CeCe's eyes fluttered open weakly while pain crawled through her body like tiny sharp needles. For a moment she could only stare at the stone ceiling above her bed in confusion, wondering why her entire body felt heavy. Then the memory crashed back into her head all at once.
The terrifying pain in her stomach. "Ahhh… that bastard…"
The movement beside her startled her before a woman suddenly grabbed her tightly into an embrace.
"Thank goodness!" the woman cried out shakily. "You are awake!"
CeCe blinked in confusion as warm tears dropped on her shoulder. The woman held her carefully as if afraid CeCe would disappear again.
"I'm sorry for not looking after you," she whispered guiltily. "Your father almost tore me alive!"
CeCe stared blankly for a moment. "Errr… what is happening?"
Another woman sitting nearby rolled her eyes dramatically while eating sliced fruits from a plate.
