Chapter 6: Applying to Join the Uchiha Guard
The Uchiha Guard Headquarters was a majestic building located in the heart of the Uchiha Clan Territory. Akira took a deep breath and walked through the main entrance.
Inside the hall, several Uchiha Clan members in Guard uniforms were busy at work. Seeing Akira walk in, a young Guard member in charge of reception looked up, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes.
"What do you want, kid?"
"My name is Uchiha Akira, and I'm here to submit my application to join the Guard," Akira said, taking a pre-prepared application form from his pocket.
"Uchiha Akira?" The Guard member was stunned for a moment, as if remembering something, and looked at Akira a few more times. There had been many rumors about this name within the clan recently. He took the application form and quickly scanned it.
"According to regulations, one generally needs to reach the strength of an Elite Genin to apply."
"I know the rules," Akira replied. "I am confident in my strength and hope to get a chance for the assessment." Akira's eyes showed strong self-confidence.
The Guard member was deterred by Akira's imposing aura and hesitated for a moment. "An early assessment requires a recommendation from a Captain or higher, or… you can demonstrate sufficient potential in the strength test."
"I choose the strength test," Akira said without hesitation. Before coming, he had already clarified the procedure. The preliminary strength test was actually very simple: it just tested the amount of Chakra and the mastery of basic Ninjutsu. With his current strength as an Elite Chunin, passing this test would be effortless.
"Alright, follow me." The Guard member nodded and led Akira to a small testing ground on the side of the hall.
Inside, a rather capable-looking middle-aged man was leaning against the wall, resting with his eyes closed. He was wearing the uniform of a Guard Captain.
"Captain Tekka, this kid is Uchiha Akira, and he wants to apply for an early assessment," the Guard member said respectfully.
Uchiha Tekka slowly opened his eyes. His sharp gaze, like an eagle's, fell on Akira, scrutinizing him up and down.
"Uchiha Akira?" He repeated in a low voice, seemingly having some impression of the name. "Is he the kid who's been causing quite a stir in the clan recently?"
"Yes, Captain."
Akira's expression was calm, and he met the other party's gaze steadily.
[Uchiha Tekka, Strength: Jonin (High-tier), Loyalty: 70% (to the clan), 5% (to the host).]
Akira understood in his heart; it seemed his reputation had already reached the ears of these high-ranking Guard members.
"Kid, assessments are no joke," Tekka said. "If you're just relying on a little cleverness and luck, I advise you to go home obediently. The Guard isn't a place just anyone can enter."
"Whether it's luck or not, we'll know after a test," Akira replied with a slight smile and full confidence.
"Haha! The kid has guts." Tekka looked at him and nodded with satisfaction. "Then let me see what makes you qualified to say that."
Tekka pointed to a Chakra testing crystal in the center of the testing ground. "Infuse your Chakra into it."
Akira stepped forward as instructed, placed his right hand on the crystal ball, and slowly injected the Chakra from his body into it.
Buzz—!
The crystal ball instantly burst forth with dazzling blue light, the intensity and range of which far exceeded that of an ordinary Genin, and was even stronger than some veteran Chunin.
"Hmm?" Tekka's eyes narrowed, and a hint of surprise appeared on his face. His Chakra reserves actually reached the level of an Elite Chunin! A twelve-year-old Elite Chunin was considered a small genius in the history of the Uchiha Clan.
"Not bad," Tekka nodded, his disdainful expression receding. "Now, perform your most proficient Fire Release Ninjutsu."
Akira took a deep breath and quickly formed hand signs.
"Fire Release: Dragon Fire Technique!"
A ferocious fire dragon, composed of flames, roared out from his mouth, circling agilely in the air, and precisely hitting the distant target.
Boom!
The target was instantly blown to smithereens. This Fire Release, whether in terms of power, form, or precision of control, was impeccable.
Tekka's pupils constricted slightly. He himself was skilled in Fire Release, so he naturally saw the subtlety of Akira's Dragon Fire Technique. This was definitely not a level that an ordinary Chunin could achieve.
The Guard member in charge of reception was now dumbfounded. He had originally thought Akira was just an arrogant kid, but he never expected him to actually have some real skills. This strength was considerably stronger than his own.
"Very good," Tekka said. "Your strength indeed qualifies you to participate in the assessment. I have approved your application. The assessment will be in three days, and someone will inform you of the specific arrangements."
"Thank you, Captain Tekka," Akira bowed slightly.
"Don't thank me; the Guard only looks at strength," Tekka waved his hand. "I am quite looking forward to what kind of surprise you can bring me in the official assessment."
In Tekka's eyes, there was a hint of genuine appreciation and anticipation. Akira nodded, said nothing more, and turned to leave the testing ground. The preliminary test had been passed.
Next up was the real main event—the Guard entry assessment. He had to demonstrate strength convincing enough for everyone in the assessment.
"The Sharingan can be revealed, but its Genjutsu abilities, especially those involving mental attacks, cannot be easily used."
"In terms of Fire Release, I can show control beyond that of an ordinary Elite Chunin, but I cannot fully expose the trump card of 'All-System Mastery'."
"In terms of Taijutsu, it also needs to be controlled within the scope of an Elite Chunin, but I can demonstrate excellent combat awareness and reaction speed."
Akira walked along, silently planning his performance strategy for the assessment in his mind. The Konoha higher-ups, especially Danzō Shimura, always maintained a high degree of vigilance toward the Uchiha Clan. Any Uchiha Clan member who appeared too "monstrous" would become a key target of their attention and might even attract assassination.
In fact, every year, many outstanding Uchiha who showed great potential and awakened their Bloodline Limit died mysteriously during missions. Akira did not want to repeat the same mistakes.
Power must be used precisely. Before having absolute certainty, it was better to keep a low profile and develop stealthily. Once he had the strength, even if he directly went and eliminated Danzō, the Third Hokage wouldn't dare to turn hostile.
