Chapter 82 - chapter 82:THE MOMENT REALITY REMEMBERS

Relief.

That was the word my mind refused to accept.

Because relief was human.

Relief was something that belonged to people who suffered, who waited, who hoped.

But that thing…

That existence standing behind the Final Door…

Should not have been capable of anything human at all.

Yet I heard it again.

Clearer this time.

"Kael."

The way it said my name did not feel like a command anymore.

It felt like recognition.

Like someone finally seeing a face they had been searching for across impossible ages.

The ruins around us trembled violently again.

A deep cracking sound spread across the ground beneath my feet as if the world itself was trying to split open and escape whatever was happening here. The black mist continued to expand, swallowing broken stone and shattered pillars without resistance.

Everything it touched simply disappeared.

Not destroyed.

Not broken.

Erased from existence itself.

Faye pulled me slightly backward, her hand shaking violently against mine.

"Kael…please…" she whispered,"you're not listening to me anymore…"

Her voice was breaking now.

Not from fear of the entity.

But from fear of losing me inside it.

And that…

That hurt more than the pain inside my body.

Because deep down,I could feel it too.

The synchronization inside me was no longer just reacting.

It was responding.

Like a missing part of me had finally been found.

Silver fractures spread further across my chest, slowly crawling up my neck and jaw like living light trying to rewrite my body. The pain was unbearable now,but it no longer felt like punishment.

It felt like awakening.

Another chain snapped.

The sound was so loud it felt like the sky itself had been torn apart.

The Door opened wider.

And with it,the entity stepped further into reality.

This time,it was no longer just an arm.

No longer just fragments of its presence.

Its entire upper body emerged from the void, and the moment it crossed further into our world, the laws of existence around it began to collapse.

Space bent unnaturally.

Light refused to travel properly.

Even sound became unstable, warping strangely in the air.

And everywhere it moved…

Reality vanished.

Faye stumbled backward completely now,her eyes wide with horror.

"Oh my God…Kael,that thing…it's not just powerful…it's wrong…"

Wrong.

That was the only word that made sense.

Because nothing about its existence obeyed anything I knew.

It did not walk.

It unfolded into reality.

It did not move through space.

Space simply stopped resisting it.

The synchronization inside me screamed again.

But this time,it was different.

Not just fear.

Warning.

Deep primal warning that shook my entire consciousness.

DO NOT COMPLETE THE OPENING.

Pain exploded through my skull instantly.

Another vision tore through me violently.

And suddenly…

I was no longer here.

I was inside the memory again.

But this time,it was different.

The chamber was larger.

More ancient.

More broken.

The Final Gate stood before me,but it was not fully sealed anymore.

Cracks covered its surface like wounds that had been left untreated for eternity.

And in front of it stood the First Keeper.

But not as I had seen him before.

Now he was older.

More exhausted.

Almost hollow.

His silver fractures were no longer just glowing beneath his skin.

They were spreading outward into the environment itself.

Like even reality was beginning to accept his collapse.

Around him stood only a few remaining keepers.

Not hundreds anymore.

Not thousands.

Just a handful.

Their faces were pale, broken, and filled with the kind of fear that no words could properly describe.

One of them spoke weakly.

"We can't maintain synchronization anymore…it's collapsing."

Another fell to his knees.

"It's too late…we've been holding it back too long…"

The First Keeper did not respond immediately.

He simply stared at the Gate.

Like he was listening to something only he could hear.

Then slowly…

He spoke.

"No."

One word.

But it silenced everything.

Even the trembling of the chamber seemed to pause for a moment.

The other keepers looked at him in confusion.

But his eyes were no longer focused on them.

They were focused beyond the Gate.

Beyond reality itself.

And then he said something that made my blood freeze.

"It is not collapsing."

He turned slightly.

His voice became quieter.

"It is responding."

A long silence followed.

Then one of the keepers whispered.

"Responding to what?"

The First Keeper closed his eyes.

And when he spoke again…

His voice was barely audible.

"To the successor."

The vision twisted violently.

The chamber shook.

The Gate pulsed like something alive.

And then—

I saw it.

The entity.

Not fully formed.

Not fully visible.

But present.

Watching through the cracks.

And for the first time…

It was not silent.

It was waiting.

The First Keeper fell to his knees slowly.

Not from injury.

From understanding.

"No…" he whispered,"it was never sealed…"

His voice broke.

"It was only waiting for the right synchronization."

The vision shattered instantly.

I returned to reality gasping violently for air.

My body collapsed slightly forward, but Faye caught me immediately.

"Kael!Look at me!Please!"

Her voice was desperate now.

But I couldn't answer.

Because something inside me had changed completely.

The synchronization no longer felt like something inside me.

It felt like something I had been born carrying.

Like a key shaped into a human being.

And behind me…

The entity stepped closer again.

Now fully visible through the opening.

Its head tilted slightly.

Almost gently.

As if observing a long-lost truth finally returning home.

Then it spoke again.

But this time…

Its voice was no longer just calm.

It was certain.

"Welcome back."

And in that moment…

I understood the most terrifying truth of all.

It was not coming to invade our world.

It was coming back for me.
