The setting of this novel is a continent called Avaloria.
Boreas is the northernmost kingdom. With a climate mirroring the wild tundra of Alaska, Boreas is a land of jagged peaks and frozen pine. Its people are masters of blacksmithing, fueling the continent's industry with vast exports of iron, silver, and gold, while sustained by hardy timber and freshwater fish from its icy glacial lakes.
Notus is the southernmost kingdom. A sun-drenched, humid expanse reminiscent of Florida. Known for its sprawling coastlines and tropical wetlands, Notus is Avaloria's agricultural powerhouse for exotic goods. It exports a bounty of citrus, sugar, tomatoes, and watermelons, alongside industrial essentials like limestone, natural gas, and oil pulled from its rich seabeds.
Epirus is the easternmost kingdom, with the sweeping plains and seasonal extremes of Nebraska. Epirus serves as the breadbasket of the continent, defined by endless horizons of corn, soybeans, and hay. Its economy is anchored by massive pig farming operations and the quarrying of industrial lime
Hesperos is the westernmost kingdom, a temperate realm of rugged coasts and fertile valleys, much like Oregon. Hesperos is a land of refinement and rare earth, exporting high-value gemstones, fine wine, and berries. Its diverse geography also produces essential wheat and cattle, as well as specialized minerals like diatomite, perlite, and bentonite clay.
Eternity's Embrace is nestled at the exact center of the four kingdoms, and is a magical forest. It predates the rise of every kingdom and remains a wild, untamable territory. Thick with mana, the woods are a treasure trove of magical herbs and rare mana-infused ores, and is inhabited by powerful magical beasts that have claimed the forest as their sanctuary.
