Chapter 4 - truth by truth

Kiefer – POV

The moment I entered Fernandez Corp, I didn't stop.

I went straight to Angelo's office—

and barged in.

He was sitting behind his desk, focused on some documents.

But the second he saw me, he stood up.

"So… you're back," Angelo said.

"I've been waiting for you."

"Angelo… why did you do that?" I demanded.

"I didn't," he replied calmly.

"I was forced—by Jay Jay."

My fists clenched.

"I did everything you told me to!" I snapped.

"I hurt her… made her believe I didn't love her… broke her heart—just to protect her!"

My voice cracked.

"And still… you sent her away? Away from me? From Section E? Why?!"

Angelo sighed.

"Kiefer… I didn't want to," he said.

"She blackmailed me."

My breath hitched.

"She said if I didn't let her go… she would harm herself," he continued.

"She only asked for two months. I made sure she's safe."

My legs gave out.

I fell to my knees in front of him.

Tears blurred my vision.

"Angelo… I really love her," I choked.

"Please… don't let her leave me. If she does… I won't survive it."

Angelo's expression hardened.

"If you truly mean that… then fine," he said.

"But if you ever hurt her again—even once—

I will make you pay."

I nodded desperately.

"And about Yuri," he added, "I've already broken the engagement. I won't let Jay Jay get hurt again."

"Th-thank you… Angelo…"

"I know," he interrupted softly.

"When a Watson loves… there are no exceptions."

He paused.

"She might be back in fifteen days. I'll try to bring her sooner."

I slowly stood up.

"I'll support Fernandez Corp with Watson Enterprise," I said firmly.

"I won't let your company fall."

Before Angelo could reply, the door opened.

Aries walked in.

Angelo gestured for me to leave.

I nodded—and walked out.

Aries – POV

"Why was he here, Kuya?" I asked sharply.

"Are you going to give Jay Jay to him now?"

"I never sold her, Aries," Angelo replied.

"Then why call him here?"

"Come. Sit."

I hesitated—but obeyed, sitting beside him.

Angelo took a deep breath.

"There's something you need to know."

I felt my chest tighten.

"Jay Jay… and your father—Jasfer Mariano—

are connected."

"What…?"

"Jasfer Mariano is your real father," Angelo said.

My world froze.

"Jeana forced me to keep it from you," he continued.

"But Jay Jay… is your real sister."

My hands trembled.

"She isn't alone," Angelo added.

"She has twins—Jane and Jare. They're triplets."

I couldn't speak.

"They were sent to New York to Jasfer… when you came to us. Jay Jay was nine back then."

Everything felt unreal.

"And that incident…" Angelo continued quietly.

"When Jay Jay stabbed you…"

I flinched.

"She wasn't in control."

My voice came out barely a whisper.

"…Why?"

Angelo's eyes darkened.

"Because of her past."

Silence filled the room.

"Her first stepfather abused her," he said slowly.

"He used to hurt her… torture her…"

I clenched my fists, shaking.

"After that, Jeana left him," Angelo continued.

"But she needed money… so she made terrible choices that hurt Jay Jay even more."

My chest felt like it was collapsing.

"That's when Jay Jay fought back," he said.

"And since then… blood triggers her trauma. She loses control."

Tears streamed down my face.

"She never meant to hurt you, Aries," Angelo said softly.

"I know…" I cried.

"I never blamed her… I was just scared. I didn't know how to face her…"

Angelo pulled me into a hug.

"It's not your fault."

He pulled back slightly.

"She'll be back in fifteen days," he said.

"When she returns… protect her."

I nodded.

"And Kiefer…" Angelo added, "he truly loves her. I made him push her away to protect her. His father was targeting her."

Everything started to make sense.

Just then, someone knocked and entered.

A client.

"Aries, go for now," Angelo said.

"We'll talk later."

As I turned to leave, he added—

"Talk to Kiefer… and Percy. You deserve to know everything."
