As the Umbra Panther lunged at him Verso did not bother retreating. Instead he twisted his torso, turning with full momentum as he swung the dark marble cleaver in a brutal horizontal arc.

The panther's obsidian claws tore through Verso's shirt, carving three grim looking lines across his chest.
Searing and burning sensation flooded his nervous system, but he knew that he could not afford to react to it right now.
Lucky for him, his cleaver connected as the heavy blade sliced through the air and catching the panther across the face, cutting deep into the predator's left eye.
Both Verso and the Panther skidded back, creating a five meter gap between them.
