Chapter 763: Misaka Mikoto: Damn it, my body completely remembers his touch!

"Haa~"

Ren left. He vanished from the high-rise office as casually as smoke in the wind, leaving behind a power vacuum and a group of exhausted, flushed, yet strangely empowered women.

He had become a hands-off manager, entrusting the fate of the city to his new "collection."

But Academy City still needed a new governing body to operate. The vacuum left by Aleister Crowley and the purge of the corrupt Board of Directors had to be filled immediately to prevent anarchy.

Misaka Mikoto, Misaki Shokuhou, and the others stepped up. With the unparalleled computational power of the Misaka Network, the logistical support of the newly acquired Airlines (Lag-Air Lines) that Ren had freely gifted them, the combat prowess of the powerful and effective Misaka Sisters, and the ruthless enforcement of the Item members, they managed to stabilize Academy City.

The metropolis of science, which was teetering on the brink of turmoil due to the sudden regime change, found a new, albeit strange, equilibrium.

Then, they began to establish a completely new set of rules for Academy City.

The first order of business was dealing with the Dark Side of Academy City. Those unnecessary dark factions, the rogue laboratories, and the insane experiments that treated human life as currency were all shut down with extreme prejudice.

In the future, the underground enforcers would rely on the powerful Misaka Sisters, who now possessed Level 5 output capabilities thanks to Ren's modifications. They became the city's new immune system.

But for the overt law enforcement agencies—the public face of the Board—they were still short of reliable people.

Ren asking them to invite some beautiful women to join the Board of Directors made them very jealous, sparks flying and remote controls clicking in irritation. But they had to admit, they indeed needed manpower—specifically, capable individuals who understood the darkness of the city but weren't consumed by it.

So they checked a lot of information, sifting through the encrypted databases Ren had unlocked.

And Dolly immediately locked onto one person. Her eyes, filled with a nostalgia that transcended her artificial lifespan, widened.

"Misaki, let's invite her."

"…Is it her…"

Misaki Shokuhou's expression became complex after seeing the profile photo of that girl on the holographic screen. Memories, both sweet and bitter, flooded her mind.

Keisaku Mitori.

Dolly's first true friend. The girl who had shared the loneliness of the laboratory.

She was also the person who had initially played the role of contacting Dolly on behalf of the researchers, before their bond became real.

According to the information files, her life was a tragedy written in code and scars.

In her childhood, she underwent experiments at a research institute called the "Talent Workshop." It was a hell disguised as a school.

It was then that she met Dolly.

Dolly grew up in these research facilities from a young age, experiencing immense psychological pressure and isolation, which affected the researchers' data collection on her clone body.

The researchers, cold and calculating, then dispatched Keisaku Mitori to become her friend. This was a calculated move to reduce her psychological pressure and facilitate their data collection for the prototype.

Initially, Keisaku Mitori only regarded this as a task. A job for survival.

Every day after experiments, she would accompany Dolly and put on a show of friendship.

Then, while playing with Dolly, something changed. The facade cracked. Keisaku Mitori gradually became her close friend in truth.

Only in front of Dolly would Keisaku Mitori show her true smile, stripping away the cynicism forced upon her by the city.

Later, an experiment ended early.

Keisaku Mitori rushed to Dolly's room, eager to see her friend, but unexpectedly discovered the gruesome scars on Dolly's body—the marks of the machines keeping her alive.

The researchers told her that it was a life-sustaining device for Dolly, telling Keisaku Mitori not to guess wildly or ask questions above her clearance.

However, after Keisaku Mitori went back and thought about it carefully, the more she thought, the more something felt wrong. The logic didn't hold.

So she used her ability, Liquid Shadow (Liquid Metal Manipulation), to create a puppet. She stole the key card, invaded the secure server, and bypassed the firewalls.

It was at that moment that she learned everything about Dolly. The clone status. The expiration date. The disposability.

The next day, Keisaku Mitori confronted the researchers with the evidence.

She tried to order them to stop Dolly's medication, hoping Dolly would live a few more years if they stopped the accelerated growth protocols.

Otherwise, she threatened to take the data and report them, and have the General Superintendent investigate their responsibilities.

But what Mitori didn't know was the depth of the darkness.

The experiment itself involved high-ranking officials of Academy City. It was sanctioned by the very top.

After learning the truth—that there was no justice to appeal to—Keisaku Mitori lost her last hope.

She had intended to make one last stand with her ability, to burn it all down.

However, she was subdued by the security personnel of the research institute working together. A Level 4, no matter how strong, could not fight an army alone. She was locked in a dark room, silenced.

More than a month after Keisaku Mitori was imprisoned, Misaki Shokuhou initiated her rebellion and occupied the entire research institute, rewriting the minds of the staff.

Keisaku Mitori also escaped because of this chaos.

Later, consumed by hatred for the city that killed her friend (or so she thought), she joined the terrorist organization MEMBER.

She was eventually imprisoned in the juvenile reformatory for an attempted terrorist attack on Aleister Crowley, the General Superintendent.

Keisaku Mitori is currently in the juvenile reformatory, rotting away in a high-security cell.

Misaki Shokuhou took a deep breath, her starry eyes shimmering with resolve. She nodded with a smile: "Alright, let's go see her… It's time for a reunion."

On the other side of the city.

The night air was cool, but Misaka Mikoto felt like she was burning from the inside out.

After the basic construction of the new administration was settled, Misaka Mikoto returned to her dormitory at Tokiwadai Middle School.

She walked slowly, every step an effort.

Not only had she been forcefully drained by Ren in that marathon "private tutoring" session, but she had also been busy for so long stabilizing the city that she was mentally and physically exhausted.

Her legs were trembling slightly as she walked back to the dormitory. Her inner thighs felt tender, a constant, friction-filled reminder of the man who had claimed her.

In her heart, she had already cursed Ren a thousand times for brutally and wantonly exploiting her with his enormous machine. He was a beast! A stamina monster!

But it was only a silent curse. A curse lacking real venom.

Because the irrefutable evidence, which the Misaka Sisters had collectively demanded to protect and preserve within the Misaka Network's shared memory banks, showed the truth.

The memory logs showed that she had been shouting words like "continue," "more," and "faster" at the beginning, clinging to him like a lifeline.

Yet, in the end, she was begging for mercy, sobbing and trembling as he took her to heights she didn't know existed.

Just thinking about it made her feel incredibly embarrassed and a phantom sensation of tingling numbness washed over her body.

Misaka Mikoto looked down at her skirt, clutching the fabric. She gritted her teeth.

"Damn it, my body has completely memorized that feeling!"

Just thinking about it actually made her react. She felt a dampness, a heat pooling low in her belly.

She shook her head violently to clear the lewd thoughts. She needed a shower. She needed sleep.

As her left foot stepped into the dormitory room 208, Misaka Mikoto was ready. She charged her bio-electricity, preparing to give Shirai Kuroko her usual electric therapy for suddenly shouting "Onee-sama" and pouncing on her. She braced herself for the teleporting pervert.

But she found that this situation didn't occur at all.

It was unusually quiet today. The room was dark, lit only by the glow of a computer screen.

Shirai Kuroko wasn't here?

No.

She was.

Shirai Kuroko was sitting on her bed. She stood up as Mikoto entered, clutching her computer to her chest. She looked dazed, her eyes red and puffy.

"Onee-sama, I'm sorry, I secretly looked at your computer…"

She apologized first, her voice hoarse.

Misaka Mikoto's eyes narrowed. She had left her terminal decrypted in her haste.

She then realized that Shirai Kuroko was hugging her, though this time she wasn't being mischievous. There was no groping, no perverted laughter.

Instead, Kuroko buried her face in Mikoto's shoulder and said with a sobbing voice: "Onee-sama, why… why didn't you tell me about it? The experiments... the clones... I would have helped Onee-sama too! Why did you bear it all alone?!"

"..."

Misaka Mikoto understood immediately. Shirai Kuroko had seen the files. She had seen the search history about the Level 6 Shift project, the Sisters, and the dark side.

Hearing her words, her heart couldn't help but feel warm. The tension in her shoulders released.

It felt good to be cared for. To have someone worry about her not as an idol, but as a person.

Unlike that scoundrel Ren who just left after finishing, without even waiting for her to wake up or saying a word of concern! He just zipped up his pants and went to conquer the world!

Hmph! Next time they meet, she would definitely bite him hard! She would leave a mark!

Misaka Mikoto thought fiercely to herself, masking her affection with aggression.

"Onee-sama, let's stop that evil plan together!"

Shirai Kuroko looked directly at her, wiping her tears, and said seriously: "Even if it means becoming enemies with the entire Academy City, I will stand by Onee-sama's side. Judgment be damned!"

Faced with such seriousness and resolve, Misaka Mikoto scratched her head. She felt a pang of guilt for making her friend worry, but also relief.

She said awkwardly: "Ahem, Kuroko, I'm very happy that you're willing to help me. Really."

"But… the matter has already been resolved."

"..."

Shirai Kuroko was stunned. Her determination hung in the air, having nowhere to land.

Hearing this, she not only wasn't happy but instead became downcast, her pigtails drooping.

"Is Onee-sama trying to keep me from getting involved? Trying to protect me again? But I don't mind! I am your partner!"

Misaka Mikoto knew she had misunderstood.

She helplessly rubbed her forehead, walking over to her bed and sitting down heavily.

"Kuroko, I'm telling the truth. Someone helped me shut down the experiment, and the Misaka Sisters are alive. They are safe."

"Who could do such a thing?"

Shirai Kuroko still didn't believe her.

Because according to the plan files she read, it involved the strongest individual in Academy City, the First Rank Accelerator, and the highest authorities. It was a conspiracy rooted in the city's foundation. It couldn't possibly be resolved in one day without a war.

Seeing Shirai Kuroko so persistent, Misaka Mikoto had no choice but to produce decisive evidence.

She reached into her bag and took out a sleek, black card with a gold chip. It was the official insignia of the new administration.

She took out the Board of Directors' certificate.

"Look, I'm now the second-in-command of the Board of Directors. I have the authority to stop it. You can believe me now, right?"

"Ah?!"

Looking at the seemingly authentic document in her hand, Shirai Kuroko was also dumbfounded. Her teleporter brain couldn't compute the spatial leap in logic.

She didn't think her Onee-sama would forge an identity document. Mikoto was too honest for that.

But if it was real… how could this be possible?!

Overnight, Onee-sama's identity had undergone a drastic change! From a student to a ruler of the city?

However… it seemed possible!

Suddenly, she thought of something big. The news alerts she had been ignoring all evening.

The General Superintendent being replaced, and all members of the Board of Directors being dismissed. The complete restructuring of the city's leadership.

This major event in Academy City indeed happened overnight!
