisser than I imagined."

I could tell Aizawa was trying his best to wrap his brain around this, and failing. "If it makes you feel better, this was the only time we've done the whole thing. We've only done the singing before today."

"I have no words." Aizawa finally said, before simply walking away. Even for him, this must have been too much to deal with. Midnight also had to go, but she dragged me close for a selfie before sauntering away. Salvation arrived a moment later.

'Sweet. I can use one of those right now. Spin it!'

[Tinker - Resources]

|Rare Ability|

This tinker specialty allows you to design, modify, and build technology and technological constructs related to acquiring materials.

This would be useful as well. Especially for the advanced alloys and materials required for some of the Fallout stuff I want to make. I might turn into a mini Tony Stark at this point. Iron Man armor would be pretty cool.

I then sat and watched the rest of the class put on their show. It was really cool to see them all working together like this. Yeah, the song was a bit cheesy, but the crowd seemed to be loving it.

It also helped when Aoyama was turned into a disco ball, just saying.

When they finally ended their performance and announced the time of the next show, Sasha and I took off to see the rest of the Festival.

The first things we hit up were the snack stands. Several business course classes set up food stalls, and we hit up all of them, with Shoto and Momo joining us as well at some point.

"By the way, Momo, great job with the confetti! I didn't think it would work as well as it did, but you pulled it off." I smiled at her as she thanked me. "You too, Shoto; the ice trick with Sero was pretty neat."

After we got our food, we started checking out all the other events the other classes had set up.

Class 1-B had made a big set and were putting on a play, but we avoided it so as not to have to run into Monoma. Class 1-C was more cool, though; they'd set up a haunted house, and we went through twice before moving on.

"Oh, look, the beauty pageant is about to start!" Sasha gasped as she gripped my hand and dragged me away. "Help me!" I called to Shoto and Momo as they laughed at my misery. When they finally caught up to us, we had found seats for the four of us.

"Can we leave?" I asked Sasha, and she shook her head. "Nope, but if you behave, I might put on a show later." I didn't say a word for the rest of the event.

"Oh wow, I didn't think Itsuka would look so good in that tone of blue!" Momo hummed as Itsuka did her thing. I was surprised as well. Seeing her on stage made me realize just how short Itsuka was.

I guess her personality and high ponytail added a few inches in my head, since she was usually smacking Monoma and Tetsutesu when they did something stupid. "You're staring." Sasha coughed as I frowned.

"Was she always so short? I could've sworn she was taller?" I explained my confusion as Momo snorted. "I guess she does have a rather spirited personality." Shoto nodded as the next contestant floated onto the runway.

"Oh, she's beautiful!" Momo gasped as Nejire made her way down, her quirk adding to her charm. As I noticed Shoto staring, I nudged Sasha, and she silently snapped a picture.

Nejire shows off her graceful moves in the air as she flies about, and I actually enjoy the little show she puts on. I do not enjoy the next creature that arrived on a parade float, shaped like her face.

After that mess, we're told to vote, and it comes down to Itsuka, Nejire, and the float girl. Monoma somehow gets on stage and urges everyone to vote for Itsuka; she spartan kicks him back down. I was going to vote for Nejire, but that was just awesome.

"Please tell me you got that?" I asked Sasha after sending in my vote, and she grinned while sending it to me. I immediately sent it to the class group chat, where Bakugo responded for the second time ever.

At least he didn't swear this time. He only sent a ten-second audio message of him laughing his butt off at Monoma's face. Progress.

Nejire, of course, won the most votes, and I was finally free.

So I grabbed Shoto and took off towards the obstacle course. We found a few other guys already there, including Bakugo. It was actually pretty fun to do. The class in charge had designed their course pretty well and kept people from using their quirks to make things fair.

Even then, Bakugo was in the top 5 spots before he finally gave up. Shoto only tried it once, but I went through it a couple of times with Kirishima and Sato. They were pretty cool guys who didn't mind helping each other get over things.

Once I'm finally done with my fun, Sasha tells me that they have to leave to get ready for their last performance, so I walk by myself towards the Support Course area. Of course it's mostly nerds over here, but Mei's pulled out something I didn't expect.

"This is my Super Cute Baby-202-B!" She exclaimed as she showed off her mech suit. I'd seen her working on the thing a few weeks ago, but it seems she'd seen my schematics for the T-45 and added some in.

I didn't mind; it actually looked pretty cool. The first design had a solid set of legs, but its arms and frame seemed a bit frail in comparison. Now it was much more solid in stature, still much larger than needed, but pretty cool. Mei would be a great help when I finally made my suits.

After leaving the Support Course area, I ran into Aizawa and Midnight, who were showing a decent-sized group of foreigners around. I tried to turn tail and run, but I didn't get far. "Oh, here is one of our top students! Come say hello, Micah!" Midnight said sweetly, and I sighed.

The group was pretty small: two guys and one girl my age in normal clothes, and two adults. One was actually pretty short, about Tokoyami's height, though his scowl was kinda scary. The other was a brown-haired woman with a manic gleam in her eye. She's a bit taller as well, around Kirishima's height.

"This is Levi; he's going to be teaching alongside All Might during your Heroics class." Aizawa introduced the shorter man, who nodded at me. Wait, Levi?

"Sorry if I offend, but what's your last name?" I asked Levi, and he confirmed my fears. "Ackerman," Levi said simply as I tried not to take a step away from who I now recognized as Eren.

'I get things are supposed to ramp up, but TITANS?! REALLY?!'

"Oh, I recognize you! From the sports festival!" Hange suddenly shouted as she got right in my face. "I have SO many questions about how your quirk works!" Her eyes gleamed as Levi dragged her away from me.

"She's not going to teach, too, is she?" I glanced at Aizawa, and he nodded. "Quirk theory. She's one of the leading experts in the world." She was going to have a field day when she got her hands on Izuku.

Levi then nodded at Eren and the others as they finally introduced themselves. "I'm Eren Yaeger, nice to meet you." Eren kicked things off as Mikasa simply gave her name. "I'm Armin Arlert! It's nice to meet someone who fought alongside the Symbol of Peace!"

"Oh, I didn't think anyone from other countries would recognize me," I said in fake surprise. Nezu had already told me to expect all the exchange students to approach me at some point. He especially warned about saying too much around the U.S and Chinese students.

"Oh, I saw it live!" Armin exclaimed, "I was watching a football match with a friend when the news station took over, and we stayed to watch it." Eren gave him a look. "You? Friends with Annie? When did you guys even watch something?"

Armin wisely kept silent as I tried to wrap my head around this. Thankfully, Midnight came to the rescue. "Well, since you guys got here just in time, let's all go see 1-A's last performance." She then led the way as I made sure Armin was between Eren and me. If Mikasa was anything like the show, I'd better not get too close.

Armin kept the conversation going as we made our way over to the venue. I tried bringing up the topic of quirks at one point, but they didn't say much. "You'll see during training," Eren said simply as Levi snorted.

As we entered the already dark gym, I could tell there were many more people here compared to last time. It seemed that people must have really liked their performance this morning if so many came back, and others joined them.

I'd like to say it took a second for my eyes to adjust, but with my new Viltrumite trait, the darkness did basically nothing as I glanced at Eren, only to double-take.

'That isn't normal, and very worrying.'

Eren's eyes were glowing. Now enough to be noticed by normal sight, but just enough that my newly enhanced sense could tell. Glancing around, I saw no one else was doing the same, which means Eren definitely had titan powers.

Glancing over at Armin, my stomach dropped when I saw the same glow. I was standing next to the Colossal Titan.

I forced my body to relax, since both Levi and Mikasa would react the second I tensed. My mind raced, however, to figure out how Armin could have such power.

'If Armin has the Colossal, does Bertholdt exist? Annie does; I heard her name several times already, as well as Reiner. They didn't sound angry, however, and Eren isn't as aggressive as he was during the show.

Is his mother still alive? Grisha is certainly dead since the titans can only be passed through consumption, so that brings me back to Armin. How does he have it?!'

"Micah, are you alright?" Armin asked me, and I nodded absently. Bakugo then kicked things off with an explosion as they became distracted once more.

'What the heck was Nezu thinking?! Letting now one, but TWO TITANS into U.A?! I know I could drown the entire island if I wanted, but that's still something else.

I don't know why I'm worrying so much, though. Armin is a decent person who probably won't use his titan, and I'm sure Levi is here specifically to 'take care' of Eren. Mikasa's actually the easiest to deal with: stay away from Eren and don't make her jealous.

Seeing Aizawa glance at me, I give him the good old 'we need to talk' eyes before turning back to watch the rest of the performance. This was going to be interesting.
