Chapter 853: Date A Live Spirits Kotori Itsuka, Reine Murasame
The dust had finally settled over Kazimierz.
Margaret Nearl had claimed the Knight Tournament championship, her victory echoing through the neon-lit streets. The city erupted in a deafening celebration for the Radiant Knight. It was the purest tournament the city had seen in an age, a singular event that fundamentally shifted the political and social landscape of all Kazimierz.
And the man who had truly orchestrated this massive upheaval? He was currently lounging in the opulent depths of the Nearl family estate, enjoying the spoils of his labor.
For weeks, the grand manor echoed with the soft, breathless sounds of beautiful women.
Ren had transformed the estate into his personal paradise. Whether it was the proud women of the Nearl bloodline, the deadly duo from the Armorless Union, or Theresa and the fierce girls of the Pinus Sylvestris knight order—none were spared from his relentless affection. He pampered them day and night, leaving them blissfully exhausted, their bellies thoroughly filled and their minds melting under his expert touch.
"I need to leave for a while."
The moment those words left his lips, the warm, languid atmosphere in the massive bed shifted.
The girls froze, blinking away their post-coital haze.
"Ren, where are you going?"
Surprisingly, the most frantic reaction came from Monique. The once-cold assassin of the Armorless Union clung to his arm, her eyes wide with genuine reluctance. Her submission to Ren was absolute, seeping into her very marrow. It was a direct result of the abusive spot checks Ren had subjected her to. He had thoroughly broken down her defenses, and in doing so, awakened a deeply ingrained masochistic fetish within her. She craved his heavy-handed discipline.
Ren chuckled, reaching out to pinch her flushed cheek. "I can't just drown in this gentle embrace forever. I have to head back and check on my own world."
He shifted his attention, gently stroking Theresa's soft, beautiful hair. "After I leave, take them all to Rhodes Island."
Theresa leaned into his palm, a soft hum escaping her throat. "Mm-hmm. I will bring them back safely."
"Oh, right, Ren," Theresa added, her eyes gleaming with amusement. "Kal'tsit mentioned that Rhodes Island is going to make a major move soon. You might have quite the surprise waiting for you the next time you visit."
Ren's lips curled into a knowing smirk. "I'll look forward to it, then."
He already knew exactly what Kal'tsit was plotting.
A Rhodes Island Branch Company.
It was a thinly veiled excuse tailored entirely to Ren's personal tastes. Kal'tsit was establishing a massive new branch and transferring a highly specific roster of female operators and staff directly into it. It was, for all intents and purposes, a dedicated wing for his harem.
She could afford to do this because the core strength of Rhodes Island had skyrocketed to absurd heights. Thanks to Ren's deep, intimate exchanges with operators like FrostNova, their combat capabilities had been boosted to an invincible, world-breaking level. Rhodes Island possessed a surplus of military might. Dividing that power into a new branch was a perfectly logical tactical move.
Coupled with Ren's insatiable appetite for beautiful women, Kal'tsit had executed the plan with ruthless efficiency.
She had been completely conquered by him—body, mind, and soul. But her decision wasn't just blind infatuation. Kal'tsit was a pragmatist. She saw the reality of the situation with crystal clarity. As long as Ren was kept happy and satisfied, he could casually reshape the entirety of Terra. He could even pull the dead back to the world of the living.
Building him a custom branch was a ridiculously cheap price to pay for a god's favor.
Ren stretched his arms and prepared to get out of bed.
Suddenly, a pair of soft hands clamped firmly around his waist, and Zofia pulled him back down. Her fingers boldly brushed against his imposing, fully-aroused eighth-tier weapon.
"Um, Ren..." Zofia bit her lower lip, her face flushed a deep, intoxicating crimson. "C-Can we do it one more time?"
Despite her shyness, the raw hunger in her eyes was unmistakable.
Ren paused, his gaze sweeping over the tangled mess of limbs and sheets. Margaret Nearl and Centaurea were watching him intently, their eyes practically glowing with the exact same hopeful desire.
"You girls too?" Ren asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Ugh... Mm..." Margaret averted her gaze, her cheeks burning, while Centaurea simply nodded, letting out a soft, needy hum.
Ren laughed, a rich, booming sound that shook the mattress. He threw the blankets aside and dove right back into the pile of beauties.
"Alright! Then before I leave, I'll teach you girls the true meaning of anime volume!"
Meanwhile, in another universe entirely.
High above the clouds of Tokisaki Kurumi's world, a massive aerial battleship hovered in stealth mode, completely invisible to the naked eye and standard radar.
"What exactly is going on here?!"
A young girl with bright red hair tied into twin pigtails groaned, aggressively rubbing her temples.
This was the Fraxinus, the flagship and primary base of operations for the secret organization known as Ratatoskr.
Taking its name from the mythical squirrel of Norse legend, Ratatoskr was an organization dedicated to a singular, seemingly impossible goal: resolving the Spirit crisis through peaceful means. Instead of killing the otherworldly entities responsible for devastating spatial quakes, they advocated for friendly communication, aiming to pacify the Spirits and integrate them into society.
Founded by the enigmatic magician Elliot Baldwin Woodman, the organization operated under the authority of the Round Table Conference. They were heavily backed by Asgardr Electronics, a advanced magic research and manufacturing conglomerate created by Woodman that supplied them with advanced manifestation devices and massive aerial warships like the Fraxinus.
They recruited countless volunteers under the banner of protecting Spirits.
And the supreme commander sitting in the captain's chair of this massive vessel was the red-haired girl currently throwing a minor fit—Kotori Itsuka.
She was a human who possessed the powers of a Spirit herself, designated by the code name Efreet. Her personality was dictated by the ribbons tying up her hair. When she wore white ribbons, she was a clingy, tearful, innocent little sister.
But right now, she wore the black ribbons.
That meant she was in her sadistic, sharp-tongued, hyper-competent commander mode.
And right now, Commander Kotori was incredibly stressed.
She chewed aggressively on the stick of her Chupa Chups lollipop, glaring at the massive holographic monitors in front of her. Their primary mission—saving Spirits—had hit a massive, inexplicable brick wall.
The Fraxinus sensors had clearly detected multiple Spirits manifesting in the real world. Yet, every single time the Ratatoskr recovery teams arrived at the epicenter of the spatial quakes, the Spirits were already gone. Vanished without a single trace.
The intelligence division had confirmed the arrival of several high-profile targets in the current world:
Diva—Miku Izayoi.
Sister—Nia Honjou.
Witch—Natsumi.
Princess—Tohka Yatogami.
Berserker—Yuzuru Yamai.
Berserker—Kaguya Yamai.
Hermit—Yoshino.
A total of seven incredibly powerful Spirits had descended into the current world, and Ratatoskr hadn't managed to secure a single one of them.
It was beyond frustrating. It was statistically outrageous.
"Commander, there is no need to be so troubled."
A slow, exhausted voice drifted from the shadows behind the command chair.
A woman in her late twenties stepped forward, her loose military uniform hanging off her slender frame. Her skin was sickly pale, and incredibly thick, dark bags hung under her half-lidded eyes, making her look like a patient who hadn't slept in a decade. Her hair was casually tied up, and a heavily scarred, stitched-up teddy bear peeked out from her breast pocket.
This was Reine Murasame, Ratatoskr's chief analyst.
Reine slowly pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose. "According to the latest intercepted intelligence, it is not just us. Aside from their initial, brief contact with the Princess, the AST hasn't found any of the other Spirits either."
Kotori stopped chewing on her lollipop, her brow furrowing in deep confusion. "They haven't made contact either?"
The Anti-Spirit Team, or AST, was a military faction with goals diametrically opposed to Ratatoskr. Composed mostly of unfortunate individuals who had lost homes or loved ones to the spatial quakes, the AST existed solely to hunt down and exterminate Spirits with extreme prejudice.
Now came the truly strange part.
If Ratatoskr hadn't found them, and the AST hadn't killed them... where the hell did they go?
"Yes. Where did they go?"
Behind the lenses of her glasses, Reine's half-closed eyes narrowed just a fraction, a strange, unreadable gleam flickering in her pupils for a split second.
Kotori, completely oblivious to her analyst's subtle shift in demeanor, let out a long, heavy sigh that ruffled her red bangs.
"This is way too strange," Kotori grumbled, leaning back in her massive command chair. "Is there some unknown third party out there snatching up Spirits right under our noses?"
