Chapter 206 - The Unshakeable Heir

Chapter 206: The Unshakeable Heir

The silence in the Hyūga main dojo was absolute, broken only by the distant sounds of Konoha settling into the afternoon. Neji lay defeated, his body and his beliefs shattered.

Hinata, breathing steadily, turned from her fallen cousin. Under the shocked, disbelieving, and newly respectful gazes of her entire clan, she walked back towards the platform where her Master stood.

She stopped before Uchiha Akira and bowed slightly, her voice a quiet whisper, filled with relief and a touch of lingering awe at her own actions.

"Master, I… I did not disgrace you."

"Hmm." Akira looked down at her, his Rinnegan eyes holding a rare, almost imperceptible hint of approval. "You did very well, Hinata."

He saw the change in her. The hesitation was gone, replaced by a calm, quiet strength.

The current Hinata. She now possessed the strength and the will to stand on her own.

Uchiha Akira reached out and gently patted Hinata's shoulder. "Go. Sit with Naruto and rest well. Your part is done."

"Yes, Master."

Hinata walked over and sat down on the bench next to Naruto, who looked like he was about to explode with excitement.

Naruto immediately leaned in, practically vibrating, his face full of adoring stars.

"Hinata-chan! You were amazing! SO AMAZING! What was that last move called?! It was so cool! It was like… like WHOOSH, and then BAM BAM BAM, like countless hands hitting him all at once! He didn't even know what hit him!"

Naruto's limited vocabulary forced him to use the simplest, most enthusiastic language to describe the complex Gentle Fist technique she had used.

Hinata giggled, a light, relieved sound, amused by his frantic description. "It's… a technique Master helped me refine."

Meanwhile, Hyūga Hiashi and the clan elders finally recovered from their immense shock. The image of Neji, their prodigy, being so utterly, effortlessly dismantled by the 'failure' Hinata... it had short-circuited their rigid minds.

Hyūga Hiashi quickly composed himself. He understood the implications instantly. He walked up to Uchiha Akira, taking three quick steps for every two, and bowed deeply. Much deeper than before.

His posture was more respectful, more deferential, than any time before.

"Lord Hokage!" His voice was thick with emotion. "It… it was I who was blind! It was the entire Hyūga Clan who was blind!"

[She is strong. Impossibly strong. And she is his disciple.]

The Hyūga Clan finally had a true heir. One who could not only carry the main family's banner but who was directly connected to the most powerful man in the world.

"If not for Lord Hokage's careful guidance, this child, Hinata, would probably… sigh!"

Hyūga Hiashi sighed heavily, his face filled with genuine regret, but also a dawning, calculating hope.

The surrounding elders, catching their cue, also chimed in, their faces masks of newfound reverence.

"Indeed! The Hyūga Clan will never forget Lord Hokage's kindness in teaching Lady Hinata!"

"Lady Hinata is exceptionally talented! We always knew she had potential! And now, with Lord Hokage's personal guidance, her future achievements are limitless!"

"It is the family's greatest fortune to have such an heir in our Hyūga Clan!"

For a time, various compliments and praises flowed endlessly, washing over Akira like water off stone.

Uchiha Akira listened quietly, his expression unreadable.

When they had finally said enough, Uchiha Akira spoke. His voice was not loud, but it cut through the lingering flattery like a razor.

"Now you know her value?"

Hyūga Hiashi and the others all showed awkward, embarrassed expressions.

Uchiha Akira's gaze, cold and heavy, swept over every Hyūga clansman present. Main Family. Branch Family. Elders. Children.

An indescribable, suffocating sense of oppression descended, making all the Hyūga clansmen unconsciously hold their breath. The air grew thick, heavy with unspoken threat.

"Hyūga Hinata is my disciple."

His voice was calm, stating a simple, immutable fact.

"From today onwards, she is your Hyūga Main Family's rightful, unique heir."

The word "unique" hung in the air, a direct challenge to any thoughts of Hanabi, Hinata's younger sister.

Uchiha Akira's voice echoed throughout the silent training ground.

"I don't care what you thought of her before. I don't care what schemes you have plotted in your minds."

"From now on, whoever dares to look down on her again... whoever dares to question her status in any way..."

Uchiha Akira paused, letting the silence stretch. His eyes suddenly turned ice-cold, the purple Rinnegan seeming to drain the warmth from the air.

"They should weigh carefully whether they are qualified to bear the wrath… of me, Uchiha Akira."

As his final words fell, a massive, terrifying aura erupted from Uchiha Akira! It was not chaotic killing intent; it was the overwhelming, absolute pressure of a god declaring his decree.

All the Hyūga clansmen present, whether from the Main Family or Branch Family, whether powerful elders or young children, all felt their blood run cold! Their faces paled under the sheer, crushing weight of his presence!

This was the prestige of the Fifth Hokage! The power of the man who commanded Wood Release and the Rinnegan!

Thud!

Hyūga Hiashi was the first to react. Without hesitation, he dropped to one knee, bowing his head!

"Lord Hokage, please rest assured! From now on, Lady Hinata's status in the Hyūga Clan will be unshakeable! Should anyone violate this, there will be no need for Lord Hokage to act; I, Hiashi, will personally clean house!"

His pledge was absolute, driven by both fear and a newfound political calculation.

With Hyūga Hiashi leading the way, the other elders and clansmen also quickly knelt down, one after another, a wave of white robes hitting the stone floor.

"We respectfully obey Lord Hokage's command!"

"We swear to defend Lady Hinata to the death!"

Their voices, united in submission, echoed in the dojo.

Uchiha Akira looked at the scene before him—the entire Hyūga clan kneeling before his disciple—and nodded with cold satisfaction.

This was the effect he wanted.

No one could afford to provoke a disciple of Uchiha Akira. The message was clear.

Uchiha Akira retracted his aura as quickly as it had appeared. The suffocating pressure lifted, leaving the Hyūga members trembling and gasping slightly.

He turned, his robes swirling, and walked towards the exit of the training ground.

"Naruto. Hinata. Let's go."

"Yes! Master!"

The two quickly followed, leaving the kneeling Hyūga clan behind.

It wasn't until Uchiha Akira's figure completely disappeared at the entrance that the heavy, fearful atmosphere in the training ground slowly began to dissipate.

Hyūga Hiashi and the others then dared to slowly, stiffly, stand up from the ground.

Many people's backs, under their formal robes, were already soaked with cold sweat.

Hyūga Hiashi's gaze fell upon Neji, who was still kneeling where he had fallen, his head bowed, utterly disheartened.

His eyes became incredibly complex. Regret, pity, and perhaps... a flicker of something else.

He sighed and walked over to his nephew.

"Neji. Get up."

Neji slowly raised his head. His Byakugan eyes were blank, his belief system shattered.

"Lord Hiashi… I…"

"Don't say anything."

Hyūga Hiashi placed a hand on Neji's shoulder.

"What happened today... humiliating as it was... might not be a bad thing for you."

"After you go back, think carefully. Think about what Hinata said to you. About fate, and bonds."

[Inorin's Note: Hiashi is likely referring to the core conflict of Neji's character - his belief in a predetermined 'fate' dictated by the Main/Branch family system, symbolized by the Caged Bird seal on his forehead.]

"Perhaps," Hiashi said softly, his voice meant only for Neji, "your destiny can truly begin to change from today."

The night was as dark as ink, and the moonlight was like cool water spilled across the rooftops of Konoha.

On the streets, pedestrians gradually became scarce. Only a few late-night stalls remained open, and the sparse streetlights emitted a dim, yellow glow.

Uchiha Akira finished the last of his work for the day and slowly walked out of the Hokage Building.

Not far away, under the dark silhouette of a blossoming cherry blossom tree near the entrance, a red figure stood quietly.

Seeing Uchiha Akira approach, Kurenai Yūhi's face showed a gentle, waiting smile.

"Akira. Are you done with work?"

"Yes." Uchiha Akira nodded, walking to her side. The scent of cherry blossoms hung faintly in the cool night air. "It's so late. Why are you still here?"

"Waiting for you," Kurenai replied simply, her voice soft. It was a direct answer, without pretense.

In the dim light, Kurenai Yūhi's crimson eyes watched Uchiha Akira without blinking.

"I heard… that something happened with the Hyūga Clan today."

"News travels quite fast." Uchiha Akira allowed himself a small smile.

"After all," Kurenai said softly, "it's a rather large matter concerning Lord Hokage's personal disciple… and the succession of the Hyūga Clan, one of Konoha's oldest families."

"It has already spread throughout the Village by sunset."

She looked at Akira, a clear hint of admiration in her eyes.

"Not only did you clear Hinata's name and restore her position, but you also completely deterred anyone with ulterior motives within the clan. Only you could employ such decisive, absolute methods."

"I just did what needed to be done." Uchiha Akira said indifferently. Hinata was his disciple. An attack on her status was an attack on his.

"Let's go. I'll walk you home."

"Okay."

Kurenai Yūhi responded easily, falling into step alongside him.

The two walked side by side on the quiet, empty street. Neither spoke for a long while.

The moonlight stretched their shadows long behind them, occasionally intertwining as they walked, and then quickly separating again.

The atmosphere was quiet, peaceful, yet a bit subtle.

"That…"

Finally, Kurenai broke the comfortable silence, though her voice was hesitant.

"Last time… Lady Tsunade's matter… did it cause you trouble?"

Kurenai was referring, of course, to the "war" that had erupted between Tsunade and her at Uchiha Akira's house over snacks that day, culminating in Tsunade's kitchen explosion.

"Trouble is not the word." Uchiha Akira recalled Tsunade's disastrous attempt at cooking, the sheer scale of the destruction, and couldn't help but chuckle softly.

"But it was… quite interesting."

"You're still laughing!"

Kurenai gave Akira a light, chiding look, though her own lips quirked upwards. Her cheeks felt slightly warm in the cool air.

"Lady Tsunade… she just has that kind of passionate, competitive personality."

"I know." Uchiha Akira said, his smile fading slightly. "She is a respectable comrade. And a valuable asset to the village."

The words felt… slightly formal. Calculated.

"Just… a comrade?"

Kurenai's voice was very soft, almost a whisper, carried on the night breeze.

It was unclear if she was asking Uchiha Akira, or if she was simply asking the question aloud, testing the air, perhaps even asking herself.

Uchiha Akira's footsteps paused.

He stopped walking and turned to look directly at Kurenai Yūhi under the pale moonlight.
