Police Scotland has launched a major investigation following the discovery of the body of Connor Campbell, the 33-year-old chief executive of Nixon Enterprises, in an industrial service alley near Glasgow Airport during the early hours of Thursday morning.

Emergency services were called to the area shortly after 4:15 a.m. after a delivery driver reported spotting what appeared to be an abandoned black Bentley Flying Spur parked near a fenced cargo route off Marchburn Drive. Officers arriving at the scene later discovered Campbell's body partially concealed behind a row of shipping pallets in a narrow service lane frequently used by airport maintenance vehicles.

Authorities have not officially released the full details surrounding Campbell's injuries. However, sources close to the investigation described the scene as "deeply disturbing," with preliminary forensic findings indicating extensive physical trauma, including multiple stab wounds and significant blunt-force injuries to the head.

Detectives also confirmed that several of Campbell's personal belongings, including his phone, wallet, identification, and smartwatch, were missing from the scene.

The technology executive had reportedly attended meetings at Nexon Enterprises' Glasgow headquarters earlier that evening before leaving the building shortly after 11 p.m. Employees speaking outside the company's offices on Thursday described Campbell as unusually distracted in the hours before his death, despite the company recently announcing record quarterly profits and continued overseas expansion.

"He looked exhausted," one employee told reporters gathered outside the building. "Not angry or anything like that. Just tense. Like something was weighing on him."

The company itself remained largely silent throughout Thursday, though several senior staff members were seen entering and leaving the headquarters alongside private security personnel while media crews gathered outside.

Investigators are also believed to be examining reports that Campbell had purchased a one-way business-class ticket to Mexico City only hours before his estimated time of death, currently believed to be around 2:30 a.m. Why the businessman intended to leave the country so suddenly remains unclear.

Campbell, who maintained an intensely private public profile despite his growing visibility within Scotland's technology sector, had previously faced scrutiny over alleged links to offshore financial activity and suspected narcotics-related investigations, though he was never convicted of any major offence.

His younger brother, believed to be the next acting head of Nexon Enterprises, alongside Campbell's long-term girlfriend and personal assistant, is understood to be assisting investigators.

By Thursday evening, forensic tents still surrounded the airport-side alleyway as officers continued examining nearby CCTV footage while traffic moved steadily past police cordons only metres away.

Questions now remain over why Connor Campbell appeared to be preparing to leave Scotland in such secrecy only hours before his death — and whether the young executive, whose rise to power had long been shadowed by rumours, private investigations, and dangerous associations, had finally crossed paths with people far more ruthless than himself.

Behind the polished interviews, billion-pound technology empire, and carefully controlled public image, investigators are now attempting to piece together the final hours of a man who may have known far more than he ever let the public see. Police are also expected to examine whether someone from Campbell's controversial past may have finally decided to settle old scores.

Shayna read the entire article three times before finally keeping her phone away.

The last warning from her benefactor seemed to ring loudly in her ears.

2:30 am ?!

Approximately 45 minutes after she had sent him all the details!

She could not help but feel pure terror dissolve through her like ice.

Just who had she stolen from?

.......

Her steps back from the coffee shop felt damp and heavy. Despite her complete efforts to keep the morning incident out of her mind, her mind kept flinching heavily at the sound of anything unexpected.

By evening, it was so bad that she nearly jumped and cursed at a customer who had tapped her to bring her out of her trance.

That earned her a severe warning from the coffee shop owner, as well as a threat to cut her already meager paycheck.

Not that it mattered to her anymore.

No longer being a barista was probably one of the only good things that had happened that morning.

Shayna's phone started buzzing in her hands.

Unknown number.

She checked her surroundings. A dark, deserted alley, not unlike the one they had found Campbell murdered in.

She silenced the phone. The main street was still somewhat twenty feet away, and she felt much better being murdered near a designer store than near a really foul-smelling gutter.

Her pace automatically quickened to what felt like half walking, half running. Her eyes kept twitching from left to right, looking for any sign of humans, but to no avail.

This was exactly the kind of place that serial killers found their victims in.

Don't think that shit right now.

I should probably watch less gruesome movies.

God, at this point, I'd be happy to see a serial killer.

Meanwhile, her phone had again started vibrating violently in her hands. It almost felt like a bomb ready to go off any second.

Why the hell is there a street lamp if they can't even turn it on?

Useless government.

If I get out of here safely, I promise I'll start going to church, even get baptized; I'll sleep with a priest if I have to.

As if God had listened, Shayna suddenly spotted light at the end of what felt like an endless dark corridor. She even spotted something: sleeping homeless people at the entrance.

She looked up, her hands folded.

I'm not actually sleeping with a priest. Thanks, anyway.

Then, she ran through the last few metres of the alleyway, without taking a second look back.

Phew.

She took a long sigh of relief, though her legs immediately urged her to keep moving. Her phone was still vibrating in her hands.

Ok, there's a Chanel store in front. I can die in here.

She pressed the call receive button.

"You dare ignore my phone calls, darling ? "came an almost sickeningly sweet voice. You know I love you, but if you do things like this, I might have to come to your house.

No.

"I see ", his voice had softened to a hum, " Are you with someone? "

"No", Shayna said, almost immediately.

"Hmmm...I believe you ", his voice seemed dangerously sweet, " My darling knows better than to lie to me, doesn't she ?"

"Hmmm..."

" Though I have to admit, after what you did today, I might be a bit scared of you, " he said with a chuckle, "I didn't realise you had it in you .

What ?!
