Mia noticed her wet face first. "Vessara?" She was on her feet before she realized she had moved. She crossed the room in quick strides, her hands reaching for Vessara's shoulders. "What's wrong?" she asked, her voice laced with worry. "Vessara, are you okay?"
"Yes…I'm…fine." She stuttered, sniffing. "It's…it's…nothing." Vessara shook her head, a frantic and jerky motion. Her hands came up to wipe at her face, but the tears kept coming, and she couldn't seem to make them stop.
"I...think...something got into my eyes." Vessara lied. But then she burst into loud sobs. Unfiltered.
The sound was raw, unfiltered, ragged, and it was torn from somewhere deep inside her. It filled the room.
Marisol and Daphne exchanged confused glances at the crying Luna.
"I need you to relax now. Take a deep breath." Mia muttered.
