CeCe waited and waited for something to happen. At first, she had squeezed her eyes shut like someone expecting immediate death, her whole body locked tight, her heart racing like it was trying to escape through her throat. The sound of those charging beasts had been so real, so terrifying that she had already started planning what kind of ghost she would become after dying for the second time in one week.
But then… nothing happened. Instead, she suddenly felt cold… as if she was thrown into a freezer.
CeCe opened her eyes immediately. "Eh?"
She stayed frozen for a few seconds, as if moving too quickly might remind the universe that it had forgotten to kill her. "Why is there suddenly snow?" she remembered staying in a desert full of beasts, why was it suddenly empty but filled with snow?
"Don't tell me they cancelled my death because of low budget," she muttered, squinting suspiciously at the empty space.
