Chapter 879 - Water-Type Pokémon Trainer Misty and Pokémon Goldeen

Chapter 879: Water-Type Pokémon Trainer Misty and Pokémon Goldeen

Kikyo held her longbow, the polished wood smooth against her palm. She stood perfectly still, her spiritual awareness sweeping the quiet forest, vigilant for even the slightest disturbance.

Yet, no monster emerged from the shadows.

"What is going on?" she murmured, her voice barely a whisper in the wind.

Her delicate eyebrows knit together, breaking the usual serene composure of her porcelain face. Her dark, focused gaze locked onto the glowing, ethereal light screen hovering inexplicably in the air right before her.

As confusion rippled through her disciplined mind, a sudden, abrupt flood of alien knowledge forced its way into her consciousness.

Instantly detecting the anomaly, she tightened her grip on her bow and tried to erect a spiritual barrier against the intrusion. She suspected it was some insidious new demon's power, yet her heightened senses could not pinpoint a demonic aura anywhere in the vicinity.

A moment later, the resistance faded.

A rare look of genuine surprise flashed through Kikyo's dark eyes.

The Doomsday Chat Group. A strange, otherworldly nexus that connected entirely different worlds currently facing their own respective apocalypses.

The sudden influx of knowledge carefully detailed the very nature of the floating screen before her. Because it was directly implanted into her mind as pure information, she naturally understood its mechanics.

But it was precisely because she understood it that she felt so deeply shocked.

"Can such a miraculous thing really exist?" she whispered to the empty woods.

She had never encountered the concept of alternate worlds before. For a long moment, she simply could not confirm its authenticity. Given her harsh reality, her instincts told her this was far more likely to be an elaborate, high-level demonic trick designed to lower her guard.

After a brief moment of cold calculation, she made her decision.

Kikyo: "Is this a demon's spell? If your true goal is to seize the Shikon Jewel, then drop this illusion and show yourself."

Saeko Busujima: "First of all, welcome to the new members."

Saeko Busujima: "Secondly, the knowledge you just gained about the Chat Group after joining is entirely true."

Saeko Busujima: "Finally, we are not the demons you perceive us to be, nor do we have any desire to seize this thing you call the Shikon Jewel."

Shinobu Kocho: "My, my, Saeko. You certainly answered everything all at once, but our new member probably can't process all of that so quickly."

Vivi: "Whether they accept it or not isn't really something we can decide for them. It's enough that we fulfill our duty of explaining the situation."

Mikasa: "The facts will eventually make her believe."

Inori Yuzuriha: "Mhm."

March 7th: "Haha, anyway, it's exactly like everyone said! Kikyo, Misty, why don't you two introduce yourselves? As the saying goes, communication is the very first step to making new friends!"

Ren: "Kikyo, Misty, it's perfectly fine if you don't believe it right now. Just talking to us won't cost you anything."

Mikoto Misaka: "I think as the group leader, you should be the one taking the lead here."

Ren: "Alright, fair enough."

Lounging comfortably in his own world, Ren smiled faintly at the holographic interface. In truth, he already knew exactly who these two newcomers were.

Kikyo. The tragic, immensely powerful shrine maiden from the world of Inuyasha.

Misty. The fiery, aspiring Water-type Pokémon Master from the Pokémon universe.

Seeing their names pop up in the chat brought a wave of nostalgic memories flooding back to him.

Ren: "Let me formally introduce myself. I am Ren, the group leader of this Doomsday Chat Group. You can call me by my name or just call me group leader, whatever makes you comfortable."

Back in the quiet forest, Kikyo's dark eyes flickered with calculation.

This person did not seem to know about the Shikon Jewel. Or at least, they were playing dumb. Even if she could not be entirely certain this wasn't a sophisticated disguise, one thing remained true: a simple, cautious exchange of words might yield the answers she needed without exposing her position.

Kikyo: "Kikyo. Shrine maiden."

Exusiai: "Uh, isn't your introduction a little bit too simple? Don't you have any more information to share?"

Kikyo: "No."

Maintaining her strict caution, she refused to offer a single unnecessary word.

Misaki Shokuhou: "Oh my, it seems our new member isn't exactly the talkative type."

Misaki Shokuhou: "But I think our dear Ren-kun can definitely fill in the blanks and tell us more about her~"

Ren: "There isn't too much useful information to share, honestly. It's pretty much exactly what she said."

Ren: "Kikyo is a shrine maiden, but in her specific world, she is an exceptionally powerful one, possessing immense spiritual power used to exorcise demons."

Ren: "And judging from what she said earlier, she should currently be guarding the Shikon Jewel, which perfectly explains why she is so incredibly wary of us."

Kikyo: "How do you know that?!"

In the physical world, Kikyo's pupils constricted sharply. Her knuckles turned white around the grip of her bow.

This person actually knew about the Shikon Jewel.

'Is it a demon after all?' she thought, her spiritual energy flaring up around her in a defensive aura.

Ren: "Don't mistake me for some lowly demon. I could wipe out the demons of your world with a casual flick of my wrist. As the group leader of the Doomsday Chat Group, it's only reasonable for me to know a lot of things. Don't overthink it."

Rory Takakura: "Don't worry, none of us have any intention of snatching your things. Ren-ge's words are one hundred percent trustworthy, you know."

Kikyo: "...Ren, you truly know about the Shikon Jewel?"

Kiana: "What exactly is the Shikon Jewel? Just some kind of shiny rock?"

Ren: "It was formed by a powerful shrine maiden during countless, grueling battles against demons, ultimately merging her own soul with the souls of the demons she fought. It is an incredibly potent spiritual jade."

Ren: "In her world, both humans and demons firmly believe this item can grant any wish, which is why every demon in existence is desperately trying to get their claws on it."

Artoria: "Powerful spiritual energy... capable of granting wishes. That sounds remarkably similar to the Holy Grail."

Tushan Honghong: "It does seem very similar in nature."

Aqua: "Tsk, what's so great about a wish-granting machine? You're all much better off just believing in this beautiful goddess right here! Granting wishes is easy-peasy for me, isn't it?"

Ren chuckled, leaning back in his chair with a wicked glint in his eye. He typed out his reply without missing a beat.

Ren: "Is that so? Then can you strip naked and wait for me in bed right now? I'd very much like to experience your flavor."

Aqua: "???"

Misty: "Eh?! Strip... strip naked?! Can you really just say things like that out loud?!"

Erza: "Ah, it seems the other new member has finally decided to speak up."

Tingyun: "Miss Misty is more than welcome to introduce herself as well."

Misty: "Ah, Miss... being called 'Miss' makes me sound way too mature~"

Misty: "Hello everyone! I'm Misty, and I'm aspiring to be the world's absolute top Water-type Pokémon Trainer!"

Misty: "[Image]"

Misty: "And this right here is my Goldeen!"

Misty was clearly much more adaptable to the bizarre situation than the cautious Kikyo. She had already figured out how to operate the interface and send pictures, a clear sign that she came from a world with a much higher level of modern civilization.

The image she uploaded popped up in the chat. It displayed a vibrant, red-and-white goldfish sporting a sharp, single horn on its head. Standing right beside the creature, striking a confident pose, was a lively girl with bright orange hair tied in a side ponytail.

Furina: "Oh my goodness, so cute!"

Chito: "It is very cute, but this goldfish... it's absolutely huge!"

Just as Chito pointed out, compared to the young girl standing next to it, the goldfish's size was completely exaggerated. It was at least the size of a human child, hovering effortlessly in the air.

Saeko Busujima: "This is supposed to be a goldfish? Why is it out on land?"

Kiana: "Hey, even though everyone here always calls me an idiot, even I know a normal goldfish can't grow anywhere near that big! And it definitely shouldn't be looking that energetic while flopping around on dry land!"

Shiroyasha: "Tsk tsk, she literally just said this thing is called a 'Goldeen'. It's clearly not your average, everyday animal. I'm willing to bet this is the exotic beast she referred to as a 'Pokémon'."

Silver Wolf: "I was literally just about to type that."

Kikyo: "Is it a monster?"

Misty: "Eh?! Goldeen isn't a monster! It's my precious Pokémon that I've been raising carefully since I was little!"

Misty: "Wait, don't you guys know about Pokémon?"

Misty: "Oh... oh, right! This strange Chat Group thing did say that everyone here is from completely different worlds."
